Jaguars: Dirty Cheating LOSERS!

Bob McNair

Waterboy
The Jaguars are dirty. Carr was injured on a late hit. Wynn was hit late out of bounds on a kick return. The Jaguars cheat. The Refs were in their pocket. Neither of these obvious personal fouls called for a penalty. (Mario barely touched Saint Eli and got a penalty. If a Texan took three steps and drilled a QB in shoulder with his helmet he would be penalized, ejected, and probably suspended for the same time as any other player would be for stomping on an opponent's face). The obvious catch and fumble out of bounds for a first down by Daniels was ruled incomplete - on the replay challenge!

Jaguars - at home, dirty, cheaters, and yet, they LOST! AGAIN! LOSERS!!!LOL!:marionaner:

The reason I like the Texans so much is because of the character our players have. We have a pretty good squad of guys. Please don't bring the team down to your level. A win is ALWAYS enough. I guess the team aren't the only ones that need to learn how to win.

Very well said. Rep coming your way.

Am I bringing the team down? Sorry. OK, Jaguars I'm sorry we beat you (twice) a win is enough, we promise NOT TO ENJOY IT because that would be TOO MUCH! Obviously you disagree with me but, I think the team on the low level is the one that injures the opposing teams starting QB with a late hit cheap shot.

They may be dirty, but to say the refs were in their pocket is kind of dumb. The refs may have missed some calls, but the Jaguars didn't buy them off or anything.

One thing about the orininal post that I do agree with (to a certain extent) is that the refs were in their hip pocket. There were at least a couple of calls where they were way too concerned with pleasing the crowd. The OD first down was one of them. It should've been reversed.

Did anybody else watch the refs on that Daniels "incompletion".

The ref that was standing 5 yds away ruled a fumble.

And then the ref that was 20 yds in the secondary ran forward & overruled him.

How can that guy have the final say when the ref that was right there already ruled it a fumble.

If the refs are in the Jags pocket, the that's the dumbest expediture of money I've ever seen. If I pay a ref I pay to win. Get over one bad call, your acting like a child.

Here is a quote from my post on another thread.

"The refs did an excellent job almost the entire game. This was one of the better games called by refs this season.

The only mistake was the botched incomplete pass call. That was a fumble. Daniels turned up field & took 2 steps before the Jag knocked the ball out.

The Carr hit was clean. I know we all wanna stand up & defend our guy but the Jag got there really close to the ball & he hit Carr in the shoulder, which is legal. He put his head down but he hit with his arms first, so he wasnt leading with the helmet.

I love instant replay. It is a great idea. But it isnt working that well so far. The refs are too afraid to overturn a blown call & they hardly ever pay attention to the "evidence" rule. You cant overturn a call cuz you think it is wrong. You have to know.

Overall they called a good game but that Daniels play at the end really sticks out as a mistake."

So I guess I'm just callin it like I see it, not "acting like a child".

OK, maybe that's a bad phrase to use. I didn't mean they were literally using the refs to cheat. I just meant the refs were either letting the crowd sway them, or they (one or more) were too hard-headed to admit to being wrong and reverse bad calls. The Texans are going to have to overcome that kind of crap, because I think it's happening because of our crappy record, at least in part. It's just a shame that refs can't be impartial, consistent, humble and honest when reviewing plays. They tend to not want to reverse anything unless it is screaming, "YOU *****! EVERYONE IN THE WORLD CAN SEE YOU WERE WRONG!" in their faces. It's like if there's any way that the fans of whichever team they sided with originally can possibly argue that the refs were right the first time, then there's no freakin' way in youknowwhere that they'll ever admit to being wrong.

My bad, I should have used the "quote" fuction. I was refering to the original creator of the thread, not you. No offense to you intended.

I've seen the hit on Carr get called both ways this year and I agree about the one catch/fumble by Daniels. Don't know how that was upheld on replay other than the refs hate to overrule an on the field call. OTOH I thought they missed some calls our way too. So all in all I don't think the refs affected the outcome. You won, we lost. Scoreboard.

Seesh! Of course they did not literally pay off the refs. But titling the thread "Jaguars: Beneficiaries of poor officials who didn't lose, time just ran out" would not be as much fun as "Jaguars: Dirty Cheating LOSERS!"

EXCUSE ME for enjoying a series sweep against a division rival, HOW CHILDISH! You must really hate all those childish people who cheer at football games, and especially the rude ones who make noise when the other teams offense is on the field. The visiting team are our guests! We should be polite and sip our tea quietly when they are on offense. For a good play, don't cheer, just bend your pinkie.

Its FOOTBALL. Its a Message Board. At least 90% of the stuff posted is probably childish to a degree. We are posting about men playing a child's game.

My point on the refs is: three HORRIBLE calls. Two letting dirty play go; the Daniels catch I could excuse getting it wrong live - but getting it wrong after the replay says if the "fix" was not in (and I am sure it was not) then the official who watched the replay is incompetent and should never work another game ever.

The hit on Wynn was late; much later than the out of bounds hit on Lundy that was (correctly) penalized. The hit on Carr was definitely late by NFL standards. The defender took at least two full strides after Carr released the ball, and drilled him helmet first in the shoulder, attempting (successfully) to cause an injury. I don't care if he "brushed" Carr with his hand first, the impact was with the helmet. In college or high school it would be a marginal penalty. In the NFL, where QBs are highly protected, taking one full step and hitting the QB is normally a penalty; Ingram took two. He could have easily stepped behind Carr. In the last twenty years, how many times has a player not been penalized for taking two steps after the QB threw the ball and injuring him (very few). How many times has a player been less than a step away and still been penalized when the QB is not hurt at all (a bunch). Let me put it this way: try that against Peyton Manning and see if you get a penalty (you will).

The Carr hit was questionable according to the NFL rules. Is anyone else tired of how much the NFL protects the QB. Yesterday I was watching some of the Saints/Steelers game a DLineman from the Steelers was rushing Brees and he fell down at Brees' feet and grabbed his ankle with his arm. It was called as a 15 yard penalty for going low on the QB.

Football is a contact sport, QB's are protected 6 days a week in practice, 1 day a week they need to take a few hits. Just wait until a Dlineman does everything possible not to get a late hit penalty and they hurt themselves trying to stop on a dime.

That is so far from the truth. The hit on Carr was not late or dirty, Wynn was not hit late out of bounds. There were bad calls/non-calls by the refs toward both teams. How long did the refs have to "discuss" the obvious grounding from Carr before they threw the flag?

Your team won, and deserved the win, but to call our team "dirty and cheaters" shows a big lack of class.

It was not a late hit on Carr.

It was obviously a late hit on Carr. You just have to understand to football to see it. And the Beatles quote as lame as the Jags.

I totally agree, I think there were bad calls both ways. Maybe even more the Jags way. I don't think they are in anyone's pocket, they were just not very good at their jobs.

I did wonder about hitting the QB with your helmet though. I thought that was against some rule somewhere. He knew David didn't have the ball anymore, before he got to him, so even if he couldn't stop his forward motion, he sure didn't have to aim his helmet at this shoulder. Looked like dirty play to me. Should have been a penalty.

While I do think that the Jags have cheap shotted people in the past (see Redmond on JJ or Darius' hit on Furgenson), I don't think it was evident yesterday. It was a physical game to be sure... The only problem on the hit to Carr that I had - was the defender dropping his head to hit Carr with the Crown of his helmet, BUT had the refs called it - I would think it was a ticky-tack penalty....

Agreed. The hit on Carr was not late ..... it was, however, suspiciously well placed ...
you can't hit him low or you get a penalty...it wasn't suspicious or late. Lets win with some class people. It really is a better way to go. Let the Jags cry....we shouldn't be like them.

I believe that we protect the QB to much. However, if you look at the 'roughing the passer' calls made in the past there is no way that wasn't a late hit. That being said, what about the sack that Babbins had. That could have been called for "going low", which I think that is a crap call anyway unless its done with intent. Wynn wasn't even out of bounds when he was hit, he was just inside the field of play.

Not only does that not make any sense, but it was not a late hit. The only reason anyone is saying anything is because he ended up getting hurt from it. If he had bounced up like he usually does it would have been a non-issue. I guarantee over the life of your franchise Carr has taken way later and way more vicious hits than that.

The hit may have been late. It certainly was an intentional helmet shot. He dropped his head after the ball was gone with the intent to sphere him.

Certainly, the Jags are a dirty team. Their coach stresses dirty play. I didn't see a whole lot of it yesterday though- not to say it wasn't going on.

After getting a few questionable calls against us for roughing the QB - last week's Vlade Divacesque flop by Eli after a Mario love tap comes to mind - Texans fans are a little sensitive.

Certainly, huh? Does Del Rio really encourage dirty play, or are you just talking out of your arse? Anyone can make blanket statements like that, but it holds just as much water as me saying Kubiak encourages his O-Line to go low to cutblock.

Congratulations on your victory, it was well-deserved. But just because injuries happen doesn't mean we're a dirty team. If you're truly a good team, and judging by yesterday you seem to be, you'll find ways to win without your quarterback. We've been struggling to find ways to win without 25% of our original 2006 roster.

I gave my opinion and you gave yours. I fail to see how mine shows less class than yours.

Jeeez you must of been like 10 when you, Paul Brown, Vince Lombardi, and George Halas met to define modern-day football .....

The Jag fans really need to get over having their team being called dirty. This is nothing new so why the sensitivity now? Several fans of other teams have said, at one point and time, that the Jags play dirty. It was only like the year before last that the Jags PLAYERS and fans were whining that the Texans play dirty (biting while in the pile, scratching, etc.). It's not like there haven't been questionable hits in the past by Mr. Henderson, Mr. Spicer, and Mr. Stroud. I personally don't care because what goes around comes around and I feel like the trash talking and play of the Jags is what gets these Texans riled up every time we play. That's why we play them so hard and I wished every team we played did it with the intensity that the Jags do. The Texans keep finding ways to shut 'em up.

I knew when Sage went in we were going to hold on. Lets win 7 straight! Gordon says we can.

And you were the dude cheering on another board that Carr was hurt. Glad a Texans player is hurt is as low as pond scum IMO. And don't say it wasn't you or that you weren't cheering because he was hurt, because you were called out and face planted on that board for it.

He was cheering on another board that Carr was hurt?????? He should be banned from this one. Immediately, if not sooner. Anyone who wishes any of our players hurt should be banned. You spell their names LOSER!!! Good riddance. Moderators, do your thing.

Don't hate, y'all. We get enough of that from those teen punks that come out of the suburbs.

Gordon and I are in the Orange lot and would love to meet all of you. We're always looking for new friends. Who knows? Maybe you'll want to come over and hang out in the hot tub with us.

Yeah, and you will be rooting for Carr to get hurt and giggling and dancing if he does. You are not a Texans fan. No one can be a fan and root for a team player to get hurt. That is so low it would give pond scum a bad name. The other board is starting a resolution to have you chucked off of there for your activity and this one should also.

The Carr hit can go either way yes. It was a little late and he did seem to go in head first. Those two elements warrents a roughing the passer penalty.

But you guys are forgetting just how important that first down was with 4 minutes left in the 4th quater in a 3 point game. To not make that fumble call correct is inexcuseable. I know we won but had we gone a quick 3 and out, the Jags would have had plenty of time and good field position to at least get the field goal. I know Kubiak and Co. are sending in a tape of the game to the commision to get answers in regards to that shoty piece of officiating. This is not the first time we got screwed on the fumble rule. Remember the fumble the Giants had after the botched field goal? That was a TD going the other way and would have changed the entire outcome of that game. We are getting some bad calls at pivitotal points in the game, and NFL needs to investigate.

Okay ya'll, don't feed his ego, or whatever he is looking for, and he will hopefully go away. He's one of those that just want to get people all riled up for no reason. If they don't get fed, they leave hungry and go somewhere else. :blah: :goodbad:

Long history of that on the other board!!

Gary Kubiak and the Houston Texans think it was suspicious and late.

(on hit to QB David Carr a late hit) “It’s hard to tell. It sure looks like the guy takes a couple of steps. We’re turning it into the league and we’ll get a response back, usually on Wednesday afternoon. It was a pretty good shot but he took one directly on the shoulder.”

Translation from coachspeak to English: "It's easy to tell. It was a dirty, late hit and should have been penalized. The league should fine the guy, and grovel for our forgiveness." Obviously he can not speak directly in English without getting a huge fine himself. But teams don't turn plays into the league that they think are "hard to tell." They only turn in plays that they think the officials really blew it.

I guess some of the posters here now think Kubiak and the Texans are as classless as I am. I don't view myself or Kubiak as crying; I think of it as (at least for me, Kubiak IS classier than me!) gloating: even though the Jaguars play dirty and don't get called for it, we still beat them TWICE!!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
