Patriots under investigation

4 GAME SUSPENION AND FORFEIT #1 PIK IN 016 > ok THAT'S A PENALTY.
aPPEAL WILL KNOCK IT DOWN TO HOW MANY GAMES ?

Be surprised if an appeal would make a difference. Not with the crazy amount of investigation and the further deliberation. Would turn a cracker jack looking authority into the Keystone Cops.

And i bet some teams would take that tradeoff for a super bowl win :kitten:

Yep.

As far as what Garappolo will do, I think he's going to do just fine. I sure wish the Texans would have grabbed him when they had the chance.

And now NFL has announced it.

Tom Brady suspended four games,

Patriots fined $1 million,

lose two picks. 1st 2016, 4th 2017.

4 games without Brady: vs. Steelers, at Bills, vs. Jaguars, at Cowboys.

Though Tom Brady wasn't fined, he is scheduled to make $8 million this season. Being suspended 4 games costs Brady about $2 million.

October 18th will be quite a day here in Indy

Kraft: "Yeah, so what?"

let's seeee....

@ Dallas
@ Indy
-- NY Jets
-- Washington

Goodell must really be pissed to write off two marquee' matchups at the start of the season; Romo vs. Garappolo just doesn't have the same star power as Romo vs. Brady...?

I'm confused

he doesn't, this will get reduced drastically after the appeals process.

But it won't be Goodell doing the reducing. IF it gets reduced, it won't be the suspension. If there's a reduction I think it'll be one or both of the draft picks reinstated. Kraft or Belichick didn't have anything to do with deflate-gate so, in my mind, the loss of picks isn't really justified. This should have fallen all on Brady.

We can only hope they reduce it to 0 games, then a video pops up showing Brady to be as complicity as Ray Rice.... then Goodell has to suspend him for the year.

We all know how this goes.

Patriots appeal - suspension dropped to 3 games. Garoppolo starts games 1 through 3, throws 12 TDs and no INTs. At the end of the season the Patriots trade Garoppolo for 2016 and 2017 first round picks.

:hankpalm:

just think how embarassing it would be for the texans if the pats were to have a better record than the texans after the first 4 games and without brady (even tho we know it won't stay 4 game suspension)

OK, so if Brady loses $2 million, doesn't that also save the Patriots $2 million? Then, couple that with their $1 million fine, and they come out ahead by $1 million? Surely that's not right...

No, the money from fines goes into a predesignated slush fund

Probably the most realist one I saw was one with Brady

And it said something to the affect. "yeah I am suspended for 4games but still going for that 5th ring"

But there are some funny ones out there lol

Michele Steele @ESPNMichele
Robert Kraft: "it was our intention to accept any discipline... Today's punishment, however, exceeded reasonable expectation"

Said he would accept league punishment... changed his mind.

Not a man of his word. Surprised not.

My shakey memory aside, I think the CBA designates money from fines and suspensions be turned over to the account which takes care of old veterans. But once again, I could be remembering baseball.
