edit - okay, the above comment wasn't woth a post. So, let's go with this - it's gonna be REAL interesting to hear the reasoning behind this. Now with this, maybe it changes who we go after at the 1st in the 2nd round? I would think we'd go after another RB in a future round for a RBBC.... right?

Charlie Casserly did not make this pick by himself. Kubiak, McNair, and Casserly made it. We can't just blame Casserly.

Simple reasoning, they feel he is the best player for this team, and I agree with them and have been saying that for a month now.

If you didn't know, our defense was just as bad or worse as our offense last season. Yeah, I wanted Reggie Bush more than Williams and I'm disappointed, but it's not the end of the world. Mario Williams is a total stud also. We won't know if it's wrong until we see the results.
 
NFL Network just reported Texans personnel have been viewing game tape of RB's for the last 2 days of RB's that we would possibly draft in the 2nd round.

Oh hey, not dogging the selection at all. I never was committed to any of the top picks - felt any of them would help at any position, moreso with Reggie or Mario lately with VY out of the picture.

But wow, this is a shocker.
 
These past couple of days have been giving me a headache and my stomach won't stop churning. Hopefully, this is all a big smokescreen and the Texans do the right thing, take Reggie or trade down to pick Mario. Mario @ 1??? I just don't get it...

Yep, a lot of money to spend on tainted goods. That's why Bush was not taken. I think a lot of questions have come at the last minute and arrogance cost them. I would have liked to have seen a trade down, but this is what they want to do and it makes a lot of sense.
 
I can't stop laughing! Casserly just flipped the entire city off on his way out the door.

His ego got in the way when he extended Carrs contract and now he's sticking it to those wanting Bush. Why a departing GM has this kind of power this late in the game is beyond me. I have lost a lot of respect for Bob McNair.

At least now I might be able to buy a ticket to a game soon...:redtowel:

Besides 4 games this year what else did Mario Williams do??

Also you don't have to tell how bad the defense was, I have paid for my PSL's and paid for my season tickets for the last 5 years now. I have seen it 1st hand, but you don't pass on Micheal Jordan. Look at Portland and Sam Bowie.
 
Really wish we'd gotten SOME sort of pick, but Mario's not a bad selection. Hopefully, he'll pan out.

NFL Network just reported look for us to try and trade back up into the 1st round to take a RB tomorrow.

If we were set on Mario we should have traded back a few spots with a team that wanted Bush and picked up another 1st day pick.
 
I am sick. I'm physically ill. Three straight years of incomprehensible decisions from this team at draft time has made me sick to my stomach.

Like Casserly asked I won't Boo Mario Williams. In order to do that I'd have to be at a game. No danger of that happening I suspect..

Well, somehow the Texans have managed to screw up the unscrewable, mess up the unmessable, and become the laughingstock of the world (Yes Bush has a hugh worldwide following) all in one night. But Houston also drafted Hakeem Olajuwon that year. He didn't do too bad that year. If Reggie Bush goes on to be a great player, so be it. But if Mario Williams does also, we probably won't regret it.

All these People that are complaining right now... Raving about Mario Williams and how he helped turn our Defense around.
 
I soooo freaking mad! I hate everything about this.. I want a refund for my season tickets next year, and I hope that Bush and VY kill the Texans for seasons to come.
