Well he also said he doesn't want a team to Mortgage their future for him. He wants to be able to compete. Per Sharpe's source.

I've also heard he wants to go to a contender.

He has to realize that any team trading for him is going to have to do just that.

He also has to realize that no "Contender" has the assets to make that trade happen - early picks this year to go along with multiple future picks.

That's just unrealistic expectations ....
 
If your star, face of the franchise, says the team needs a culture change, why would you not do it? Allegedly he met with Cal, and Cal alone we hope, weekly toward the end of the season. This is where he made his "please look at EB request", no?

So know we've become the epitome of disfunction. I hate being part of group that is first for anything. "First time a franchise QB, approaching his prime, wants to be tratded".

So since Gaine was "fired", we've lost (1) Polcic (she didn't fit the culture despite her award from the NFL for being the best at her job (2) Hopkins (because he and BOB had issues..despite him being the #1 target for the up and coming franchise QB). He wanted a raise, but via tweet, he recently said it wasn't that much (hindsight and all)

So Watkins has asked for a culture change, one that is focused on winning football games, yet we keep the culture core, Easterby.

If Watson is truly the leader of the this team, wether he wants it or not, he needs to get to Kirby and talk to Caserio and Culley. If Easterby is truly the problem, the team needs to do what's best for the team. If's he's truly trying to steer both Cal and this franchise with a moral compass, and texting players mothers about their son's behaviors, it needs to be addressed.



Time for someone to be the adult in the room. I think Watson brings more money to this franchise than Jack Easterby. But I'm must a fan.

The Jets could sign a couple of WRs like Allen Robinson and Will Fuller to make Watson agree to a trade. Not to mention, they could extend his current contract and give him some additional $$$$ in bonus money. Watson can be made happy. Just not by this version of Texans management.

Easterby's biggest issue isn't the morailty thingy. IMHO (Although I dont like it)

His biggest issue to me is that he's a terrible contract negotiator. I cant believe he allowed a no trade clause to be put in DW4's contract. Of course after seeing his contract negotiations with Cunningham/Mercilus I shouldn't really be surprised.
 
So IMHO I think this will all be resolved before the beginning of the new league year, March 17. That's when it will all become official. Teams will want to know where they stand before the start of free agency, what the cap situation will be and how to set their draft boards.

I agree your take except with the Amy thing. I think Rootes was given the task by someone else and not his decision. Classic falling on the sword. She had been with the team since 2013 and suddenly didn't fit the culture? Cal seems to like this culture that they want to implement, let's see if it can win games. That's the frustrating bottom line for us especially since their bottom line is $$$.

Some might think he’s second best QB in draft but there are some who see Haskins 2.0 also in him. Jets fans were all over him at 2 with his Clemson win after the Bama loss the Jets fans jumped on the Wilson bus funny how fans are......
Personally I think Miami would be foolish to make a decision on Tag after 9 games

I don't pay attention to the team like I used to but I just don't get it. Watson signed his extension six months after DHop was traded. If he had any clue, he knew had the organization had been in the past and had to know where they were headed, everyone on the board knew. Was he just playing the part of the "good boy" until payday? Has money and fame gone to his head? Between his cryptic tweets and not hearing much from the front office, I don't know who to believe or what's going on. I just can't see someone doing a complete 180 four months after signing an extension. Or maybe it was his plan all along, and was the reason for the "no trade" clause, so he could pick where he wants to go. Even though I don't follow like I used to, it seems when I do check in it's nothing but drama and gossip like junior high.

He wants out regardless of who they did bring even if it was the guy he supposedly wanted.
He wanted to be involved then got pissed he wasn't involved enough even though that doesn't happen in football.
He wants to go to a contender.
He doesn't want to go to a gutted team.
He wants to go to a big market for celebrity stuff.
He wants to change the world and everything supposedly wrong with it.

He's perceived as a generational franchise QB, maybe half a step below Mahomes (all of that is up for argument, but that's the perception), so 5 firsts would be my minimum or my starting point. You want to give me 4 firsts and a stud starter, I'll take that, too. But I'm not trading a young franchise QB in his prime for anything other than a historic haul.

He's acting immature and lame. But I don't care. I'd rather he and the Texans mend their fences and go about the business of trying to get back in the hunt of winning a championship than the Texans responding out of emotions; trading him to a crappy franchise out of spite, which they can not do anyway.

Well it is being reported both ways then because what I have read is that he really like the Jets new head coach and would like to play fir him, plus the large NY market would be a huge plus for him.

It will never come to him sitting out. He obviously does not care for the way the Texans are moving and wants out. They will move him before the draft, it is in everyone’s best interest!
