Bye bye Savage.... I ALMOST don't care if Yates throws a bunch of INTs in the second half, the mere fact that he can MOVE makes him the better choice.

You can see it in one drive that Yates is better than Savage in so many ways and Savage has no pluses.

Somebody missed an obvious concussion to Savage. Following his head bouncing off the ground, both of his arms went up in the air with his hands flexed and spastic muscular tentany.............classic "fencer's" pose for concussion. Our medical staff and neurologist need to be reviewed/re-evaluated carefully . The Concussion Protocol continues to be a joke.

Texans Christmas wish list:
A first-round pick and second-round pick.
Scrooge up in Cleveland took them away from us.
Tight ends, running backs and a kicker.
Good health for Watson, Watt and Mercilus.
More depth on the offensive line and secondary.

I don't know if Santa can work a miracle like this.
We're going to need "A LOT" of help going into 2018

I'd sit Savage the rest of the season.
He has taken a couple head hits recently and we aren't going anywhere anyway.

I can’t stand savage but his hand was seizing and he shouldn’t have been out there after that hit. I felt bad for him. But I understand why he puts himself out there to show for his next team.
 
Yates is a "do it ugly" guy but like many have said he's a baller. The key part of that is that he tends to get it done. Savage is apparently a guy who looks good and efficient in practice but no matter how pretty a ball he throws every now and then he just doesn't get it done. It's as simple as that. He's never going to put it together and be the guy. He's more of an impersonator than anything else.

Hmm. I would tryout every kicker that's a free agent.
The guy we have has missed an EP today, two FGs last week.

Ka'imi Fairbairn has become unreliable. Although he made a 53-yarder.
 
Jimmy G is a keeper. He's able to process info quickly and react under pressure quickly. Unlike Savage who misses free blitzers in his face every game.
 
Quick question: Will a 4-12 record in 2017 be enough to get Rick Smith or Bill O'Brien fired this off-season? Or will the season-ending injury to Deshaun Watson give them a free pass for this season?

With Watson at quarterback we can compete with anybody. Throw in a healthy Watt and Mercilus and we're likely a really good team that's capable of making some noise in the playoffs.

But Bill O'Brien said there really wasn't much that differentiated the QB's in that class and we got Tom Savage.

I'd bet on free pass. That's McNair's MO on seasons like this.

Happened to Savage before and a couple MB members couldn't believe it happens.
 
Agree... everyone "gets" a pass this season because in McNair's mind, we're undefeated and SB bound w/o the injuries

Who did we cut last year in preseason??? Oh yeah the Rice kicker that now starts for Pittsburgh and has hit game winning field goals. Another great job of talent evaluation.

I want to keep T.J. Yates as a backup QB for Deshaun Watson next season. Tom Savage is a free agent: Good luck to him elsewhere. I'm sure some other team will pick him up as a backup. We can sign an undrafted free agent to groom for a third-string QB (practice squad guy).
