NFL Random Thought of the Day

The Browns originally reported that TE David Njoku sustained an "ankle sprain." But reviewing the play, I would be surprised if the actual injury is not in fact a high ankle sprain.

I wonder if the Texans could get a 2nd rounder from the Giants for Mills. Daniel Jones just straight up sucks as an NFL QB.

At 35M, 30M, and 46M while 81M is guaranteed…..the Giants are going to have to embrace the suck. No one will trade for Jones, so the only option is to let him lead them to 3 years of great draft position or dump him.

Stephen A actually destroys Watson around 3:56

As was stated................"this did not look like a Stefanski-called offensive game"!

What is it they everyone's missed?? Doesn't anyone remember that the Browns announced last year that Watson would be given free hand in calling/controlling the offense?

Stupid begets stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'He has the ultimate trust from us': Browns see QB Deshaun Watson begin to take control of offense

Posted 7:52 AM, Aug 24, 2023

The Browns are gearing up for their final preseason game against the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. Watson and most of the starters will take the field for around 20-25 plays, giving Watson another chance to show his control of the offense, which he said the Browns have handed to him.

“AVP [Alex Van Pelt......OC] and Kevin [Stefanski] gave me the keys and they're letting me control a lot of things that we do on the field, along with them play calling in the headset and being able to see things that I can check out too," Watson said.

This is what happens when you let a dumb pervert take over total control of your org. Derrick's incapable of learning the WCO. He's a playground QB who's going to run that franchise into the ground and also get Stephanski fired. Couldn't happen to a better class of despicable owners and their despicable QB.

Derrick wanted to do to the Texans org what he's done to the Browns org. BTW, whats the great Quincey Avery been up to these days?

Kelce could retire tomorrow and walk right into the HOF, I don't think he cares what Whitlock has to say. He is 34 (35 in a couple of weeks), Rob Gronkowski retired at 32.. Why didn't Jason compare him to Gronk? It's not really fair to compare anyone to Tony Gonzalez.. That guy obsessively took care of his body and what he put in it.. still does.

To be fair no one in their right mind cares what Whitlock has to say..

I was thinking the same thing. What is the damn rule, anyway?
Not to mention, I already thought Stroud had the first down before he initiated his head first dive.. Also like you said, when did diving head first become "giving yourself up".. If that's the case how the hell can you even call a QB sneak. NFL refs and their consistency has gotten worse since the ref lockout.

There's nothing in the down by contact rules that says anything about a head first dive.

when a runner declares himself down by:

falling to the ground, or kneeling, and clearly making no immediate effort to advance.
sliding feet-first on the ground. When a runner slides feet-first, the ball is dead the instant he touches the ground with anything other than his hands or his feet.

Stroud wasn't falling to the ground, kneeling or sliding feet first. He was diving for the 1st down marker. A blown call.

DeMeco has a lot to mail to the league office.. the handling of the last play of the half needs to be explained too. That could've been handled a lot better.

Yup Mr Taylor Swift looks more and more like a JAG with each passing week.
After all being an international globe-trotting star, or effectively married to one, is
full time work, so he's gonna have to make a serious career choice before long.
Wish we had a JAG TE that put up 984 yds just last season, not including 116 yds and a TD in the conf champ game and another 93 yds in a SB win while totaling 32 rec for 355 yds and 3 TDs in 4 playoff games..

I saw a JAG the other night vs the Ravens and not the SB TE we all saw in the previous NFL
season: 3 catches, right ?
