Here is a brief breakdown of the basic scheme the Broncos used against the Patriots.
It seems as if Kubiak heavily favors a two back set with a TE on the right side (i.e., classic pro-style formation). They rarely line up in the i-formation, rather the FB is normally offset to the left side. The Broncos went to 3 WR sets no more than for 10-15 plays. The TE, FB, and Center are all very important. Additionally, the Broncos often run against the grain, which would bode well for both Reggie Bush and DD.
We need an upgrade at the TE position, or hope Joppru can finally survive injury. Additionally, we need an athletic center (not McKinney - move him to left guard with a restructured deal). I would also like to see Wells moved to FB. The Denver scheme gives 5+ handoffs to the FB position each game as well as several passes. He could move to TB as a change of pace. I know he wants to be a fulltime TB, but even at FB in this scheme he would get more consistent chances than the last several years.
