NFL Random Thought of the Day

King tore someone a new one..........I quote just part of the article below, but it's worth ready it in total!

Peter King tees off on Bill Belichick’s book tour

“This is a guy who owned every room he ever walked into and now he’s got a 24-year-old muse telling him what to do or trying to control situations that quite frankly she has nothing to do with or should have nothing to do with,” King told Deitsch, via AwfulAnnouncing.com. “Bill’s got to get a hold of himself here. He’s got to get a hold of this situation. This is embarrassing. It’s totally embarrassing for a guy who’s as great at his job as he is.”

King specifically had an issue with the manner in which Belichick presented himself for the interview with CBS.

“Bill Belichick, to promote a book, goes on Sunday morning television for however long it was, say 10 minutes, but goes on Sunday morning television with a sweatshirt on with a hole in it,” King said. “Look at the video of it. He’s got a Navy sweatshirt on that has a hole in it. . . . Why does TMZ have him walking out of the Ritz-Carlton hotel I think in New York in a perfectly tailored blue suit. Why? Where’s he going? And why is he on a national TV show looking like he’s going to a press conference in Foxboro on no sleep and then he walks out of a hotel going wherever he’s going. . . . That was a terrible look in the first place. . . .

“But in general, if you’re going to be promoting a book or you’re going to be doing interviews, you can’t be the sullen, disinterested person that Bill Belichick was for CBS. You just shouldn’t do it then. Why do it?”

Graham Walker, half-brother of Patrick Mahomes, gets tryout at Chiefs rookie minicamp
Published May 4, 2025 04:10 PM

The Chiefs are conducting a rookie minicamp this weekend. With 87 players participating — 60 on a tryout basis — it’s hard to stand out.

One player has a built-in advantage.

As noted by ArrowheadPride.com, Rice tight end Graham Walker is taking part. He’s the half-brother of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The son of Pat Mahomes Sr., Walker transferred to Rice last year, with the initial plan to play receiver. He later switched to tight end.

Walker, listed at 6'3" and 227 pounds, caught 24 passes for 252 yards in 2024. In 2023 at Brown, Walker had 44 catches for 515 yards and six touchdowns.

His best season statistically came as a freshman in 2021, when Walker caught 53 passes for 658 yards and six touchdowns.

Remember those trades Jerry Jones was working on? It’s been crickets ever since
Published May 4, 2025 08:41 AM

Step right up, ladies and gentlemen. Boys and girls. Children of all ages. It’s the greatest show on earth.

Even if, for 30 years now, we’ve got not a damn thing to show for it.

Fans and media have begun to wake up to the notion that Cowboys owner and G.M. Jerry Jones is more carnival barker than trophy chaser. It’s not about winning, it’s about being interesting. And he always finds ways to be interesting.

Two days before the draft started, Jones grabbed the spotlight by claiming that he was working on “two pretty substantive trades” that could happen “before or after the draft.”

One week and one day since the draft ended, we’re still waiting. It’s almost as if he never even said it.

It may have been exactly what we thought it was: An attention grab at a time when people were paying attention to things other than the Cowboys.

And it worked. He created a headline. Made a stir. And then failed to deliver.

Maybe it’s still coming. Maybe he’ll find the right time to give everyone an update. Even if there’s no update.

At this point, it makes sense as to most veterans to wait until after June 1. That will result in a lower cap charge in 2026.

And that would be the perfect thing for Jerry to say. Especially at a time when so much of the NFL news and rumor churn has been focused on anything and everything but the Dallas Cowboys.
