I guarantee you those Steelers... the players & coaches are happy as all get out that they won their division. If you asked them right now if their season was a success they'd say, "Heck yeah, so far."
Can't win the Super Bowl without winning the division.
It's only some fans who look at our situation & say, "Whelp, we'll probably lose the next game." The rest of us appreciate the chance to play for a championship. We might win the next three games, who knows? We shouldn't have won 9 games so far, but we did. Don't know how... but we did. I don't know how we're going to beat KC or Oakland wild card weekend, but I'm not going to give up on the possibility that we might.
& if we beat them, who knows what's going to happen against New England. Speaking of which, I'm sure every team in the playoffs would like to avoid New England as long as possible. That's just not being a dumbass.
Do you think the Steelers will call it a successful season of winning a playoff game and then losing the next? I don't. Being happy and celebrating are two different things. I am happy to get ice cream but don't celebrate it.
And I disagree that noone wants to play NE and want to avoid them. If you are a winner, like Pittsburgh, or KC even, you are saying bring it on because you aren't scared.
YOU WANT TO PLAY THE BEST TO BEAT THE BEST TO BE THE BEST.
Right now we are trying to avoid the best. Fans see it and lose excitement.
It's essentially blue balls for fans. Sorry kids. Close but not close enough.
