NFL Random Thought of the Day

Astros beating LA Angels and Arizona beating LA Rams. I heard on radio yesterday that Rams could win their division.

Hoping to see the Texans at 2-0 while the rest of the division is 0-2. Got my Liberty white Foster jersey on, along with my Texans ballcap.

Watson logged in an "impressive" 42 QBR in his 2nd game. I guess that's an improvement from his week 1 10 QBR.................. :sarcasm:

The final score did not reflect Watson's performance..............it reflected more the incompetence of Trevor Lawrence as a passer......................a 47% completion rate.

Passing offense is hard to come by two weeks into the season. Week 1 had only two players go over 300 yards. Still have MNF but only three players over 300 yards in week 2 so far. And of the top 5 players in passing yards, none of them had more than 1 passing td. Kyler Murray is the only QB with 3 passing tds in week 2 with one game to go.

Nico Collins is leading all players in receiving yards this week with 135.

UPDATE: No 300 passers on MNF.

Whelp, that didn't take long. Kudos to them.. The worst thing you can do after drafting a clear bust is spending multiple years and resources trying to justify the decision to take him.

I wonder if they watched Stroud last night, cried tears, and then said that's it, we're benching him.. Call Andy. I'm sure that's not what happened, but that's what I like to think happened 😁

Chiefs RB Isaiah Pacheco has been diagnosed with a fibula fracture and is scheduled for surgery. He has been placed on IR and it is reported that he should be able to return in 6-8 weeks. What I've found out is that the fracture is at the ankle level. If this is so, he may not be able to return before 10-12 weeks.

Thomas Booker, D-lineman and 5th round pick by the Texans in 2022 now playing
for the Eagles, is getting lots of kudoes for his play tonight on MNF vs the Falcons.
I kinda remember him but according to his online bio he didn't even make it thru his
Rookie season with the Texans.

Did additional research regarding Tua and his concussion history, and found the following that is not being talked about.
During a college game against Mississippi State on November 16, 2019, Tua was tackled by two defenders and fell awkwardly on the ground. On that play, as I thought I remembered that reported by ESPN, he dislocated and fractured his hip, broke his nose, and suffered a concussion.

That makes 5 concussions. Keep in mind, that many injuries in college are never documented, especially concussions. Concussions in college for a long time have never been looked for, let alone documented them.

It is a well-known fact that the more concussion a player has, the more likely they will have another...............with even lesser impact Upon reviewing the play that he was last concussed, it struck me how uneventful the actual impact was that caused such a severe concussion. Although I can understand why the young man would want to continue to play the game that he loves, I don't feel his present decision to return to football is the wisest one.

Can Bryce Young be fixed? Is he that terrible or is it the team around him?
Four inch shoe lifts would certainly make that task a lot more successful. At 5'10, he cannot see over his own OL.................he doesn't pick up blitzes because he can't see them coming.................he can't see his receivers or the DBs defending them...............he can't find his receivers when they are further than 10 yds from the LOS because his angle line of sight is sorely limited by the height discrepancy between him and those in front of him.

He didn’t become a horrible QB after leading Bama…..first, went to the Panthers who were missing a team. They should’ve stayed in their original position in the draft and did some building before investing in a QB. There were plenty of QB’s available to bridge the position. Second, the team should’ve modified the offense where they moved the pocket by design versus survival.

I understand if you need a QB & you have an opportunity to get one you do it. But you have to be honest & not put him on the field if he or the team isn't ready.

If you can't protect him & he can't protect himself don't put him out there.

Look at all their previous quarterbacks they ruined, and then found success when they moved on? Baker Mayfield is a great example. Bryce Young’s benching is a blessing in disguise. He’ll be just fine, he just needs to get the F out of Carolina.
I hope.

I didn't watch his games this year so I can't say, but Baker never gave up. Even in Cleveland he gave them 115% every game.

Baker wasn't as bad in Cleveland as people are making him out to be. He had a better season his 3rd year than the Pro Bowl season he had last year where everybody thinks he's been resurrected. Better passer rating, better QBR, better Y/A, better TD and INT percentage, and more wins.

I don't know what Bryce's future holds, but that deal is looking more and more like taking Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan every day. Thank you David Tepper, thank you Lovie Smith, thank you Rodney Thomas, thank you Jordan Akins and thank you Davis Mills.
