NFL Random Thought of the Day

Not the Rams??
I'd rather see them move west than San Diego move north (well, it is a teeny bit north :) ).
LA SHOULD be the Rams. It was when I was growing up and the Cardinals will always be ST. LOUIS to me. Just like the Colts should be BALTIMORE. I think franchises should be awarded to CITIES or OWNERS without the right to relocate.

From what little I've been hearing, St Louis is the only city working to keep their team. They haven't come up with a deal both the city & the NFL has agreed upon, but they're working on it.

Oakland & San Diego hasn't done diddly, like they couldn't care less. Giving the NFL the middle finger salute.

Watching the game last night, I was reminded how cool those raider fans are. The place was packed, the fans were into it... For a chance at 8-8

I really think LA should just be a soccer town and the NFL should just drop their drooling. LA has shown it is UNWILLING to support a team so why bother? Forget the market and just move on.

Why bother?
No TV sales force, especially one as money hungry as the NFL, would walk away from the #2 TV market in America.

^^^^ This. And LA will support a winner, they may not sell out a 93k stadium every week, at least not one like the Coliseum. A new stadium they can get to probably

They haven't been there for 21 years, so what difference does it make? In fact, look how much success the NFL has had the last 21 years without the LA market.

I get the NFL being a money grubbing machine, and yeah, they likely still want to be in LA, but they're doing just fine without them.

Yep and they've been trying, hard, to reclaim that market since they lost it. Remember in 2002, we were their 2nd choice. They did their damnedest to give the last franchise, our franchise, to LA. But Uncle Bob showed up with money and a plan and LA didn't.
They won't ever quit trying to swap out one of the smaller markets for the LA market.

I agree, but it's a shame they are trying so hard for a city that doesn't appear to actually want them. Unrequited Love?

No, more like the mega profitable account that got away from 'the firm'.
They'll always be trying to win it back.
Any company would.

Anybody interested in WR Alshon Jeffrey? More than likely gonna be a FA after this year

Knee surgery in 2012.......has been intermittently hampered by ankle issues. The past 2 years in the preseasons and regular seasons, injuries getting much more continuously with him being unable to shake hamstring issues.....losing a very significant amount of practice and game play. This past year specifically has added calf and groin strains to go with his hobbling ongoing hamstring problems......all of this in a year where the Bears have introduced a revolutionary concentrated program to prevent soft tissue injuries.

You would do better to buy a Jeffrey bobblehead and set it on the Texans bench......much cheaper.........and won't take up any room on the bench............or the roster.

FWIW, Belichick said he told him to kick off "because it was the best thing to do"

Good coach, falling on the sword like that. Taking the heat off the player, so the player can focus on next week.

But you can tell by the look on his face, that he wasn't "told" to defer.

I think the Cardinals are most complete team in the NFL. Man are they going to be a tough out come playoffs.

Please tell me someone else just saw that 3rd down play by the Jags.

Bortles in shotgun. 3rd & 6 I believe. Bortles is making calls and center snaps the balls. Ball hits Bortles in the groin region. On the bright side he recovered the ball.

random thought ... just heard Indy lost Whitehurst for the year with a hamstring injury. Hasselbeck is hurt too right. Who will play QB for them? Crazy how the season has unfolded for Indy and HOU in regards to the QB. Big difference being that the Colts get Luck back next year and we get Hoyer. Sigh.

They're down to Stephen Morris now, a guy they signed off the Eagle's PS, iirc.

There's no guarantee that they'll get 2014 Luck and not another 2015 Luck, but yes I know what you're saying. Eff it. We took advantage of the opportunity.

Denver needs a single offseason to go full dynasty with Elway running the show. Peyton comes off the books if I'm reading his deal correctly, big contracts keeping the defense together and Kubiak gets to claim the draft and cheaply sign/trade his offense. Freak injuries always happen, but they're so dang deep everywhere on defense that they can handle it better than anyone else. A couple young linemen, a back that fits the system (Foster trade?) and an offseason with whoever's going to throw the ball is going to be dangerous. Brock knocked off the Pats with his second start - ever. Give him or a draft pick a camp of first team reps and we've seen what the system can do.

Ok. I'm officially drunk. I can't follow. (kidding my friend :D)

I wonder if there is porn on the net.

I've talked highly about McMannis's form, but he was busted long before the 'game winning' kick. It was obvious that it was fear that the cameras saw, not focus. I'm surprised that the kicked stayed in the field of play - his eyes were gone and a miss was inevitable. As mildly telestrated, his form was FUBAR. Again, as I've talked about here repeatedly, I effuse approach - from experience. Commentators aren't wrong comparing it to a golf swing ... if you're Happy Gilmore. The replay and commentary points out some of what was wrong with the kick - especially his plant being way too far forward. It also demonstrates how ignorant a coach is to what goes into the kick.
