NFL Random Thought of the Day

I think he's in a relationship with those Daaablecheck guys.

In Grill Class seating...

Reports coming in that Aaron Rodgers is gay. Sources say he had a relationship with his former male roommate.

Could be a Bears fan.

I could buy that.

Now I really feel violated the way he reamed us last year.

Honestly, I couldn't care less. He's proven to be more of a man than half the puCees who don't make it.

Anyone else hearing news that really should not be news but would be massive news about a QB who wears Green & gold?

[San Diego Head Coach] Mike McCoy has been in the playoffs with three different QBs the last three years -- Tim Tebow, Peyton Manning, Philip Rivers.

A.J. Jenkins, Brian Quick, Stephen Hill, Ryan Broyles, Rueben Randle, DeVier Posey, T.J. Graham, Mohamed Sanu all taken before T.Y. Hilton

Fun fact: the leading receiver from the 2012 draft is T.Y. Hilton, the 13th WR off the board.

Fun fact: the leading receiver from the 2012 draft is T.Y. Hilton, the 13th WR off the board.

According to some of the rumors, one of the bones of contention was that Rick Smith wanted to take TY Hilton and Kubiak wanted Posey.

Really? Is there a source? Would be pretty interesting...

I don't remember where I saw it. It was one of the articles written immediately after Kubiak was fired. I took a look on Chron.com and HoustonTexans.com (which is where I thought I saw it) but I couldn't find it.

Patriots LB Brandon Spikes Placed on IR For Being Late to Meeting
ESPN's Chris Mortensen says that Patriots LB Brandon Spikes wasn't placed on the injured reserve just because of his knee. He reports that Spikes was late to team meetings on Friday, during the bye week, and that was the final straw for the coaches and front office. Apparently Mort also reported that this wasn't the first incident for Spikes this season. The Patriots placed him on the injured reserve instead of releasing him

The #Texans announce their ticket prices will remain the same in 2014.

The average price of a #Texans ticket is $86.39. That ranked 12th in the NFL in 2013.

The release says it's the first time since 2011 the average price of a #Texans ticket hasn't increased.

So those were terms of OT Jason Peters' extension. Full deal, per Vincent Taylor, is for 5 years, $51.3 million, $19.55 million guaranteed.

Eagles reached agreement with Pro Bowl OT Jason Peters on a four-year, $41.3 million, including $19.55 gtd, per his agent Vincent Taylor.

So Felando pulled off the shoes he was wearing, a pair of flip-flops bearing the Chargers logo. Offering them to the [homeless] man, he said he was sorry they weren’t sturdier footwear and he hoped they would be better than nothing.

“That’d be great,” the fellow said, taking the beach shoes in his hands.

Then his head jerked a little. He said, “Are these Chargers flip-flops?”

Felando nodded and noted that though he moved away from San Diego years and years ago he’s still a fan.

With that, the wanderer handed him back the flip-flips. “I’m good,” he said. And he walked off in his stocking feet.

The fellow blended into the darkness as Felando stood open-mouthed and thinking, “Wow, a new low as a Chargers fan!”

May also be shopping Cameron Wake and Mike Wallace. Organizational instability.

MIA has been gauging trade value for 2013 1st round pick Dion Jordan, league sources said, after trading up to 3rd overall for him last year

I like it.

Is Miami trying to collect more collateral so they can make a move in this draft?

If you want your guy, maybe you should talk to Rick Smith about a possible trade to stay ahead of Miami.

Miami is in a similar situation to us in that they need OL revamp and help at pass rushing positions as well as ILB. What they have over us Ryan Tannehill, which means they're set at QB, they just need to put pieces around him.

BTW I think Tannehill would kill in an O'Brien offense.

Harbaugh saga promises to dominate 49ers' season
...the friction has gotten worse. And given the events of the past week, it's become public. So there's no pretending that everything is fine.

And from what I've been told, the tension isn't just upstairs in the building. One source with inside knowledge of the team says that Harbaugh's act has worn thin in the locker room, particularly among some key "face of the 49ers" type players. While the team is winning, that's not a problem. But a few losses could expose a widening rift.

The issue isn't how to make the 49ers' brass more cohesive. Plenty of organizations operate amid chaos and hard feelings. As a 49ers source told me, "If Jim and Trent have a beer together, it's not going to make Kap throw the ball 4 inches higher," referring to the final play of the NFC Championship Game...
