Tony Buzbee to represent victim of alleged assault involving Alvin Kamara
August 22, 2022, 4:21 PM EDT

Saints running back Alvin Kamara is bracing for an eventual six-game suspension and, more immediately, a lawsuit. The lawsuit officially is on the way.
Tony Buzbee, who represented 23 women who settled with Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson and who continues to represent the one woman who yet to resolve her case, has announced that he’ll be representing the man who was allegedly beaten by Kamara and others on Pro Bowl weekend in Las Vegas.

“Darnell Greene, the victim viciously assaulted while attempting to enter an elevator at The Cromwell Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas in February 2022, by New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara, Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Chris Lammons, and others, has retained attorney Tony Buzbee and The Buzbee Law Firm, of Houston, Texas, to assist in the investigation and to pursue legal claims,” Buzbee’s firm said in a statement.

“Currently, the authorities in Las Vegas are considering charges against Kamara and the others who took part in the brutal beating. The Buzbee Law

Firm is actively collecting information regarding the assault, and has asked that all witnesses who have information to come forward. It has been reported that the assault was caught on security camera.”
Kamara already faces felony battery charges.

“The attack on Mr. Greene was unprovoked and extremely violent,” Buzbee said. “We call on the appropriate authorities to exact swift punishment against all parties involved in the attack. We also encourage the NFL to take immediate action. As appropriate, we will make Mr. Greene available to the authorities and the NFL, to the extent they wish to speak with him.”

Buzbee’s firm said a lawsuit is being prepared. Greene allegedly suffered spina injuries and a “severe traumatic brain injury.” He is, per the release, “still recuperating and is undergoing active medical treatment in Houston, Texas.”

The NFL told PFT last week that it continues to monitor the situation, but that there is no change in Kamara’s status.

He’d be a good compliment to Pierce…

Drake's poor ankles have taken a hell of a beating over the years.............2016 fracture dislocation of his left ankle..............a couple of high ankle sprains in 2020 and 2021..........topped off with another fracture dislocation of his right ankle the end of last season.

With his ego, don't expect any favors in the contract category. With his injury history, I wouldn't be to quick to anticipate elite performance this season, but would be somewhat wary of him adding to his lower limb "head count."

Detroit has placed WR Jameson Williams on the reserve/non-football injury list, which means he’ll be out for at least the first four games of the season. But according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, Detroit expects to have Williams back around midseason. Williams tore his ACL in the CFP National Championship Game while playing for Alabama in January. He underwent surgery Jan 18.

Kayvon Thibodeaux is getting second opinion on his knee injury from Dr. James Andrews. The teams reports an MCL sprain. It is actually a grade II. The team says that he will be ready for week 1. That rush to see him back for the very beginning of the regular season seems at least 1 week too soon. My feeling is that Thibodeaux is seeing Andrews to determine if an arthroscopy of his knee should be performed to detect articular or meniscus damage that cannot be as accurately detected and assessed by MRI. Even small ACL tears can be missed (~20%) without arthroscopy.

Good info.

I know we want to be up there with Patriots, Ravens, & Steelers. And I hope that is the Texans goal. But I judge them on where they are to those teams in relation to where Cleveland, Jacksonville, & Carolina. Since they’re the newest expansion teams before the Texans.

That said, San Francisco, & New Orleans were in rough shape in 2000 & have done very well since (Dallas & Oakland were also in bad shape & haven’t done so well since)

McClay of Dallas is a great evaluator of talent. If Jerry ever got out the way, they would have something.

McClay can draft his arse off ! They could've had the wonderkid McVeigh, but Jerry didn't want to give up control of the 53.
Like I said, they’ve had some of the most talented teams since 2000. If it were me, I wouldn’t be worried about control of the 53.

The Cowboys and Dak now have a terrible problem.....................Tyron Smith went down in practice with essentially a non contact injury. By video, he immediately grabbed the area just below the knee. He appears to have suffered a ruptured hamstring. Would surprise me if this is not season ending. Also keep in mind, nearly one third of hamstring tears recur within the first year following return to sport with subsequent injuries often being more severe than the original.

Former Chiefs QB Len Dawson who I grew up watching in KC has died at 87 years old. RIP, Lenny
Yep he played on some good teams in KC, and started and played in a couple SBs including the first SB ever and the Chiefs did win the second one vs the Vikings so he and the Chiefs went .500 in their SB appearances.
I always thought Dawson was very comparable and an equal to Montana as neither had the shot-gun arm of an Elway but they were both very accurate and Mr. cool under the gun.

I dunno what would ole Jer give up in picks for a Laramy Tunsil right about now if this injury does in fact turn out to be season ending ?

Ah man this could be fertile ground for Buzzbutt because he's got not one but two, count them two NFL franchises he can potentially shake down.
I'm telling you this year is turning out to be a bonanza for Buzzbutts favorite causes - his bank account and ego cause with a couple high-profile and well-healed NFL organizations like this gonna get a lot of face-time on national TV.

His distal hamstring tear took with it a piece of the bone in the knee which it was attached to.

Although there are reports that he could be back in December, I would definitely not count on it.

Tyron Smith's injury is rare, and most likely hamstring involved is the biceps femoris and the involved bone, the head of the fibula. As this injury is rare to begin with, for it to be an isolated injury would be even rarer.

Maybe LT- Tyron Smith and their 2023 RD1. If a RD1 is too rich, I'd settle for a RD2. The Cowboys may be getting 3 COMP picks in 2023 as well. I'd have Smith sit out until Week 16 at minimum to ensure his injury has healed just to get him acquainted to the Texans OL on the field. Texans would have him for 2023 which might be a great time to find a new LT in next years draft and give him a season or two behind Smith instead of Tunsil.

So you want a busted up and continually hurt LT that may never be right again for a pro bowl LT and a 2nd rd pick

Man I'm glad Caserio is running the team and not you.

If this (the records below the video of Brissett) turns out to be accurate (which it won't, but might be close), the Texans would have the 2nd and either the 7th or 8th overall picks in the 2023 draft. Considering there are a lot of guys drafted by the Texans in the 2022 draft with injury concerns already, they could probably use all the help they can get in the way of high (and/or many) draft picks in the next few years.

The man is good at his job.

Somebody needs to get these POS to pay for their actions. Ask yourself this, if you were getting in an elevator and this happened to you, would you want Buzbee representing you?

Man I wish Buzbee would have won the mayor's race
Well yea you got me there Steel because if I was gonna go after somebody legally speaking he'd be high on my list
of attorneys.

Tyron Smith is a great loss for the Cowboys in that in last year, he logged very high grades in pass and run blocking. But over his last two seasons, he has missed 20 games and hasn’t played at least 16 games since 2015. Not someone I'd take over Tunsil, especially after this last injury that may not only likely wipe out this entire season, but also likely have a negative effect on his future.

Another fine addition to the NFL....... :mcnugget: Haslam should be salivating to make him a Watson bunk mate.

Matt Araiza is sued for gang rape
Posted by Mike Florio on August 25, 2022, 6:54 PM EDT

Bills rookie punter Matt Araiza, who has quickly risen to fame with a strong leg and a catchy nickname, faces a very serious off-field issue before his first NFL game.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Araiza is among the defendants in a civil lawsuit alleging gang rape. The other defendants are Zavier Leonard and Nowlin “Pa’a” Ewaliko. All three men were San Diego State football players at the time of the alleged incident.

The incident allegedly occurred last year, at an off-campus party. The alleged victim was 17 years old.

Araiza’s lawyer said the accusation is false, and he accused the plaintiff of making a “money grab.” (As we recently learned in the Deshaun Watson case, it’s always a money grab, until it isn’t.)
“It’s a shakedown because he’s now with the Buffalo Bills,” Kerry Armstrong told the Times. “There is no doubt in my mind that Matt Araiza ever raped that girl.”

There is an ongoing criminal investigation of the incident. No arrests have been made, and San Diego police have not publicly identified any suspects.

The Times previously reported that the university failed to alert the campus community about the alleged incident, and that the school waited more than seven months to launch an investigation.

“We were recently made aware of a civil complaint involving Matt from October 2021,” the Bills said in a statement to the Times on Thursday. “Due to the serious nature of the complaint, we conducted a thorough examination of this matter. As this is an ongoing civil case, we will have no other comment at this point.”

The NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy does not apply to incidents occurring before a player enters the NFL, either via the draft or by signing as an undrafted free agent. However, such allegations can become relevant to the punishment imposed for any off-field misconduct occurring after the player joins an NFL team.

This is why women don’t come forward

1. University waited 7 months to launch an investigation. Translation - they waited to see if the complaint would go away

2. Women are call gold diggers looking for a money grab

3. The woman in question will be asked what was she wearing, did she “ask” for it, did she just have too much to drink

It will be interesting to see how the penalty of a gang rape compares to 23 sexual assault allegations.

These types of players, like Watson, should have no place in the NFL.

I wonder if someone is going to say this is fake outrage? No - probably because it is a punter and not a QB.

Haslam and the Browns have found their punter of the future. One who deserves a second chance.
