This guy has tremendous upside, and this is a good pick. He has first rd talent, he's just a little raw. It's about time we take an olineman in rd 1. Our line is shaping up to be very good, very quick. The days of the swiss cheese line is over.

Great job Rick Smith, and Gary Kubiak with an assist from Gibbs. Now we have 6 picks tomorrow, and can fill CB, RB, DE, and maybe a LB or safety to boot.

Yeah, the only thing I wonder is if we were going after Jenkins or Johnson. But secondary was OT. Maybe their goal was the extra 3rd rounder for depth. I just hope they know what they are doing.

Maybe they are thinking they can get some good RBs and CB later. Diamonds in the rough?

Exactly. Remember how many people were pissed when we took Daniels in the 4th when Ko Simpson was on the board? I have a feeling this pick will work out in a similar fashion.

Or you suck as a tallent evaluator... You got an over thirty guy protecing the blind side of the QB...they had to do something. at least they didn't pay the guy 18 money. You now have some hope of Keeping MS upright if Salaam goes down.
OLT was and has been the bigest hole. They had no ammo to move up in the first. and Brown wasn't going to be there @ the 79.

My thoughts exactally. Our last two drafts have been on the whole impressive. I know little about Brown, BUT I trust our scouting abilities, and I'm sure we'll be proved right again.

I don't think our RB's can really do it, and wish we had Mendenhall in there. If not him, then Mike Jenkins. We could have had either one of them. Damn.

Considering Smithiak's performance in 2 drafts so far. Plus, they actually get paid to do this for a living. I'll defer to them until they prove they are Matt Millen type retarded.

I know fantasty football has made everyone with an internet connection an instant player personnel expert. However, please forgive me if I defer to the professionals.
 
I'm trying to be positive about this selection. At least we will have enough depth on the line and really won't have to worry as much about Charles Spencer's recovery. He is definitely a good choice for the offense we are running. I will trust Gibbs with this pick. Hopefully we can get into the 2nd with a Rosenfels trade but i don't see it right now.

We swapped 1st round spots (they got our 18; we got their 26) and picked up another 3rd (89) and another 6th (173). So now we're back to 7 total picks this year.
 
yay...lets pass on cason and phillips for a guy that gave up 8.5 sacks last year...YAY!!!!...give me a break. This was a garbage pick. Pathetic. Pathetic Pathetic and stupid.

We can find a solid CB/RB with our two 3rd round picks. Could we have found a solid OT with a 3rd? I think not. Quit complaining, its like you guys are forgetting that Charlie Casserly is NOT our GM anymore!!!
 
I wanted an o-line this year since the class is tackle heavy. Duane Brown might be a bit of a reach but even if he turns out to be a better guard I'll be happy. This o-line has been overlooked for far too long in the draft. I think we got a player with some talent and with the right coaching I think he can become our left tackle (if Charles Spencer doesn't make it) and that's what we need. Remember that the draft is not over and there are other picks left and I'm sure we'll adress issues with the secondary and pass rushing with these other picks. Welcome to Houston Duane Brown!
 
Can I just say again what the hell is TN doing picking another RB? Seriously the way they are using the draft since Reeses left is great. In a tough division where you cant afford to make a mistake in the draft they choose Henry one year and Johnson the next!
