NFL Random Thought of the Day

Kubiak's house of cards is coming down.

Oakland is leading Denver 15-12 with around ten minutes to go in the game.

Lots of drops in that game. QB and defense were not the problem. Vernon Davis is garbage. D.Thomas has had the dropsies this year.

Oakland isn't ready to contend yet but damned if their cupboard isn't nicely stocked.

Didn't see the game. Thanks for the good info. :toast2:

Khalil Mack is turning into an all pro before our very eyes. I'm still so pissed we didn't trade back a spot or two for anything, and pickup Mack. He was the answer, he would have been a perfect fit for our team. Damn damn damn damn damn!

Should have just drafted him #1 instead of Clowney. He's just as good an athlete, has a much more versatile skill set, and fits our defensive system better.

I had him selected 1:1 on my mock draft that year. Still chaps my ass.

Same here.

At #1, I thought we should have taken whichever QB we had rated the highest, which was Bortles for me.

But in the event that we didn't like any of the QBs (which obviously occurred) I would have taken Mack over anybody else in the draft.

Ryan Mallett has retched an agreement to sign with the Ravens. I'm on my phone, don't know how to paste the link.

Man. Giants fans representing in Miami. When NY scored the cheer was so loud I had to do a double take just to make sure the game was in south Florida.

I was thinking the same thing.

They showed Don Shula just before the half and he looked ancient. Damn, we're all getting old.

He did look very old. He was in a NutriSystem commercials about couple of years ago and he looked at least 20 years younger than tonight even though he is 85.

I sure like the old school uni's the Dolphins are wearing. Orange trim and that darker-colored aqua (or whatever) looks so much better than their current uni's.

Good game. I picked the geeeeEEEEeee men so they're sure to lose...lol.

over under on if Foster will be playing with the NE Patriots in a year or 2 or san deigo

Better question is will he be playing at all. The end is near. Just turned 29 in August. Oft injured, high mileage, good opportunities post NFL.

OMG. Aaron Donald is simply unblockable on TNF. It's like watching a shorter version of Watt. He's s actually has better balance and leverage because of his size. Imagine those two on the same line.

I think it's actually great for football that those two unstoppable force are not teammates because fans might not see how Bortles and Marriotta developed since they won't survive the constant QB hits.

Ben Roethlisberger does this cool weird thing where he pumps the ball, but it's a fake!

Really cool idea!

Is there any way Beckham DOESN'T get suspended? I'm not sure what crew was refereeing, but I agree with every outlet that said he should've been ejected - repeatedly.

Heck of a talent, but his hype is getting out of hand. Hopkins has better catches without a quarterback, and is relegated to running the same fade route 40 times a game ... guru.

So the league usually hands out fines and suspensions on Tuesdays right?
Launching himself to pull off that headshot should bring at least a one-game suspension.

Beckham should have been hit with flags 10 times before that. Horrible officiating.
Oh, no doubt about it.
I picked that play because the league has "placed increased emphasis" on leaving your feet to make a hit. But Beckham has become one of their little 'darlings' and I want to see if Goodell will punish one of his favorites like the he would the rest. Didn't D-Hop get fined last week for a play that few of us can point to? Let's see what happens to Beckham

The referee was Terry McCauley.

I didn't see the game, so I might have missed quite a bit, but watching these replays the Panther players should be embarrassed. To have someone coming at your teammate like that all game, and nobody steps in? Odell should've been crushed by a safety or two repeatedly before it got to the point that it did. I'd be pissed if I was Norman.

Somebody made the comment on the post game show about reason he wasn't kicked out is because he is a star player (they mentioned it twice during the segment)
I couldn't find a reason to argue that.

One game isn't enough for his antics. I guess some players are bigger than the game

That's the conversation that I'm hearing as well. Had it been a defensive player he would've been ejected, and the penalty would've been more severe.

To the NFL, it's all about the money.

1 game suspension given. Not enough IMO, should've been done for the season.
One game is sufficient with a warning that the next will be a MINIMUM of 4 games for the same infraction. He was goaded and I hope the opponent at least receives a fine for the body slam.

The Panthers were up 35-7 at one point. They were doing their talking with their play. Once they started reacting to Beckham is when the Giants' comeback started. Beckham did take a lot of punishment in that game. No more than he deserved obviously, but the Panthers let his antics get into their heads, and that contributed to their defense coughing up a huge lead.

I don't think it has anything to do with Beckham specifically. I don't think any offensive player would be ejected in that situation, but a defensive player would be ejected before it even got half as bad as the referees let it get.

The NFL has a consistent pattern of being very lenient on offensive players compared to defensive players.

I want to agree but stay within the rules. The NFL is not the street. Line up JJ on him...5 yds baby.

I'm also in the 1 game suspension isn't enough crowd. If you think running at full speed and launching yourself at someone helmet-to-helmet is minor, then give the guy a 1 game suspension. If you think it could have done serious damage to Norman then you have to suspend Beckham the rest of the season at least. You have to send a message that that crap isn't tolerated.

Bingo!!
Like I hinted at above, Goodell won't really punish his favorites.

Oakland has some nice pieces for the future. I like their RB Murray. Has a nice one cut and run style. If they upgrade their lines and pick up a couple more studs, they're gonna be a tough out in the AFC.

Phillip Rivers reminds me on Dan Marino. Dude can fling the ball. No RB to speak of. One real pass catching option. Still throws the ball all over the field. Won't ever win a championship due to FO failures.

They do have a good young squad. Good young pass rusher in Mack too.
Wonder if they'll be the ones who end up going to LA?

QB, WR, RB, LB are solid for them. Losing Woodson's leadership will hurt since they're so young but man is that arrow pointing up for them.
