Wanted to wait a bit before giving my thoughts on 2018 plus I see little to improve this season. It is also frustrating to read a thread and have to endure pages and pages of back and forth over who is a troll and who is a faithful fan. Often as I did tonight in the Watson #1 pick, I gave up after several pages trying to catch up and looking for productive info not just "gotcha back nanner poo poo." Following opinion is based upon what information on players I've been able to gather last few weeks. Note that as of Sunday vs Seattle I still had a QB in my draft mock (not published) in round 4 and that continues as I do expect Watson back. We of course just need to find ways to keep him on field and as close to his 2017 productivity as possible. The positive news about 2018 Watson as opposed to other injured players we are hoping to see return is his cap hit will not be hard to swallow as will JJ Watt's for example. IOWs we don't have to eat much cap
if he is unable to play. I hope you will not come here to blame owner, GM or coaches and we get caught up in that

we see elsewhere. None of these guys are leaving especially after seeing Watson's productivity pre 2017 knee injury and reviewing his stats post 2014 college knee injury. The guy is just good and should return fairly good if not record setting/franchise Qb we hoped he could be. At least for 2018. It seems to me we have some very good players that are low costs due to being UDFA's or low draft picks or high rookies such as Will Fuller, Foreman, Watson, Cunningham, Covington, Cole, Ellington, Fairburn etc.
Here we go: I was ecstatic to discover Lane failed physical and we got a 2018 3rd. This gives us three even if all are after apprx 25 th spot. We now have ammo to move up for the right guy. It is another year down the road but having a first, two 2nds in 2019 will be very good.*Note I would not pay what I think it will take to get higher than apprx 15th pick second round (47th) over all. Not taking time to use the trade draft pick points chart this early
I think two of the third rounds plus maybe a 6th would get us to pick 57 ish (#25 second round). LT Tyler Crosby Oregon should be there. He seems to have recovered from 2016 broken leg and thru 7 games this season he has not given up a sack or a hurry. If he starts rest of 2017, he passes the injury test as I don't like bringing in players with that history.
Our first selection [trade] round 2 (#57) LT Tyler Crosby 6'5 320 plays well both run & pass blocking. Alternate would be LG Will Hernandez UTEP.
Round three comp ILB Josey Jewell Iowa consistent tackling machine who covers; which could make him better than Cunningham whom I like.
Round 4 QB Mike White Western Kentucky Round 5 Safety Godwin Igwebuike. I have him rated higher but others don't. Round 6 (two left if one needed for #57 trade) LT/RT Timon Parris 6'5" 310 from little known
Stoney Brook. I don't have him rated as high as Walterfootball.com Round 6 b any of several corners who can also play safety.
Free Agency: 2018 cap as of now is $50 million + more if we clean the roster: Cushing, Newton, Allen, both Millers, Prosch, etc. I think Smith approaches this off season much different than last. Hopefully there will be some significant vets he can pick up. More should be eager to play with Watson, Hop and Fuller.
Trades: I would listen to offers for Clowney, Watt and Kareem Jackson.
