I haven't seen a loss from the Texans that I could honestly describe as "heartbreaking". In order for something to be heartbreaking my expectations are going to have to be sky high and I'm going to seriously have to believe we're going to win. I've yet to see a game where that was the case.

I was dissapointed when they lost to the Chargers last year in the opener like they did (fumbles) and I was somehwat let down when they lost in 2002 to the Bengals in the first game we were ever favored to win. This year in Buffalo I was very dissapointed in the loss but I wouldn't say "heartbroken".

I almost forgot but I was just as down about the Cleveland game last year. Still not "heartbroken" or anything. Just very bummed out for a week or so. I got over it easily enough (all things considered).

The first that springs to mind is the last game of the 2004 season against the Browns. It was our first chance at a non-losing season and a .500 record, and we just came out flat and lousy. It's been downhill ever since.

The OT loss to the Patriots was disappointing, but they were the Superbowl Champions that year. So really, that showed more promise than anything - we could compete with the big dogs! (and we beat the other Superbowl team Panthers that year, too).

I'd say it's the Cleveland game right now...until my memory is refreshed with another loss.

*UDPATE*

Poll has been added.

For me, it has to be the Pats game. That was the, if not loudest game at that stadium I have ever been to. And we had them at 4th down:

4-1-HOU4 (:40) T.Brady pass to D.Graham for 4 yards, TOUCHDOWN. PENALTY on HST-K.Wong, Roughing the Passer, 15 yards, enforced between downs.

I agree. was looking for a winning season, well at least .500 & it was just a good ol' fashioned butt kicking @ home, last game of the season & fair warning leading into this horrific (1-10) season. Bob McNair himself stated that we must provide David Carr better protection, not to mention what ever happen'ed to the Texans defense

as bad as the Rams loss was, we are not going anywhere regardless except the 1st pick of the draft. losing to GB & Brett Farve at the time, as well the World Champion Patriots, Mannings Colts would have been thrilling wins but not devastating loss'es.

I would have to say the Titan game. Drew Bennett shushing the crowd. I don't think I was heartbroken more like pissed off.:) Like Herv mentioned if expectations would be high like a playoff game or we have a winning record 10-5 and lose to not make the playoffs that would be a heartbreaker. I had mixed emotions about the Ram game. I still want the #1 pick so I wasn't heartbroken.:goodbad:

I voted for the Pats game because, by the 4th quarter, I really felt like we should win that game. Similar to what Herv said, I haven't gotten my hopes up for many games, and that one was no exception. Somehow, the Texans made me believe that day. Foolish, foolish me.

The Rams loss was really sort of ho-hum for me because, like others have said, I just had that feeling they'd blow it.

I voted the Pats as well. How about Tony Banks that year leading us to a victory over the Super Bowl runner up and taking the eventual champs to OT. The last time I checked he had to work with the same Oline as Carr did. Let's face it he got results with the same resources as Carr. Carr may be more talented, but he can't find a winning streak even if it bit McKinney in the badonkadonk.

shhhhhhhh!! Banks is a washed-up has-been backup QB, completely incapable of doing anything with this offense.

At least, I "think" that's the company line right now... idonno:

ps. This goes for Ragone, too! :challenge

Looks like I am the only Schmuck who thinks (and voted) for the Rams game. I agree with what has been said about the Cleveland loss and our chance for a .500 season, all very valid points. But I think it is a close second to last week's debacle.

The loss to the Rams, the miracle comeback, well it was devastating to be that close to a win and cough it up like that. I was having Oiler flashbacks to the game against the Bills during the last 30 seconds of the game. attempt.

I take all loses hard, although this season has begun to de-sensitize me. But most of the other losses were hard fought battles, that were close enough for us to win against tough opponents. The other two mentioned above....not so much.

:crying:

The Vikes game was following our first ever two winning streak after the KC and Oakland game. Down 21-0 at halftime, we somehow battle back, both AJ and Carr have career days and we tied it in the 4th quarter. Then we go to OT, lose the coin toss and never get the ball back...that win would have put us at 3-2...

Actually, the Vikings went three and out. We got the ball, and had to punt after Carr was sacked (how familiar). The Vikings then scored on the next possession.
Another time we just "failed to execute".

I voted for the Rams this past weekend may be becuase i still remember it but it hurt mostly because Our Offense only Scored 3 points in the second half.

I voted Patriots.

I was at that game and it was definatly one of the best games ive ever watched. I talked to alot of Pats fans between quarters and such when i went outside to smoke and they all had alot of respect for us.

I think we deserved that win.. we played dang hard and every time it looked like we might lose..something amazing would happen and we were back in it. In the end..i thought there was no way we were gonna lose the game..but we did :(

That day i was just proud of my Texans and the loss didnt really effect me.. the next day though..it hit me and I was mad.. we deserved that win.

Losing to the hillbillies from Possum Holler nearly ruined Christmas.

Losing sucks rocks.

I don't care if Walter Peyton reincarnate, RIP is in the 2006 draft, losing games sucks. Nailbiters, blowouts, competitive, non-competitive, refs blow it, somebody goons, etc.

Ws feel so much better than Ls. It makes the drive home shorter.

This past Sunday's loss to the Rams was the most heartbreaking for 2 reasons:
-3rd string QB from Harvard had a great day (310yds, 3 TDs, 1 INT)
-They Scored 10 points in less than 30secs to send it to OT

New England 2003
Indianapolis 2003, 2nd time against them at home
Minnesota Vikings 2004
Cleveland last 2004
