And that is where the comparison ends.
I knew this was a JFF fan right from the start. It was less about Hoyer than JFF. This dude probably had a stroke by now. lol
How many times are we going to say this?
And if Mallett had be named starter Hopkins would have said the same exact things.
Put me on the disappointed list as well. I said I would get behind whomever is chosen and I will. But I probably will not be watching games live this year after this decision. Being here in Asia these games are on at 1am or later, and I simply am not going to stay up that late to watch Hoyer unless he somehow starts lighting up. Instead I will wait until the following day and watch condensed, and no commercial breaks on NFL Game Pass. Takes about 30 minutes for a full game which is awesome. I can then watch a few other games in the time it takes to watch one live. This will be the first time I have ever missed a Texans game live. I have always wanted to see the game live. But this announcement has left me jaded as I feel we are repeating last season all over again. Maybe Hoyer is better than Fitzy. Will just have to wait and see I guess.
Hoyer seems frail to me, and I see him getting injured at some point, especially if he keeps taking sacks like he has been, or is out there running around trying to make plays. Hoyer tore his ACL sliding FFS. Never seen something like that before, until I saw RG3 dislocate his own ankle. So I expect is to see Mallett at some point this year, but would rather have seen Mallett start, then pull him for Hoyer if Mallet was not getting it done.
In the end, if Hoyer plays this season, and Savage comes on with Hoyer as the backup the rest of the way, I will not be as disappointed. I guess more than anything I wanted to see if Mallett has anything, and we are never going to know because the coach is playing it safe instead of going for it. I could see a trade this year of Mallett, or for sure he is gone next season. Someone will give him the keys tot he franchise, it just won't be our coach.
