Texans 2008 NFL Draft

If Duane Brown is our pick at 26, I will be (somewhat) disappointed.

You shouldn't be. I had him rated JUST under Chris Williams on Porky's big board (hey if Kiper has one, why can't I?)

He is IDEALLY suited for the zone scheme. He is a bit raw so might need a little more time to develop, but he has tremendous upside especially on this team with this coach. Considering the other picks aquired with it, that is a grand slam homerun in my book.

The new big board.

1. Rashard Mendenhall
2. Mike Jenkins
3. Branden Flowers
4. Sam Baker
5. Dan Connor
6. Trevor Laws

The best of the rest.

SECONDARY
Antoine Cason
Kenny Phillips
Justin King
Tracy Porter
Charles Godfrey
Patrick Lee

OL
Carl Nicks
Anthony Collins
Oneil Cousins

DE
Phillip Merling
Calais Campbell
Quentin Groves
Lawrence Jackson

LB
Xavier Adibi
Erin Henderson

WR
James Hardy
DeSean Jackson
Devin Thomas
Limas Sweed

DT
Kentwan Balmer

RB
Felix Jones
Jamaal Charles
Ray Rice
Matt Forte

OK so here's the question. If you were a diehard don't trade sage fan? Would you have just traded Sage for a 3rd and a 6th? Or maybe for a second? Then take Mendenhal?

Mike

Panthers got raped by the Eagles.

Im surprised the Bucs chose Talib instead of Jenkins. Maybe the Texans will get lucky and Jenkins will fall to 26

Washington needs a big #1 receiver!

Dallas will take Mendenhall?

Pitt could take a RB to split with Forster!

TN Needs a receiver, if Jenikins or Flowers are there and we picked up extra picks great trade.

At 26, I'd like
- Mendenhall or Jenkins if they fall (not likely)
- Cason
- Another trade down...

I wonder if there's any way we can end up with two picks in the early 2nd. My dream (even before the draft) was to get Cason and one of the "other" OTs: Baker, Collins, or Cherilus (now gone).

the Texans looked content after the trade, maybe their not yet done trading back? or the guy they covet is still on the board @ #26 Brandon Flowers :)

Anyone think its Sam Baker at 26?

EDIT: Wow that was a suprise. I thought TB would definately go Jenkins at that spot. So...anyone think its Jenkins or Baker at 26?

Possible, but my money is on Duane Brown. I think he is a much better fit in the ZBS myself. But, I trust the Texans on this one. These guys know what they are doing!

I think Rick Smith has his eyes on a set corner and he thinks he will be available at 26. He made a great trade just to watch only 8 prospects to go by.

What about Kenny Phillips? Maybe this is the year they solve that hole.

Can't rule it out but I doubt it. To me a safety is a luxury pick that high, especially with no #2.

It's a LT or CB, I would bet the bank on it.
