Slowik and the offense

Didn't the Texans select Stroud #2 overall? How big of a deal could the "altercation" have been? Looked like when things were going good in 2023, Stroud and Slowik were on the same page.
Hannah made the call to draft Stroud. He had a great first season. However his warts and concerns showed in year 2. Immaturity and childishness.

I wonder if this exchange had been on video like the OB vs Brady “teapot” sideline exchange if we’d even be talking about it. I’m sure there are very colorful coaches between players and coaches we are not privy to… heck Kelce shoved his coach in the Super Bowl.

But the winners write history. Chiefs won that game so much ado about nothing.

Texans offense was successful year one so much ado about nothing. But then year two they regressed and the skeletons come out of the closet and the sewing circle (Texans Talk) dissect the emotions of all parties involved!

I am just posting facts. How you want to interpret it is up to you.

First, who did this said reporter get his statement from, CJ or Slowick? To put this much faith in what said reporter wrote, certainly he got his information directly from the horses mouth. If it was nothing more than his observation and opinion, then let him join the millions of football fans who also possess an arsehole.

CJ visibly showed on several occasions that he was losing faith in Slowick and his OL. No adjustments were made until injuries stepped in, but the damage was already done.

I have no doubt that CJ has the skill set to be an upper tier NFL QB….even after this season. Slowick needs more time before any team in the NFL views him as a top tier NFL OC or HC. This would be the primary reason Slowick lost his job. Unfortunately, the Texans entered their window much sooner than expected, which essentially scrubbed Slowick’s OJT opportunity.

Texans really need to hit the bullseye with their next OC and OL Coach.
I expect more pouting and crying if things dont go as planned.

Let's stipulate that the predraft film review between Stroud and Slowik went down exactly how Zierlein received the information 3rd hand. Stroud makes a comment about how the Buckeyes ran the play being reviewed, but had a different name. Then Slowik went off on a tirade about how this is the NFL and who cares about what happened in college. Who is the guy that looks immature and unprofessional here?

If this were ever actually an issue, clearly Stroud and Slowik buried the hatchet and worked successfully together for a period. This theoretical red herring had zip to do with the issues that led to Slowik's dismissal.

I don’t think it was a question of knowledge for Slowik..it was a question of authority; Some guys just get caught up in it & don’t know how to exert their very small level of authority over these guys without being a-holes. Todd Haley was like that. Always up in his players’ faces..aggressive. Had numerous very public spats on the sidelines with his players..Kurt Warner..Ben Rothlisberger..T.O…..it’s partly why his ass is out of the NFL now. That combative, aggressive style of coaching doesn’t play with these kids these days. If they can play and have the accolades (& later the huge contract) on the wall to prove it, they know who the franchise is most likely to keep between the 2.

Slowik came into the situation behind the 8-ball & for CJ’s part he probably always had that pre-draft confrontation in the back of his mind. The miscues and in-game stuff was just icing on the cake.
The last paragraph is correct.

If things dont go smoothly I'm betting we see a repeat of what happened with Slowik. with the next OC. It's always the coach that gets replaced and the McNair's chose to get in bed with CJ, they will ride this out with him even if it means eventually firing Ryans.

Always love how people purposely forget Slowik started the altercation and proved to be in over his head as a OC.

And yet all of this is Stroud’s fault.

When Stroud was the one to show maturity and humbleness to look past Slowik’s shortcomings and ridiculous actions in their first pre-draft meeting.

Stroud wasn’t going to be talked down to like a little b1tch. He manned up and got back in Slowik’s face. And after Demeco’s meeting with him Stroud showed maturity to put it in the past. Just to play two years with a subpar OC.

Yeah - Stroud is the problem.

Get out if here with that dumb sh1t.

How is that different than any other NFL team?

So many grown men cried when Hamlin went down on both sides. You’re dead wrong for saying they can’t show freaking emotion. I’ve seen grown men cry whenever they didn’t win the super bowl.

Yall really needs to stop judging like you guys are so hard out here.
Name a time you've seen Brady/Montana/Elway/Manning/Mahomes/Allen cry on a football field and remember Allen was on the field when Hamlin happened. Bottom line is leaders dont pout and cry on the field.

Oh yes, you are 100% right as usual 🙄

Are we ready to move on yet?
I've been ready,

Let's get an OC hired and see how things turnout.

I just hope the next OC hire doesn't cost Ryans his job in a couple of yrs.

I would rather talk draft prospects, since that's the real reason I watch NFL football. I dont really like watching the NFL like I used too because of this kind of crap and the Chiefs crap etc....

So, Chris Jones is a leader on the Chiefs team. In your opinion. It's okay for him to cry before the game, on the sidelines during the game and after the game, but he can't cry if his teammate suffers a devastating injury?

If there are problems with another OC it will cost both Ryans and Caserio this time.

You a got darn lie. We’ve all seen Brady and Manning pouting and bleeding on the sidelines. Manning said he had to catch himself one time because he pissed off the wrong offensive lineman.

Gotta know who you’re dealing with here T Bull. Dude has been crapping on CJ since he said DM was his agent. So of course he’s going to ignore the real facts.

Stroud wasn’t willing to listen that’s why his second year was not as good. They clearly ran their own plays at times on offense. Receivers came out the huddle not knowing the route. Nico would run one route and Stroud expected him to be elsewhere. It’s on the QB to command his offense. It’s fine if you want to pound your head in the sand. If this happens again Stroud may as well end up on the Vince Young route.

If, and it's a big if, he, as you say, didn't listen, what's the problem? Why would he listen to crap that obviously wasn't working?

A QB who doesn’t listen to his OC will not beat the Chiefs or Ravens and for damn sure will not last in the NFL. Lobbing the ball up for an easy interception out of frustration repeatedly because things aren’t going your way will kill your career. I honestly didn’t like Mixon on the sidelines either throwing a b*tch fit.

I didn't need to be there to call it fact. I heard this from the FO at the time it occurred. And don't ask me for my exact source because I don't intend on revealing it. Please feel free to ignore my posts. But don't come back with the ridiculous argument that I had to be there to claim it is a fact.
And you're assuming that your FO source has no agenda? Told you what happened as it happened? I'm getting it from you 3rd hand, so forgive me if I don't take your words as "facts"

@CloakNNNdagger has more legitimate sources than you can dream about. You don’t have to take it as facts but YOU chose to respond. I find it interesting that you say that one must be in the room where it happened but choose to believe Adam Schefter who is never in the room.
