Sexual Assault Suits Against Watson

Atorney Tony Buzbee said in an Instagram post Saturday that he will submit affidavits and evidence from several women alleging inappropriate conduct and sexual assault by quarterback Deshaun Watson to the Houston Police Department and the Houston district attorney on Monday morning.

Buzbee also said he will request a grand jury to consider the evidence.

The district attorney would decide whether to grant Buzbee's request for a grand jury. If granted, the grand jury then would decide, through witness testimony closed to the public, if there is enough evidence to succeed at trial and in turn determine whether charges should be brought against Watson by the state of Texas.

Do we have any lawyers or pretend lawyers on the board these days ? Infantrycak was the only one in these parts I knew of but of course he's long gone by now.
What's with Buzzbutt moving this to the Houston PD and District Attorney ? That's when it gets into the criminal justice system, right, but there's no money there for him and his clients ?
I dunno is this a bluff which is part of his strategy meant to induce a setlement proposal from DW4 ?

Wrong

And you're entitled to this opinion.

I just dont care for fake people and I've been blessed with a good eye for these type of people.

wish I was thus blessed. I tend to trust people too much because I generally like something about them but when my trust isn’t returned i tend to get too nasty on disclaiming them. Not proud of myself but god hasn’t kicked me in the ass hard enough to wise up.

I worked for Harris County in relations to the DA office. This is the normal process in which many times sexual assault claims are filed. Buzbee does not look to be joking or bluffing so if he does submit it, it will be in the State’s hands then.

And he said the Texans didn't know anything about these accusations.
I have a hard time believing the texans knew about none of the accusations. The rift between Watson and the team felt very personal from the beginning. With zero evidence to back it up, I think Watson went to the team when he was contacted to settle out of court.

I don't think they knew the extent, but I can't imagine they were clueless. Imagine what Goodell would have done to this team if Caserio fleeced another team in a Watson trade knowing that he may have pending legal trouble. We would be sanctioned for years. Just a couple of years without top picks has withered away our team.

And you did what? Worship Watson while at his best he lead a team to 4-12? @steelbtexan was critical of him throughout the way while folks like you bombarded him him with your personal baggage. Watson's good but he was never elite.
To be fair. If you are constantly bombarded in every thread with over the top criticism, subjective opinions, trolling, non-sensical logic, personal agendas and just being a contrarian for the sake of arguing, why would you take the critique serious? I don't see how any Texans fan can want to pat themselves on their back or want credit for "knowing" what has led to this mess.

So, this third eye of yours enables you to form opinions on people you've never met, interacted with or spent any significant time with? In the words of Uncle Ben, with great power, comes great responsibility. I hope you are putting this power to greater use than wasting it on the Texans.

If a grand jury indicts Watson he's in big trouble "criminally". You can have both civil and criminal proceedings concerning the same matter. If Watson is indicted I think it strengthens the civil case. If he is no billed I think it weakens it. It's interesting that Buzbee didn't want to solely leave it to the discretion of the DA. Not trying to read anything into that other than he felt more comfortable with the decision of 12 jurors... it take 9 to indict, than 1 DA.

I believe they knew something as well. I also think the Texans brass tried to advise Watson to put a cap on those off the field antics. A conversation between them and Watson’s mother about those off the field distractions. ( no matter who contacted who). Watson was furious about it and he tweeted, “ somethings never change”. Meaning the lopsided trade of his best bud/ brother/best weapon was being a bad influence. Hops baby momma was brought up and he was compared to Hernandez. Thus the reason why still today he’s butt hurt about what transpired. He even tweeted to Fuller today, saying I’m glad you got out of their twin.
The lawyer said Watson’s personal quarterback coach hooked him up with a massage therapist and a Texans coach did as well.

So yes I believe they had to know something.

I think it's true. They have to know that if it weren't true they would likely be caught in the lie as the details come out, so why take the chance. I believe Busbee has also said this is not about the Texans(parapharsing).

if SteelB had a whiff prior to DHop's trade, how could you buy the Texans' ignorance?

Well if the Texans wanted to play word games, "We became aware of a civil lawsuit involving Deshaun Watson through a social media post last night". They go on to say, "This is the first time we heard of the matter". I guess they could have known about everything but the lawsuit and the only matter they are referring to is the lawsuit. Are the Texans that clever?

Pretty sure that’s not how it works. In any criminal case the DA is going to be the prosecutor and they are the ones that push for grand juries over preliminary hearing because in a grand jury the defense isn’t present. You can’t bypass the DA’s office if it’s a criminal investigation.

I think they thought he might be hiring hookers which while illegal and looks really bad is no where near on the level of what Watson is facing now.

I'm not going to discount SteelB. For years I watched him take every kind of abuse you can get on a message board and not waver. Whether he actually knew something, formed an educated opinion or took a wild a$$ guess, he's the one that should be wearing the I told you so belt.

In this type of situation, they better be very clever. Because if they truly knew about these accusations ahead of time and was helping him cover them up. Woe is them, they will be up turd creek right along with Watson.

A lot of people think they knew and is using it because he wants out. To top it off Watson team told the world he’s will to sit out and play hardball.

Texans response was game on.

Who knows, so many ways you can spin this nonsense.

Why does this crap has to happen to Houston.

Some other interesting notes about Harris County grand juries(if it hasn't changed in 20 years). Attorneys are not allowed in the room. They only deal in matters that include felony level items. Everything is fair game, there is no this persons history can't be questioned. There is no time limit on reaching a decision, they can leave and come back to a case. They serve 90 day terms and review hundreds of cases.

I never meant they could "bypass" the DA. Every felony case goes to a grand jury. But normally it is the DAs office that has it first and brings it to the grand jury for the indictment. Buzbee requesting a grand jury right off the bat is a little unusual, in my opinion. We have seen DAs take cases to an anonymous grand jury to allow someone else to take the politcal heat. I think this is Busbee turning the screws even more.

I think it’s for the same reason natural disasters like Ike and Harvey happen to Houston. Because the city is strong enough to take it and come back fro more. texanpride:texflag:

LMAO

They traded Hopkins because of this kinda crap. Maybe not exactly, but I know for a fact DW4/Hopkins were living the hard life.
Expound on "hard life". I don't disbelieve you at all....just wondering what you've heard.

He had to. He’s said this is not about the money even though that’s the first thing he went after before making this public. He’s emphasized that this is about justice for the victims. He lied about being in contact with hpd now he has to do this to at least give the appearance of it “not being about money”.

Tbh at this point I really don’t know what to believe. I do think Buz is a snake, but I also find it curious that Watson procured the services of so many women who were not even considered to be very advanced in their field.

I could see if he didn’t use the Texans resources for massages because he just had a masseuse or two he likes a lot....but to just be hitting up random masseuses on Instagram is questionable.

At the same time, just in case anyone is not plugged in, a lot of prostitutes are on the internet posing as massage therapist. They can’t come out and say they are pros so they use words in their ads like “body to body massageor “table shower” or whatever. Not sure of all the lingo but I’m locked in enough to know some things about the culture. Some of these women actually do give legit massages on top of extras n the side.

Personally, to me it sounds like Watson was trying or did pay for sex. Whether or not any of these women were already offering sexual acts on the side is unknown to me. Whether or not Watson crossed lines with legit masseuses is unknown.

But just putting it out there that there are masseuses who do sexual or sensual massages and accept money for sexual acts.

I’d like to see some of the Instagram accounts or ads if they are still up from the massage therapists.
Because in my mind I’m pretty sure there was something sexual about these massages. Whether or not DW is a serial sexual assaulter or whether he’s just a trick is what I would like to know.

He possibly could've stiffed the women.

Some interesting points to ponder. Which ever side of the fence you may be riding with this Watson situation, Watson has to be concerned over the possibility of this going to court with conviction.

Most liability insurance either does not offer coverage for sexual assault conviction/settlement.....or very limited coverage.

Should he be convicted, he would be mandated to the sex offender registry. That would limit him to proximity to children.........an NFL QB that can't be near young fans??? Not to mention that his NFL career would likely be suspended long-term or even terminated. And that's not even to mention a potential onerous jail term.

If he isn't already, Watson should be sweating bullets over the many potential curves in the road that could derail his entire future.

That's a controversial take around these parts. We're not allowed to use our brains to connect these kind of dots for a bunch of reasons that amount to we're not allowed to use our brains.

Let’s not go their like that Max. Your opinion is well respected on here. However anyone wants to spin it. The bottom line is Watson messed up big time and he only has himself to blame.

Thanks for the advice. But I'll go anywhere I want, anyway I want. Get back in your lane buddy.

You’re in my lane as well there champ. Heck we’re all cramped up in this one lane called the Texanstalk board. You wasn’t attacked or disrespected, so being slick fingered is not necessary.

What's not necessary is you telling me what I should not be posting about and how I should not be posting about it. You want to discuss something, let's discuss it tiger.

The demographic is certainly important for winning a primary. Will still get dog-walked in the general, but he gets publicity until then.

It is another plank in what is driving the conspiracy narrative right now.

Like I said before, I don't think anyone is coming out of this well. Watson was up to some shady ****, Buzbee is an opportunistic Trumper douchebag, and the Texans were either covering up in the first place, or are throwing Watson under the bus for their own vanity.

Watson's value is crushed, but this is the same organization that gave away Duane Brown and D-Hop for nothing over bullshit reasons.

There's nothing wrong with being a "trumper".. The man got **** done. Sure as hell beats being the alternative..

Head coaches in the NFL walk around with targets on their backsides anyway, it comes with the territory. Personally I'm glad we're getting rebooted. The only real thing that still disturbs me about the Texans is Eastershit is still here. Culley seems fine to me, all the other choices we talked about in here always had something I didn't like about them. Culley I don't know sh!t about, which makes it easier to support the guy. For now. LOL
Culley and Eastershit are two peas in a pod.

Him being a Trump wanna-be politician is a bigger red flag than donations. You don't exactly need a tin foil hat to see how going after Watson helps him with a certain demographic. That is what fuels the conspiracy vibe.
Just stop. Yes he was obnoxious and hurt your feelings. That's better than hurting your family, your finances and your freedoms. Not a mealy mouthed bureaucrat interested in feathering his own interest. If you had a better understanding of finance and economics then and only then would you understand just how wrong you are. Take your ideology BS somewhere else.

Lord some people tend go straight freaking south for no darn reasons at all. Even when someone says your comments are well respected.
Dude, you started things off south. Try not to start a conversation with telling a person not to go where they went with their post and how they should do it and you'll get a better response. Some unsolicited advice back your way since you're in the advice giving mood. Sorry things went south and I appreciate your comment about respecting my takes. I respect yours as well. But stay in your lane about telling people what to post and how to do it.

Also, quite eerie how we haven’t heard a word else about Jack Easterby since Caserio was hired. Let’s you know where the fire Jack campaign was coming from, Team Watson. Hopkins sure had something to say back then. Now he is quiet. All these folks who had something to say about Jack are quiet now. It’s no coincidence. Jack knew something foul was happening. At least bad behavior.

And what’s more? You have barely heard a word or “sources say” about Cal either and him needing to resign for Watson to stay......

Not the Texans because I'm sure they have their own council by now, everybody is lawyering up.

So you are saying that the Texans intervened with some advice that DW4 felt was gratuitous but turns out if he'd have followed their
advise he might not be in this mess he finds himself in now ?
So it was known by some in the Texans organization that DW4 was making appointments with masseurs with intentions of getting something
much more that a "rubdown" ?
