I forgot to link it. I go the info on my ESPN app. I too looked at it twice before posting, sounded like a ruse to me.I was expecting to see The Onion in the link
Or just before.Charged with vandalism and public intoxication after allegedly punching a hotel window.
Probably right after Warring was picked.
This should make OB's decision pretty easy.
Damn, not Texans worthy anymore.
Plus he was not all that.Probably was reading the writing on the wall and got really POed. Can't say I blame him, work most of your life to get where your at then boom, but dang man your making it easy for them to kick you to the curb by doing this. Bye, bye!
Probably thought he was going to retire a Texan.
I have never been a Griffin fan. But rather than funny, I find it tragic to see what must be a very personally emotionally traumatic Draft event transformed into a self-inflicted public humiliation.
We see that totally different. The emotional trauma was that of seeing his previously secure career potentially taking a downspin. In no way condoning his aberrant self-inflicted response, only empathizing with the event that most likely sparked it.He got drunk at the draft and punched a window. What’s emotionally traumatic about that? Let’s not spin him into the victim.

Sports are one of the few fields of employment where the employers hire your replacement yearly, very publicly, regardless of your production or tenure. I know many individuals don’t have any sympathy for someone making hundreds of thousands or millions for a game. However, the job security and career longevity is minimal. Players’ bodies are used and abused for our / the owner’s enjoyment and then disposed of at the GM/Coach/Owner whims.
I am not defending Griffin as a talent/player and saying he deserves a roster spot for life. But, hypothetically, if you were a mechanic who worked hard and gave a garage your all, coming to work at 6 AM and working daily to better your craft and garage, and then you see a local TV advertisement of your garage manager hiring your replacement before he told you, knowing you were likely to lose your job in the near future and that happened in a very public manner, many of us mechanics would have very personal and very deep rooted responses and thoughts.
He shouldn’t have drown his hurt in alcohol, because that never leads to positive end results. But to see your dream career and source of income possibly or likely yanked from under you, very publicly, would traumatize a lot of us.
All about being a professional. You can't be comfortable in your role as a professional athlete. Always have to carry that chip on your shoulder to earn your keep. Steve Smith's comments on Rosen are perfect and fit for Griffin as well. Your team drafted your replacement? Go compete and prove them wrong.

If a mechanic can't keep an airplane in the sky or a car on the road then I'm rooting for his ass to get canned and feeling sorry that he had to go through that process is a separate issue. Yes, athletes should be afforded the same empathy as other humans but not more. And it's also possible to feel empathy for his situation and to not empathize with the additional humiliation he brought on himself because of his farcical behavior. We're talking about him because he punched a window, not because he's going through a tough situation.Sports are one of the few fields of employment where the employers hire your replacement yearly, very publicly, regardless of your production or tenure. OK, that was chuckle worthy!Dearest Ryan
Don’t worry you dumbass, there’s a good chance the Texans will claim you once you’ve cleared waivers.
Last draft was not the same threat. We all knew that O'Brien always wanted 3 TEs for 3 TE sets. Fiedorowicz retired prior to the 2018 Draft and it was evident that Anderson was not going to be here.He got complacent. He should have known when we took 2 TE's last draft that they were trying to find ways to improve the position.
He should have bulked up and tried to improve his hands.
Welcome to the board!Very happy to see this guy gone. One of the worst blockers I've ever seen. Bad route running, bad hands, bad blocking. Why has he been around so long? Big fan of the site, best place for texans info. New here
