Well this is what the bottom looks and feels like, only way to go is up!
Caserio signed a ton of free agents, because he had to, cap space and limited draft picks, really the only ones that you can truly bank on are your first and second rounders. So he addressed QB, not sure if Mills was the target or not? There was a run before the Texans first 3rd rd. pick matter of fact there was a gap from New England selection of Mac Jones 15th overall in 1st rd. Kyle Trask, 32nd of 2nd rd. and Kellen Mond, 2nd pick of 3rd. rd. right before Texans 3rd pick of 3rd. rd. Hopefully
Davis Mills was Texan guy all along, if so, that's not so bad (I happen to like Mond better, but I don't matter ****). It's a flashback to 2002, he who must not be named, that's just what the Texans do. 3rd rd. pick not that big of risk with high reward. Mills is a middle of the field, short and intermediate throws his forte, arm strength is lacking, but has quick release and decent but not great mobility to extend plays, it won't be pretty but could be effective if managed.
Nico Collins, was a solid pick @ position of need. Big body/fast which you need as a #1 WR plagued by poor QB play so his low production numbers not all on him. Guess I envision him as a possession receiver to make those conversions and keep drives alive. Not elusive but strong after the catch and should prove durable which is a plus. Speaking of 3rd rd. Texan receiver from the past, Jacoby Jones, absolutely loved his whole presentation
Brevin Jordan, TE the U of Miami, one of the better prospects in class who slipped because of a poor relative strength testing number 4.53 10 being perfect. But who cares right? He is a move TE who can hurt you all three levels. If he develops his blocking that would really solidify his place on the Texans roster.
Garrett Willow, LB is someone they saw value in and traded up using two 6th rd. picks to get. Was a SAM for TCU but in NFL Hybrid LB/Safety tackling machine. He will be very productive for the Texans and special teams stalwart.
Roy Lopez, DT one gap nose tackle in a four man front, he also can play Center and expect Texans to check out all his skill sets. Nice size, son of a coach, high hustle and agile, hoping for the best for him as he tries to make the 53 man roster.
Look, I realize its not pretty but we all knew what to expect going in. Lets just make the best of it and keep moving forward and get back to respectability.
