That later part was not said back then. Easterby name was never brought up. The report said OB brought up the baby mama stuff.

Not sure. I'll need to do more research. . .![]()
You claim the Texans will receive high quality starters through the draft in compensation for Watson and I gave my own hypothetical result. I wasn't trying to be difficult, just pointing out the alternative result.
I will add this - if the Texans trade Watson and it goes side-ways for them, Nick Caserio will have difficulty finding a job anywhere else in the NFL. He's still a pretty young guy. This one decision, that others so flippantly think they could make with no problem, could utterly destroy his reputation.
Me personally, I don't care if they trade Watson or they don't trade Watson. As long as Cal is allowed to run this organization it's going to struggle finding and keeping talent. Cal (and JE) will only accept winning under their own conditions. They won't bring in talent that has "character issues" which I find pretty ironic coming from a bunch of self described devout Christians. I'd think they'd want players that have strayed from what they would consider a "moral path" so that they could repair those poor unfortunate souls. Instead, they want nothing to do with the Tyrann Mathieu's and Deandre Hopkins's of the world.
Metaphorically, the Texans are the white BMW sedan I saw on fire on the side of 59 as a drove home from work the other evening. Admittedly, I didn't mind the slower traffic around the car because it allowed me to get a good look. Fortunately, there wasn't anyone trapped in the vehicle and that's where the metaphor between the flaming BMW and the Texans organization ended. And no, I'm not talking about Watson being trapped. I'm talking about the fans, like yourself and many others, that are hopelessly emotionally invested in the Texans. Optimistic that the fire department is on their way right now to extinguish the flames and rescue you.
Where were you when VY was in Tennessee? That team could go 1-15 & Texans fans would still be made if that 1 was in Houston with VY balling like the best college QB of all time.
If we trade Watson I hope it’s to an NFC team we only see once every four years.
Or this organization learns how to win games against the better teams.
Depending on the staff how we play. Remember, Jake Delhome took the Panthers to a SB with a good D and running game.
The Texans were working the phone hard for seat renewals before all of this came out. Never happened before. Free food etc. I even got a parking upgrade...hmmm
To be fair the whole NFL is working the phone hard. This last Super Bowl had the worst ratings since 07 which was Colts and Bears. When you figure that many are still on lockdown, seating was limited and the great story of Brady trying to prove he is the GOAT with a new team and the young GOAT of Mahomes standing in his way. Yeah this SB should have been a ratings smash but it wasn’t.
Things weren’t great before 2020 and then it was a bad year for football on many levels. I’m not sure the NFL will ever fully recover from the fallout of it.![]()
Super Bowl posts worst viewer ratings since 2007
CBS said the Super Bowl attracted 96.4 million viewers, the lowest-watched NFL championship since 2007, when the Indianapolis Colts played the Chicago Bears.www.cnbc.com
It was the WeekendYeah this SB should have been a ratings smash but it wasn’t.
Roger Goodell, NFL and CBS were pushing this social culture and social justice to a point of nauseating. Half of the CBS pre game show was downright cringeworthy. Reminds me of when ESPN decided to they wanted to do political commentary in stead of sports reporting. Damn near destroyed the network. To be fair the whole NFL is working the phone hard. Weeknd was the main attraction.Never stopped big ratings before.
I do not see Watson giving up his no-trade Clause to play for JacksonvilleJags are not giving up the 1st. One reason Urdan Meyer took the job was because they could get Lawrence.
Weeknd was the main attraction.
I guess when the last E in his name went missing, so did entertaining.Weeknd was the main attraction.

Nothing about Sunday was good unless you were a Bucs fan. Pre game was crap, halftime was crap, I remember one or two commercials not being crap, and the game was crap. I enjoyed the Chiefs getting beat like a piñata. Best part of the game was Tommy getting up in Honey Badgers face. Don't piss off the ol man, Honey Badger! The commercials were better... even his pregame
And it still didn’t. 96 million still blows anything out of the water by a ton, or 7. Still in the top 20 of the most watched things ever.Never stopped big ratings before.

The Texans are in a no win situation right now with Watson. And before I go on, I do NOT feel sorry for Watson. He is getting paid handsomely by the Texans. That said...

I don't think he woke up one day while on vacation and said, "I'm going to screw the Texans over." I don't think one thing happened between Watson and the organization that blew this relationship up. I believe there was already a lot of turmoil brewing and the hiring of Caserio just caused it to bubble over.
I'm not taking sides in this conflict. And I am not the least sympathetic towards any of the parties involved. The only point I've been making all along is that if the Texans trade Watson, there's no chance they'll be compensated fairly, because that's almost impossible, and; they'll regret it for as long as a McNair owns the team. As for the fans, if the Texans trade Watson, get ready for unwatchable football in H-Town again. Yeah, they lost a lot of games in 2020. But most of those were exciting games, solely because of the stellar quarterback play.
I don't know if I'm in the "hell with him camp" at the end of the day, it's a business. & if he's not happy with the direction the team is going... ah well.I'm starting to lean toward the "hell with him, we aren't trading him. You want to sit out, sit out."
Texans give in to him, the next time an owner or GM floats an air biscuit in public, these guys will want a trade!
Yeah. Signed Sonny Bono and Cat Stevens, Miley Cyrus, Slash, Meatloaf,Cher, EtcOh right, forgot about that. I swear these singer’s names are getting dumber.

Seriously doubt Russ would wave his no-trade clause to come here..
Ya know I didnt watch much but was DB76 getting ate up this year? I assumed it was more interior issues.....He may also want to play for a competent football organization..
His issue with Seattle isn't being kept from church, it's getting sacked too often..
Wondered if he's seen how much DW has run for his life..
i was going to make a thread apologising but i figured its best to let it go and forget about it

I do wonder how the Texans are going to go forward though, this situation has put them in a pickle. Salary cap issues from jump, reduced revenue from covid, now... most likely Watson dead money.
I understand 2021 is going to be a wash, but they still have to field a team.
The more and more I read about Watson being disgruntled, the more and more I get the urge to see him traded. Anyone who has paid attention knows I love Watson the QB. I have defended him in numerous threads. I also think he is a bonafide top 5 QB in this league with massive potential to win it all with the right weapons.
That said, if he is truly hurt over his participation or lack thereof in the selection of a GM, then I cannot feel bad for him. If he think's the Houston franchise is insensitive where it pertains to social justice, I cannot agree with him.
If rumors are true and Miami is a likely trade partner, then I want to see it done.
Watson and Cunningham for 2021 1st (#3), 2021 2nd, 2022 1st and Tua'.
This teams needs draft choices and cap space. This trade alleviates those issues, and casts off a personnel issue.
What would you like to see happen?

You think Easterby is going to trade Jj? I'd have thought he was Easterby's kind of guy.Once Watt is gone and we talk that out a trade for Watson could be next.
