Jags dirty play

Vinny

shiny happy fan
Did you catch Del Rio grinning after the Darius closeline shot to the head of Robert Ferguson? I've seen the Jags clothsline players over and over. Darius has been ejected.

Pitiful

Yeah i just saw the replay, personally i dont see anything wrong with it i think its a man's sport and he took a nice hit. I've only been watching football for a few years are clothelines banned or somthing?

o ok. Yeah it did look like he cought him in about the chin and went up with it. What do yall think about that interception by deion grant? nice play if you ask me.

The jags and their coaches are some of the lowest class people I've ever seen. They're thugs and I hope they get it handed to them.

I honestly dont think I'd shudder if I saw Peek break Leftwich's leg next week.

I will be p.o'ed however if Henderson takes another cheap shot against us and nothing is done.

Based on several plays by the Jags and their coaches reaction it looks like Del Rio sanctions such play. When is the league going to fine the players, coach and club for being THUGS?

Jags true colors are showing. This cheap shot... from the team that accused the Texans of playing dirty football after we kicked their kitty-litter-butts at Reliant on Battle Red Day. Texans are a classy bunch and don't play dirty.
Darius represents what most of the Jags team is. Cheap dirty playing. I am so glad he was ejected from the game. It sends a message. Hope he is suspended from playing next week too.
P.S. refs are such big glorified prima-d's wanna be's. Favre hit the ref with the ball because he stepped in front of the ball. ignorant ref, and he wanted to foul him.

Wasn't it Ferguson that Darius hit? What a bunch of low class thugs! They have officially become my most HATED team in the NFL, even over the girls!

yeah it was ferguson, last report was take to hospital to check head/neck

ESPN Radio reported no feeling in left arm

Sad..I hope Brett Favre speaks out against the Jags in the press conference

And you know whats funny? When we gave them a small dose of their own medicene...they cried like babies.

A token fine will not mean anything. Would not suprise me if the Jags organization would pay the fine for him. Need to suspend that Jags POS a couple of games. Coach too for condoning it, he's a sorry POS too.

The worst part was Del Rio laughing it up as soon as it happened. That was total classlessness.
I saw Del Rio laughing on the sideline.

I think the league needs to suspend both the player (Darius) and the coach (Del Rio - in view of his 'expressed approval') for a game, or two.

The announcers had just said the team was a reflection of their coach.

yeah dude, when you consider you can break a guys neck it's not cool

this hit disgusted me, and the look on del rio's face pissed me off beyond belief

Already gearing up for the Jags, not even a few hours after the game - rilvary defintely brewing?

I really dont like people intentionally hurting other people, but I hope D-Rob and/or Peek come from Leftwich's blindside the week and just destory him just so the Jags get a taste of their own medicine...

I have never felt compelled to post a message and while I am a huge Texan fan I don't watch too many games as it typically is bad for my blood pressure (learned that the hard way watching the Oilers as a kid in the late 80's and early 90's). But I clicked on the Packers/Jaguars game right before Darius clotheslined Ferguson and seeing how Darius reacted and how Del Rio reacted, I have to say that the Jaguars have now replaced even the Titans as the Texan opponent I just cannot stand.

I don't want any of the Texans to play outside of the rules or go gunning for Darius (if the league doesn't suspend him which Tags should do), but I do want the Texans to absolutely crush the Jags.

I know after we beat the jags earlier this season the Jacksonville paper cried about how cheap and dirty the Texans played, one can only wonder if they are criticizing Del Rio and Darius for this, or if it is a "Yeah, we won!!" attitude sprinkled with a little bit of "That's just football. It is a physical game."?

Waiting for jagsbch to come defend this one...

GET IT STRAIGHT, DIRTY,
DARIUS DOESN'T TRY TO INJURE PLAYERS, HE TRIES TO KILL PLAYERS. THATS WHY HE IS SO BELOVED AROUND THESE PARTS. DD IS ONE OF THE FEW THROW BACK PLAYERS LEFT IN THIS LEAGUE.

I FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHAT I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS... I JUST GOT TO HAVE A DARIUS JERSEY, AS A MATTER
OF FACT I AM GETTING IT TODAY BEFORE THEY ALL SELL OUT~!!

I hope we beat the stuffing out of these fools in a week. I have seen 2 posters on their board who actually have a brain. The rest? :loser

Throwback player is another word for "dirty player"

I loved chatmans comments about how WRs don't go around trying to injure everyone, they don't cut the DBs, they block them like a man.

Are you guys gonna wear battle red when you play the jags? who cares if it isnt your turn to wear them, I want to see the texans beat the living hell out of the jags

It was a punk play. Cheap and deliberate. He doesn't have the guts to admit it and niether does that sorry BlueBlocker wearing coach. I'd be tempted to throw Darius an intentional pick and have Andre or one of our big uglies just throttle that chump, face up, blindside whatever. He's got it coming.

a team is the reflection of the head coach...del rio was in his playing years just as cheap and dirty as he is hopeing his players now will be...he has no feelings toward opposing teams players and doesn't care if they get hurt or not...he cares about nothing else but winning and winning at any cost...now i can't stand the jags...i haven't been able to stand them since the cheap shot on the smallest guy in football moses...but that doesn't mean i want our guys to lower themselves down to their play and try to hurt leftwich...if leftwich gets hurt throughout the game let it come due to a clean hit that is sactioned by football...not a clothsline or anything like that...personally going into this game this week i just hope our boys realize what kind of a team this is and gears it up to play them...hopefully we'll be the more physical team on sunday and beat them clean and clear

as for darius and del rio...karma has away of coming back at you...so you better watch yourself...you never know what's around that corner

I'll tell you whats around the corner if they get in the playoffs-Rodney Harrison...I would kill to see him light up leftwich on the zone blitz

i love how they all know what was going through his head at the time. All of those "fans" are suffering from homeritis...

Perhaps he can try that **** on Andre...getting suspended might just save his arse from being blown away this weekend.

The great thing about playing with nothing to lose is that you have nothing to lose. The Texans have nothing to lose by going all out this weekend and just bombing the ball downfield. Should be an exciting game.

I don't think so. "throwback player" is a term that in my mind means a guy who'd be playing this game if they paid him $20,000 a year because he loves it. He's a player who plays 60 minutes of football whether the game means a trip to the postseason or nothing at all. He's a player who plays hard, hits hard, hustles all the time, and plays with respect for other players. He's not above knocking the snot out of them but he carries with him a degree of dignity that doesn't allow him to lower himself to that kind of play.

Any fan using the term "throwback player" to describe Darius and his ilk is doing a disservice to the phrase and to the real throwback players in this league. It's an attempt to justify the kind of play that needs to be stomped out.

You people are bunch of whining babies. Why are you worried about a game that had no affect to the Texans(Scared of Darius ripping your receivers in half)? I will be at the game this Sunday as I am every home game cheering for the Jags defense to dismantle Carrs pretty boy band looking face. We will destroy the Texans on our way to the Playoffs. Too bad you guys are about 9 years away from being a playoff contender! :BananaWav

LoL, you're funny, the Jags are not going to the playoffs. However i do agree with you about the hit. I'm tired of listening to yall whine about D. Darius. Football is a mans sports and you gotta have balls to play it. I think it was a good hit. I missed jacked up tonite and was curious to see if it was on there. It is sad however that Ferguson got hurt.

I was impressed that Ferguson held onto the ball after being hit like that. His neck was strained and he lost feeling to some of his limbs, but he somehow managed to hold onto the ball.

Jags fans have their blinders on. They can't see that the whole world is disgusted with their team.

Funny thing is, no one is talking about them beating favre in the regular season in freezing temperatures for the FIRST EVER TIME.

That's what dirty play does, it takes a dump on all your accomplishments.

This Jags team is a long way from the classy Coughlin coached team that had real team leaders like Brunell, Boselli, and others... Those guys played hard. Boselli had one heck of a mean streck, but he had enough respect for the game and for others to play it honestly and within the rules. It is beyond me how you can be a fan of that team from the 1990's and also be a fan of this cheap, classless team... It certainly can't have anything to do with civic pride. I've been to Jacksonville-ONCE!

Do you honestly believe that Tom Jackson is going to celebrate an illegal hit that led to a player being carted off the field without feelings in his legs?

I was appauled at Del Rio's actions too. But most people on the Jag board just
drink their teal kool-aid and sweep it under the rug like nothing happened. I
hope the owner does something about that guy and the players whowere also in the act, I would hate to cheer for a team like this. Could you imagine Tom Coughlin or Dom Capers doing that kind of thing?

Seems like I keep gettin' the runaround. This guy named FBT is the face of the
board. Anyone who's been on there know what i'm talkin' about. Truly Sickening.

From the NFL Digest of Rules:
SUMMARY OF PENALTIES

15 Yards (and disqualification if flagrant)

3. Striking opponent on head or neck with forearm, elbow, or hands whether or not the initial contact is made below the neck area.

AndreJ, if you want to be considered a knowledgeable football fan, maybe you should take some time and review the rules of the game.

What bothers me is that none of the media has taken Del Rio to task for yucking it up on the sidelines while Ferguson lay motionless on the ground. The guy makes me sick.

How in the hell does the way i feel about the subject have anything to do with the rule book. And who are you to say i dont know the rules. Did the Packers not get their 15 yards and Donovan Darius not get ejected. Give me a break. And as far as agreeing with all the rules. I guess you think its fair to fine a player thousands of dollars for celebrating when he makes a play to ha?

Oh and i like the way you left out the part when i said it was a shame that ferguson got hurt in my quote above. Way to make me look like the bad buy. :listening

Dude, you said it was a good hit. I pointed out the fact that it wasn't a good hit. That's all there is to it. I don't think you're a bad guy, I think Darius & Del Rio are.

Thats what WR's and Safeties deal with. High Speed Contact, not 1 step in front of the guy in a test of strength. You got people on the field moving with enough speed and power that if hit in the wrong manner you could kill or serverly injure them

That's not football. Now if it is an accident or not, thats up to the league to decide. There is reasonable doubt about the intent natraully. If it was an accident, thats unfortunate. But it's still against the rules.

If it was an accident

How come when he missed hitting the football did he continue to drive his arm foward with all that force.

Or How come when he made contact with Ferguson face did he still continue to drive the arm , why not atleast attempt to let up on the hit? Darius didn't react after the play like it was accidental either.....

Now you can say, well everything is moving so fast, maybe he didn't see and feel it.

In that case, you probally shouldn't be throwing your arm out in a clothesline like motion if things move too fast for you to feel and see them.

Did DD mean to hurt Ferguson...I really doubt it.
Was it reckless . Hell yeah it was.
