Sexual Assault Suits Against Watson

Where is the morality in a average Joe with the same allegations going to jail but someone rich buying their way out? I’ll wait.
Let me honest, because you and many others aren't going to like this. Average Joe would never have faced a single lawsuit. The police would never have listened to any of these women's allegations about Average Joe had they come months/years after the fact with zero physical evidence. This only happens if the guy is rich and or a celebrity. This had to be someone like Deshaun Watson for Buzbee to take up the cause.

That doesn't obsolve Watson . That's just the way it is. Fame & $$$ can cut both ways.

Are owners subject to the CBA?

If any punishment is dished out, it's through the CBA. Completely legit.
So you don't think the system is broken? How can you see legitimacy in the hypocrisy of the repercussions of the players and owners behavior? What's the point of this anyway?

Frankly, Watson's lawsuits were the best thing that could happen to NFL owners this offseason. No one is talking about the Commanders sexual harassment accusations. Or owner Dan Snyder's larceny of season ticket customers. Or Stephen Ross' pay for tanking allegations. Or the Browns paying Hue Jackson for the same. Or Jerry Jones and his cronies peep shows. Or the Brian Flores lawsuit. Especially the Brian Flores lawsuit.

No, if Watson didn't exist, the NFL would have to invent him.

Exactly. When you consider that only Judge Robinson knows what her ruling will be based on. The only benefit of constantly taking what these "insiders" are posting is it makes a great feedback loop. For example:
  1. As input. Repost all articles, comments, social media posts or tweets from random joes, reporters or media personalities speculating/guessing on this case
  2. Based on the content of the input and your POV or opinion of the input source, apply your filter
  3. As output. Post your agreement, disagreement, outrage base on the filter applied in step #2
  4. Restart the loop by actively seeking input from sources who are totally speculating, biased, unbiased or carrying water for one side or the other and feed it as your input source in step# 1

I'm not guessing that he's a pervert and shouldn't be allowed to play NFL football until all present and future cases are settled.

If he isn't then God'ell can't ever use the tarnishing of the shield BS again.

Are the owners bound by the CBA?

Yes, I was just sitting here thinking about that.. Big Ben's situation was very similar.. I still remember a lot of fan backlash initially though . If he wins, nobody will care.

However where their situations differ is Big Ben's allegations didn't become public at the same time he was giving his franchise a big "**** you" either. Watson in the last few months has burned up alot of his leeway with the team already. It'll be interesting to see where this goes. His clean cut reputation has certainly taken a hit.

I will say this.. the Texans are exponentially more entertaining/interesting during the offseason than they were on the football field.
 The Texans are the best dark comedy show running..

Big difference is Big Ben had 2 complaints. Derrick has 24 and what could be up to 66 or more complaints out there waiting to be filed.

Does volume matter and does the sheer number of complaints tarnish the shield more or less than BigBwn screwing a girl with a down to F t-shirt on in the bathroom with an off duty LEO standing guard outside of said bathroom. This is really an Apples/Oranges situation.

Speaking of insanity the moderation of this situation by some is quite insane. Almost to the point of narcissism. Can't bring up Derrick's roots or the people who are from the same roots that are representing him. I guess I'm not Woke enough to post in this thread.

I've been told that a large % of victims never go public. So the real number could be 22. Or 24. Or 100.

We don't know for sure.

I bet you the number is much closer to 100 than 24. I'm guessing that the reason he didn't settle is that he didn't know how many women he perved on. When Sapp makes fun of you, saying 99 is 66 upside down, that should tell everybody what they need to know, considering Sapp's past history with polyprolaptics and hookers. LMAO, you can't make this stuff up.

Nope.

The average joe would have already been put in jail.

Watson’s NFL status, like other pro athletes who have gotten away with crimes such as murder, is helping him.

The Carolina Panthers owner was forced to sell after sexual misconduct charges came out.

Indy owner Irsay was fined and suspended for 6 games for drugs that a lawyered got down to a misdemeanor.

Snyder is on a yacht avoiding a subpoena to testify under oath before congress. Translation: Still under investigation. So yes - people talking.

Brian Flores lawsuit still ongoing that also includes the Browns ownership (lol) and Miami’s Ross.

Jerry Jones and Kraft got off. (Is there a joke there?) When your teams’ pay the bills and then some you get that privilege.

That is the difference in owning a business and being employed. No different than most business. Do as I say not as I do.

I think you are getting too deep over thinking it. You are pulling a Seth Payne. We all live in broken houses that were once made of glass chunking boulders at eat other. Nothing is perfect. You will find inequalities in everything such as politics, law enforcement, education, etc. Its the world we live in. And it ain’t changing. So don’t be so outraged.

You quoted a post that's almost 1 1l2 years old. How many women was that ago.. almost 20? Obviously that post isn't relevant anymore.

What's going to be relevant is when more women come out of the woodwork after these cases are settled and yes, there are more women out there just waiting to see how things go for the 3 women who refused to settle. Which begs another question, why do you think those women were unwilling to settle?

There was no official sanction by the NFL. And being forced to make $2.2 billion is a horrible punishment.

Being forced to sell the team that you didn't want to sell is punishment, regardless of how much the team sold for. Richardson was forced to do something he didn't want to do. You're focusing on the money and trying to downplay the repressions of his actions. (Shocking)

Yep, look at what MLB/Manfred did to the Astros/Luhnow vs what he did to the Yankees/Cashman. Sometimes life ain't fair.

Sounds like you are saying all sexual assault allegations are false…..that is exactly what it sounds like you are saying.

I was literally halfway typing the same thing and decided to just ignore it and deleted it.

Which I question yours. Because an average Joe with 9 grand jury complaints would have been indicted and in jail. This doesn’t just happen to athletes and that answer from you is somehow shocking. It’s ignorant.
I knew what I posted wasn't going to be popular. I didn't realize it would be that confusing.

It is not confusing. You said an average Joe would not have a single lawsuit (which is wrong, because it is hard to get a conviction without physical evidence, so civil court is where a sexual assault victim will go to get justice), nor would they be in jail. Yes they would, at least be arrested.

Nine of those complaints would not have been no billed for an average Joe. Why? Because a prosecutor is more willing to prosecute an average Joe than someone rich and high profile.

What lawyer is going to sue Average Joe. What's a third of a turnip worth exactly?

A lie, or not understanding the criminal justice process. Either way, that’s the worst take.

A pet peeve. Just because you disagree with someone, doesn't make them a liar. I hope we can agree on that, because indiscriminately and inaccurately claiming other members are liars will get posts deleted.

Have you ever met a lawyer?

The term “ambulance chaser” exists for a reason.

And it is why you have accidental insurance on your home owners policy if someone trips and tries to sue you.

People will sue for any reason and lawyers do it all the time.

People will argue for any reason. Some do it all the time.

Remember what we discussing originally? That the difference between Joe and Rich Guy is Rich's ability to "buy his way out"? If Joe can't buy his way out, no lawyer is going to waste time suing him.

People tend to change the subject when they are found to be wrong. They do it all the time.

Because he would be more likely to go to jail than someone rich and famous! That is LITERALLY what I have been saying. Someone rich and let’s not even say famous, is less likely to even be arrested.

Most sexual assaults go unreported. But, the ones who reported it a few years after the fact but still within the statue of limitations, the police don’t believe. Interesting take.
It's not about believing. It's about proving. Why do you think Watson was no billed in 2 courts?
