Fran Tarkenton said that about Manziel.
Unless everyone is a savant these days.

He is an intern. When he actually becomes a scout I will respond. And don't use knowledge and Kollmann in the same sentence. He's not worthy. Anyone can repeat crap they have read on the internet, it doesn't make them knowledgeable. Get Bent!
As others have said, and I think you will agree with this, he's not the best "football player" in general in the draft. Technique/talent combo wise there are guys who are much better than him but at his position he is thought to be the overall best, and since his position is the most important in the NFL...
That's the kind of thought process that really should be going through the FO's head while they mull over trading picks.
Wait, Google tells me Kollman said this about TB.
Everyone is a savant apparently.
Although maybe only the idiot variety post around here.
My bad; I shouldn't have encouraged him.
Encourage me to what? I was giving everyone around here a lesson.
In what ?
Man I can't wait until the combine, so many questions will be answered including Teddy's true size/height/hands. He says himself he is 6"3, but a lot of people are saying he will measure in closer to 6"1.

On how to occupy hours and hours of an idiot's time.
I think he's 6'3" while wearing 2" spikes...
This is actually kinda funny, though not intentionally on your part.
Not sure that matters since he won't play barefoot.
Oh it was very intentional. And Yes it's funny how easily it was to keep you busy. You must have a serious man crush to get that upset and continue on like that.
So has the INTERN come out with any new "scouting reports" today?

Yeh but his OL won't be playing barefoot either so it does matter.
If he's 6ft 3in in spikes that's adequate height for the position regardless of his OL playing barefoot or in spikes. Guys like Wilson and Brees seem to get by and they're shorter than 6ft 1in.
Will you guys just **** already so this thread can move on?
I don't know if Teddy is that short, but part of Brees and Wilson's success is using the oline to create passing lanes so the height isn't a huge issue, though I will say that I always thought it was funny to see people, during the draft, worry about Wilson's ability to see over his linemen when Wisconsin had averaged out as tallest oline that year.

Is he using an NCAA-size ball or an NFL one? I only ask because he's not wearing gloves here.
I'm not sure you want to mess around that much with his weight, it could affect his fluidity. Core strength, yes, ability to improve on his long ball, yes, but adding weight just to add it on to make him seem more prototypical an exercise wasted. I'm more interested in his forty compared to Manziel who we know is fast![]()
Never thought I'd see the day when a QB's 40 would be more important than his size.
Even Bridgewater's staunchest defender knows his effectiveness in the pocket is more important than what he can do outside the pocket; now & in the future. The ability to make plays outside the pocket is a plus & it's becoming more & more important, But I rarely ever want to see the guy cross the LOS.
which is what Manziel does far more than Bridgewater. what I want to dispel is this notion that Teddy can't create outside the pocket when he has to with his legs while going through his progressions on the run. Face it, competition is the fuel of athletes we feed on. Luck does this a lot & crosses the line, only difference is he's a bigger guy![]()

Well you better get used to it. It's the way things are now. The rules are already there to protect the QB outside the pocket. I want a guy capable of making plays outside when things breakdown but smart enough to use the rules in his favor.
What's Luck's 40?
Irrelevant? Yes.
Luck maybe not so much, because he doesn't run as often as the others, but he does run more than say an Aaron Rodgers, or even Tony Romo.
4.6 same as Cam Newton, both are relevant and WHY both run WELL.
They're both 6'4" 240 lbs or more.
The only rule protecting the QB outside the pocket is the sliding rule. That's been in place for years. They're calling the hitting the player out of bounds thing rather liberally for QBs, but other than .

Manziel runs a 4.45 which is important for his escape ability. If he's slower than anticipated, he might not be as effective in the pros. He doesn't have it all, but neither do the big backs.
4.45? Drinking the koolaid today?
Nope. I'm going with the hard stuff. Grape juice.

On his 40-yard dash time:
I’m not sure. I have not run a 40 probably in a year and a half or so. But I think I could run around a… I couldn’t run anything like what [Ryan] Swope ran [at the NFL Combine], but I would hope around a 4.5. Somewhere in there would be nice.
I bring that up not to crap on Bridgewater (I actually like him a lot), but rather to dispel twitter group think. He is not a sure thing.
I think the vast majority of us here on TT would agree with the bold.
I think that could be said about all three QB's.
I used what I remembered, I was .05 off, but followed it with:IOTW you got nothing and embellished on an untested hope by a player:
Rodgers is 6'2 225 right now. I suppose because of that height and weight he's automatically not elite.
