Or maybe the Texans have a turn around year like Seattle had last year with a rookie named Wilson...

For the record, I'd still spend that first pick on Matthews because the right side of the O-line sucked. Fix that sucky O-line, let Case be Case (i.e., throwing deep and running if necessary), say Foster comes back to being pre-bad back Foster, and Hopkins/Posey take a step up then just maybe we'll have an offense worth watching.

No Faulk is not right if the intent is winning as many games as possible. Since I think this is a 3 yr rebuild this wouldn't be such a bad thing. Have you seen BO'B's offense? If so what would make you think Schaub would be a good fit? He likes tall strong armed QB's? Does that seem like Schaub would be a good fit in his offense?
Carry on with your Schaub maturbatory tendencies..
Well, I would wager Faulk has seen O'Brien's offense a time or two, and yet this HoF football player still made the comment. Hmmm, imagine that, someone who disagrees with you. Schaub has won plenty of games, stop acting like he is the scrub of the NFL.
Carry on with your obsessive Schaub bashing tendencies...
“[Matt Schaub] needs to be on the bench watching. His confidence is shot. If they put the game on Schaub, they can’t win.” – Marshall Faulk on Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub who has thrown an interception which has been returned for a touchdown in four consecutive games. October 13, 2013

"Matt Schaub needs to do some soul searching. Who he is right now, it doesn’t look like the Houston Texans can hang their hat on him.” – Marshall Faulk on Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub

“I want to see if [Houston Texans head coach] Gary Kubiak is going to pull the trigger [on benching quarterback Matt Schaub]. [He] needs to be on the bench watching his team operate and figure out they can do it without him. If they put the game on Schaub, they can’t win. His confidence is shot.” – Marshall Faulk on Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub who has thrown an interception which has been returned for a touchdown in four consecutive games.

He didn't think so highly of Faulk's opinion in October. If so, why would you have the opinion of Faulk that you do?
Didn't like Faulk when he called for benching Schaub in October. But Faulk is the ultimate authority now. OK.Watching Game Day Morning on NFLN, and it was encouraging to hear everyone but Faulk agree you stick with Schaub. I fully expected Irvin to blast Schaub, but he surprised me. I know there are those here who think they have better insight than guys like them, but I will stick the Texans players who stand behind Schaub, and the former players from around the league who have also agreed you stick it out with Schaub.
Hmmmm.... interesting question.
...just for review, here's the list again...
Hard to say without having some idea if O'Brien wants to go Pats-type spread, Old skool "run-first", or what...
Let me put it this way, I wouldn't cut Case Keenum to pick up any of those guys; especially considering nearly all of them most likely represent a significant cap hit compared to Case's rookie salary. And, IMHO, there won't be a significant increase in performance for that additional money.
Now if you want to bring McCoy or Quinn in - just to randomly pick two names from the list - to compete in camp; and they beat out Case and/or T.J..... I'd be up for that.

Obsessive tendencies? LOL See Lucky's post about your posting tendencies. I just call people out when they refuse to listen to what other intelligent posters say, (C-N-D/Icak/Lucky/anybody with 1/2 a brain) Schaub is hurt, back it up with research, things play out the way that they say it will play out and you still cant bring yourself to admit that there's even a chance that YOU could be wrong. It must be great being YOU, always the smartest man in the room. (Are you Matt/Gary's relative? Hell, Gary's relatives are on this MB and they're more objective when it comes to Schaub than you are. (Not really surprising. I really am thinking about stopping replying to you because it is a waste of my time.
I didn't ask you what Faulk thought. I asked what you thought? Or are you able to think for yourself?
Faulk has never been the smartest man in the room when it comes to talking football on NFLN. But since you agree with him IYO he is.
Tell me have you heard Faulk analyze other teams? If so, why would you have the opinion of Faulk that you do?
Oh that's right, he agrees with you?
He didn't think so highly of Faulk's opinion in October.
Didn't like Faulk when he called for benching Schaub in October. But Faulk is the ultimate authority now. OK.
You think Faulk was wrong then in his belief that Schaub should have been benched, but agree with him now when he says Schaub should be kept as the Texans QB? I thought Faulk was correct then, but is wrong now. What's the difference? Faulk is not correct in everything he says regarding the Texans (according to both of us). So maybe we should both stop holding him up as an expert in all things Schaub and Texans? You guys all read stuff into my posts that are just not there. I never said I had a high opinion of Faulk, and as my good buddy Lucky points out below, I was getting tired of his Schaub bashing too. But that's the thing. He is clearly as big or bigger Schaub basher than any of you, so what would be his motive to now say what he did?
Since when do you gain credibility by flip flopping on issues?
I do not think the Prius drives well.
I now think the Prius drives well with no new knowledge on the issue.
I am now an expert on this issue.
And there you go again.Does your blind hatred for Schaub keep you for being objective? Silly question, I know.

As far as labeling is concerned, you've labeled posters as Schaub bashers after any criticism of him. And no one as called you a douche or inferred that you were high on weed. So please, stop playing the victim.
He is clearly as big or bigger Schaub basher than any of you, so what would be his motive to now say what he did?
Faulk has never liked the Houston Texans.
So, suggesting that we keep a QB who is way past his prime is a way to try to influence us to suck again. Or at least create controversy among the fan base (i.e. this thread) so we can talk about a guy that we never talk about (Faulk). Dude is a narcissist.
It would be like me saying Jerry Jones is now a great GM and should continue to be the GM of the Dallas Cowboys for another decade. Reasoning: getting another GM would set the franchise back as he has to implement his staff, but they want to win now, so just keep status quo. Ulterior motive: I don't like the Cowboys and hope he stays the GM so they continue to flounder.
I can relate to that, but then how do you explain Bucky Brooks, and then the next person who shares the same view? Are they all just trying to influence the fan base, or ownership? I think that is a bit of a reach. Where do you get the fact that Faulk has never liked the Texans? Because he is critical of them?
I agree Faulk is a narcissist, but let's keep in mind Vandermeer sought him out, and asked him the question. It's not like Faulk was whoring around trying to get someone to ask him about the Texans. If he is such a blow hard then why did Vandermeer seek him out for his opinion, why does the ?
Even if that were Faulk's motive, and I doubt that, why not just say something even more bizarre like start Yates, or bring in VY?
For instance, here is Faulk on May 15, 2012, predicting the team would miss the playoffs.
Is he biased or is he objective? I've just seen a clear pattern over a period of time where he has never seemed to have held a high opinion of this franchise. It often gave a vibe that he did not look at game film but spews an opinion based on recollection.
Again you miss the point. The point is not a flip flop. He is not saying he loves him some Schaub now. It is a realistic assessment of the current situation, and the goal set forth by the owner, which is a quick turnaround.
I do not think the Prius drives well.
The other cars I have the option of driving drive even worse, so I think the Prius drives better than them, so for now, it's my best option to get to my destination.
oh look... Common sense. I guess it's true what they say. Common sense is not as common as it should be.
Stop getting it twisted. He is not saying he wants the Prius, but given the options available, he thinks the Prius will get you were you want to go faster than starting over. Again, if the goal is to turn it around this year, and keep the Super Bowl window from closing, in his opinion, given the circumstances, and the available options, MS is the Texans best chance.
Why is that so hard for you guys to grasp? Does your blind hatred for Schaub keep you from being objective? Silly question, I know.

I know it is hard for you guys to stay on topic, and all you want to do is attack me, but you could at least try a little harder.
Regarding stopping replying to me. Go ahead. Won't hurt my feelings, and then you can go back to thinking you are part of the intelligent people who post here. I love who you say I think I am the smartest guy in the room, and then spout off about being part of the intelligent posters on the board. Good stuff.
Nothing... nothing any of you have predicted came true. You insistence that Matt Schaub had a bad year because of his foot is nothing but speculation, so please spare me the Nostradamus act. You believe it was the foot, I believe Schaub needs help from a good O Line. Neither opinion is smarter, or more right than the other. Get over yourself and your belief that you have it all locked in. Prove something, then crow how cool and smart you are.
You just keep attacking the messenger, not the message.
At least I have an original thought. It's you who just parrots what the rest of the cool guys are saying.
We all know what your motivation for saying the things you do is. But what motivation would someone like Faulk have to say what he did. Does he not get enough face time? Is he known for going against the grain just for the sake of doing it? Stop putting words in my mouth, stop trying to label me. Get your own opinion instead of this talk radio opinion you have formed when like minded callers like you call in and make you nod you head in approval while listening.
See, the point goes right over your head. The fact that he has been, and is the biggest Schaub basher in the world gives him credibility in what he says now. That given the circumstances the Texans find themselves in, Schaub is their best best to win in 2014.
He is not saying Schaub is his guy, or that he was wrong about what he said previously. He clearly still holds Schaub in low regard, but still also says he gives the team the best chance in a quick turn around.
Here is the thing I wish both of you would do. Stop reading and posting in this thread. If it is such a waste of your time, why do you keep doing it? Create your own highly intelligent thread where post count, and join date matter. You are obviously wasting your superior intellect on a weak minded loser like me.
Please spare us all any more if your obviously superior commentary in this thread, because us feeble minded members cannot comprehend your complex, insightful thoughts on the topic.

O'Brien told Around The League that he's huddled one-on-one with Schaub for a "good conversation," but O'Brien isn't ready to make a decision on the passer's fate during a "dead period" in the league calendar.
Case Keenum has a better shot to stick around, costing just $495,000 in 2014 and described by O'Brien on Friday as "athletic, competitive, smart" and a "good team guy."
But is Keenum an NFL starter?
O'Brien paused for what seemed like a lifetime, before telling us: " ... We'll see."

Ugh, are we STILL debating this?

at that number is being generous. June 1st cannot get here fast enough to see Matty Pick 6 out the door for good....
Prior to the draft where a QB at #1 is leaving all teams questioning what the Texans might do, what else would he say about the present Texans QBs? He's not going to show his hand as to if he will take an NFL ready QB or one that will sit out a year learning or more of a 2+ year developmental QB.........and if he feels that the starting QB is on the team. The name of the game at this time is keep 'em guessing.

Sure, that's exactly the same thing. Way to keep things in perspective.

Lets just face it guy's and dolls #8 is going to be the QB he fits what OB likes in a QB.
This thread should be titled Matt Schaub gives Texans best chance to win 1st pick in 2015 draft.
Which wouldn't be a bad thing. Because it would mean Slick Rick would be gone.

Why not just make that your sig?
looking back at matt time here tho he did put up some numbers
yeah he gives us the best chance to win but certin teams like the lower teir teams LOL LIKE Dolphins or browns LOL
and I don't know how he did it but those 10 and 11 years man I don't know how he racked up dem wins !!! LOL
Everything was perfect on offense that year. Leach was still here, Kyle Shanahan calling plays, the offense was a beast. The line was great, and Schaub still had a little mobility.
