Dabo Swinney on Deshaun Watson: “We are disappointed to see his name in the news and all that is going on”
**************************************
Without casting judgement, an acute rush of money has a way of changing some people.
Speaking of prostitution, did they ever clean up South Main? Used to always see those skanky gals at any time of day back in the 80’s.
Want to see someone explain the keyboards in that tweet. ???Want to see more of Watson defending himself.
I don't need to know how old you are to tell you that they were hanging out on Jenson before you were born. They started hanging out on Jenson (5th ward)
While this may be true, I’m thinking it’s probably a bad thing to say.Watson’s team tells KPRC he did have sexual encounters but it was consensual
They started hanging out on Jenson (5th ward)
OK that's fine, and yea it's well known that Florio has never been a fan of the Texans.Florio is trying to CYA, he was the one that "broke" the story of Watson wanting traded and how bad everything was with the Texans. Now its looking like his inside sources left a few things out so he's trying to still spin it back on the Texans and Buzbee.
On the one hand I assume Buzbee knows he doesn’t have evidence to support a conviction, which imo is why he filed civil cases.![]()
Watson lawyer responds to lawsuits; 16 now filed
With 16 lawsuits now having been filed against Deshaun Watson, his attorney said "any allegation" that the Houston Texans quarterback "forced a woman to commit a sexual act is completely false."www.espn.com
OK that's fine, and yea it's well known that Florio has never been a fan of the Texans.
But anyway, do you have any ideas why there are no other lawyers coming in for what could be a big payday ?
Sex crimes are often about power & control ..... Watson's probably always been in control (gotten his way) going back to that high school period Dabo is referring to being recruit to these major universities. He's likely never been told NO , you cant do this or that ..... He's used to things going how he wants. This is just an extension of that .... expecting never to be told No.

One wonders how many women, including college kids, threw themselves at and fawned over him.I see what you did there, good job! Nice play on words.
@Thorn, can i have some of what you’re having? I’m retired now too!
And I wonder how many college girls from his time at Clemson will come forward?
You say you could go on with other reasons ?Why would the women go to another lawyer? You’re not going to find one better than Buzbee and at this point I’d say he’s taking the case pro bono, or more likely he gets paid if they get paid, so you don’t have to have money up front. He’s already tied to the case and has the largest suit now so if you are someone that is looking for a pay day then you are more likely to get it through him or if you are looking for Watson to be punished again adding your case to whatever the count is up to now means it’s stronger than if you went in alone.
Also other lawyers maybe staying away from it for fear of attacks or bullying on them or their families. Buzbee and his family are personally set up in a way your average lawyer wouldn’t be. By the same token most lawyers wouldn’t want to go against Hardin, Buzbee is one of the few that would and enjoy it
Likewise there is no guarantee of this supposed big pay day. As of right now there is no big pay day as they have only sued for the court required minimal. Now will there be, yeah most likely, but there is nothing now or for the foreseeable future.
I actually could keep going with other reasons but you get the idea.
You say you could go on with other reasons ?
OK that's fine because so far I've found every you've said very unconvincing.
Rusty is just getting started. He will slowly shred each individual case. You can start to see it if you read his entire statement.
Buzbee is playing with fire. I have no idea of his background, but I know Rusty Hardin has a reputation like a pitbull. He never backs down from a fight.
All they have to do now is counter-sue.Rusty is just getting started. He will slowly shred each individual case. You can start to see it if you read his entire statement.

All they have to do now is counter-sue.
This will allow them to discover the identity of the particular accuser concerned.
When that happens, many of the cases will fall away and stop more being filed. Or greatly reduce them.
Watson may have used his fame to get so many women to jump at the chance to massage such a high profile person but that they jumped is not his fault.
By claiming that there was consensual sex involved in some of the claims is hardly surprising - one wonders what his girlfriend thinks of that though..![]()
Hardin said they figured out this particular woman.Who would they counter sue if they don’t know the identity of the women filing?
Buzbee is to, he’s almost at the level of Hardin. Thing is both of them win, a lot. What Buzbee has going for him though is that Hardin can’t shred each case if he doesn’t know the details of each case and in a civil case an accused does NOT have the right to face their accusers. Even in this one Hardin posted about he has no proof or way to know for sure it’s the same person.
I remember them being all up and down Jensen ..... literally from end to end.
Several other places around town too ....
I think they have all (most) moved to social media rather than walking the streets now days.
Civil cases have to meet an standard of "the preponderance of the evidence" whereas a criminal case has a much higher standard, which is "beyond a reasonable doubt." This is the reason that OJ Simpson was found guilty in his civil trial, and not in his criminal trial. That is correct with the DA, but there is a huge difference between criminal and civil. In a criminal trial it must not only be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, but you have to get a unanimous decision. In a civil trial I'll stop short of saying anything goes, but the prove beyond a reasonable doubt does not apply. If you can convice a jury your client deserves to be paid that's what's going to happen. And get this, you only have to convice part of the jury, it doesn't have to be unanimous. So even if a dozen women can't "prove" something, they would probably have more influence on a jury than one would in a civil trial. So as the dominoes continue to fall it gets worse and worse for DW.
You may already know this, but private attorneys don't prosecute defendants in criminal matters. The district attorney of the jurisdiction (here, Harris County) brings criminal charges against people. On the one hand I assume Buzbee knows he doesn’t have evidence to support a conviction, which imo is why he filed civil cases.
On the other hand I can’t imagine him going down this road with a he said she said argument.
Hardin said they figured out this particular woman.
If they counter-sue Buzzbee, won't he be forced to reveal the accuser?
This is a solid article comparing the two lawyers involved:
Prominent Texas attorneys clash in cases involving Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson
I just now got on this thread, and have no intention whatsoever of going back and reading it all from post 1.
But does anyone besides me find the timing of this just a little suspect? I mean, here we have Deshawn signing a huge contract extension, and then later saying he doesn’t want to play here anymore (and who blame him), with the new GM saying that trading him is not going to happen.
And this sex assault lawsuit business pops up. NOW!!!???
Anyone find that just a little too co - incidental?
(apologies if this is all been previously batted around)
The NFL is going to give him a hefty suspension for embarrassing the league like thisIt has been batted around. Some find it strange and some find it strange that the Texans, who are apparently all idiots, are supposedly now able to come up with a conspiracy that would make a Hollywood movie proud.
Ask yourself this also, do you really think that the McNairs, Caserio or even Easterby are so evil to destroy a person’s life like that and so stupid to destroy all value of their franchise QB?
Watson worth absolutely nothing to the Texans right now. No team will trade for him, assuming the NFL would even allow it, and there is a very good chance that guilty or innocent the NFL suspends him anyway.
Here is Florio's long piece about DW4 today 3/23: Potential coordination between Texans, Tony Buzbee doesn't mean there was a conspiracy - ProFootballTalk (nbcsports.com)Just for clarification, Mike Florio was a lawyer but gave up the profession to cover football. He is the founder and owner of PFT. You may already know this, but the way it reads I thought I'd offer some clarity.
I've watched Florio's coverage and he's just pointing out that it is odd to have all plaintiffs going through one lawyer. In past cases with other high profile defendants, there were multiple lawyers involved representing different plaintiffs. He's also not a fan of Buzbee's sensational style of media manipulation, but he figures that's about putting pressure on Watson to settle this out of court as soon as possible.
Florio has been very adamant that the Texans were not involved in any sort of conspiracy to smear Watson. It makes no logical sense and the potential penalties much too stiff to even consider such a tactic (plus I just don't see Caserio & Easterby doing something like that, all things considered).
Before the first case was filed Florio came out and said from “sources” that Watson left before it became uncomfortable for anybody. Now all of a sudden it was consensual sex. Here is Florio's long piece about DW4 today 3/23: Potential coordination between Texans, Tony Buzbee doesn't mean there was a conspiracy - ProFootballTalk (nbcsports.com)
Clearly you're not as clairvoyant late in the day as you're in the early morn. There's to much smoke here for there not to be a fire, except that no one's seen any real fire yet. Just the smoke. I keep waiting on something big to hit, like actual criminal charges being filed or a grand jury being seated. Wait, wait, wait.
It seems like that's all Texan fans ever do is keep waiting for something to happen.

Or Watson demanded a trade because he knew of the allegationsNo, I don’t see how it would benefit the Texans by diminishing Watson’s trade value?
But still... the timing of this is just hard for me to believe the Texans are not involved in this in some way. I keep thinking there is some kind of morality clause they are looking at to get out of that contract. I mean bailing out after the contract extension has been signed??
I don't think Watson was demanding to be traded at that time.
Interesting thing here. Watson’s team is claiming he was blackmailed in mid January right. On one case. Yet, he didn’t hire a lawyer. He didn’t go to the police. He demanded a trade. Makes you wonder.Doesn't matter ownership knew what was going on to some extent and only took a half measure when it came to taking out the trash.

Yep. It all makes sense now. Right around the trade request is when Easterby became a big problem and fire fire Jack campaign began. That came from Watson’s team. Pretty quiet on the Jack front now as well.Irony,
I dont believe in coincidences and I bet Buzbee wont either. This was Hardin's 1st attempt to throw crap against the wall and hope that it sticks.
This isn't going to turn out well for DW4.
Buzzbee for defamation.Again counter sue who and for what? You can’t just do a blanket suit and Hardin is trying to put a seed of doubt to counter all the media attention but he hasn’t shown and proof that it’s the same woman or that even even knows who the woman was. The 6th amendment right to face your accuser does not apply to civil cases.
Doesn't matter ownership knew what was going on to some extent and only took a half measure when it came to taking out the trash.
