I'm mainly curious if they knew about any of this before or after September 2020. Like I said, we will probably never know.
I've always maintained that they knew Derrick was a POS before they signed him to that contract. Some on here that I truly respect told me I was wrong.
I'm beginning to think I was right but like you said we probably will never know.

The McNair's made their decision to value money over doing the right thing and now are paying the price for that decision. Actually they are paying the price for letting an incompetent GM pick Derrick to begin with.

There was also talk about how he has changed since he got to the NFL that people that know him say he is not the same person he was at Clemson and how his rep has taken a beating no matter what comes of the all the accusations.
What happens if he gets charged criminally ? Do the Texans try and void the contract and get some of the signing bonus back ? Do they let the courts sort it out and then try and trade him ?
There are so many layers to this and it might be another year before its over.

The false testimony by Burney (Watson's personal marketing agent) that the Texans supplied Watson with the NDA has virtually been torn to shreds. In his deposition, he admitted that information came directly from Watson. Then a copy of an NDA supplied by Watson for a complainant was produced. It was a boiler plate NDA that can be found all over the web............it was not filled out in any way, nor signed. No organization anticipating any legal implications would have given any player an NDA. And in theory, if an NFL team was in any way involved with an NDA, it would have been filled with legalise through the nose.........as it would have been authored by an experienced attorney. It would not have been an essentially blank standard NDA that any dunce could copy and print out and hand to someone. And dunce appears to describe perfectly the party who would have in fact been involved in such an ill thought through move.
This goes back to the Momma Watson & Janice issue which ended in Hopkins being run out of town.
The team didn't realize that Watson was doing anything illegal until the first allegations / police reports were made in "Late" September 2020.
Prior to that they were under the assumption that Watson was simply having many consensual sexual encounters with "groupies" usually sourced from Instagram, and arranged by DHop.
Neither "Momma" approved of this and they "protected" Watson from the evil by moving Hopkins.
When Hopkins was moved (March2020) Watson's source of instagram hoes went with him and this is the point where he starts victimizing massage therapists.
Again - The Texans did NOT provide him with NDA's.
He is who he's always been.

& just giving Watson an NDA doesn't effect how Watson uses it. There are many legitimate reasons a team would instruct players to use an NDA.
If I were the Texans I would want anyone Watson shares team info with, like Avery, to have an NDA on record.
But if Watson were to use that same NDA for nefarious activity, that's not on the Texans.
It's like that old saying, guns don't kill, people do.

None. Which makes these depositions all the more interesting. I went back and looked at Rusty’s statement regarding April 1st. It’s easy to decipher Rusty was told about an indictment.
No it won’t. Nothing moves while The criminal element is ongoing. Otherwise Watson would have been traded first

It's anticipated that the criminal questions will be resolved in three weeks. Also, Phily seems interested enough that they've hired investigators to look into the Watson questions. If the criminal element is settled in Watson's favor, Phily may make an offer, before the draft. I'm not holding my breath, but things are heating up.
