It's way to early to predict bust or compare him with other players in his, class of course, its, easy to go back into the, draft and say, we should of picked this guy or pin point the Rd2 and rd4 gems
 
I wonder if the jags head coach is on the hot seat are they gonna give him the minimum 3 years or just cut ties in 2, years,

That's debatable.

Peyton threw 26 TDs to 28 Ints. That was good for 8th and 1st in the league respectively.

Bortles has thrown 8 TDs to 13 Ints. Extrapolated to a 16 game season That's 18 TDs and 30 Ints. While 30 ints is good enough to lead the league almost ever year, 18 TDs hasn't been in the top ten since 1996.

And on top of that, the rules have made it easier for QB's to throw even since Peyton has came in.

You need to check your extrapolation ....better to go with first 16 games vs first 16 games. But I understand why you prefer to dabble in the hokey pokey. and while you're at it try and get this thread back on topic. You know, Aundray Bruce.
 
In the interest of being accurate and factual without any hokey pokey: Peyton Manning first 7 games 9 TDs/14 INTs; Blake Bortles first 7 games 8 TDs/ 13 INTs.

damn... and Peyton had a Hall of Fame RB (Marshall Faulk) and a multi-pro bowl WR (Marvin Harrison) to work with. Bortles doesn't have anything near those quality of weapons. The kid's future looks like it might be rough if they don't give him quality help

Well BB does have (3) rookie WRs and former QB/WR as his RB so he has that going for him. Good eye ObsiWan.
 
I have never seen such a fickle bunch of fans . Jumping off a rookies wagon halfway through his rookie year is funny . Especially when folks are posting at work complaining about JD instagramming at work . Bottom line is you don' t know what any of the rookies will do in the future . All 32 teams would have drafted the so called Aundray Bruce at #1 overall . So he sputters a bit out of the gate , that doesn't mean he won't play 10 years .
 
This is a 21 year old kid that has suddenly found fame and fortune in the tune of a multimillionaire over night with a good amount of that garanteed. He was the #1 top pick in the entire draft 2014. He's on top of the world right now. Numero uno!!! He could care less what anyone thinks of him right now. It is what it is so enjoy to the fullest extent possible while he LHFAO specifically at you. Thanks Rick Smith for another great draft and of course for the current quarterback Circle Jerk Cluster F***.

The #1 overall pick in the draft apparently gets ready for football season the way a bunch of us do, by getting a comfortable chair and an ottoman. He just has better seats than the rest of us and gets paid to be there.
 
Most fans are probably just frustrated that Khalil Mack with the Raiders and Anthony Barr with the Vikings are playing hard and making big-time plays. Hopefully Jadeveon Clowney can contribute in these final seven games. We really can't tell for another two or three years. Hopefully he dominates against the Browns (racks up two or three sacks), the Texans reach 5-5, and we can all start to feel better.

Time will tell I guess. I'm sure Bortles is JUST like Peyton.
 
Playoff posted this at #818, but this was reported in the Chronicle this morning, so I thought I'd repeat it here. Clowney was so sick with the flu bug and throwing up so much on the practice field, he was taken to the dressing room on a cart.

His knee has not been adequately rehabbed to return to game play. But, the only ones who could still say Clowney should have pulled up his boot straps and played in this last game are the same ones who have evidently never suffered a severe case of the gastro-intestinal flu.

Aren't you the fella who had a big man-crush on OT Seth Wand back in the day and consequently was all bent out of shape when the Texans cut him ? Is that why you are constantly on any and everything Rick Smith and the Texans organization ? Don't you realize that Smith didn't show up in Houston until after Wand was released ?

I don't care for Rick Smith because he's a bad GM, in my opinion. I was down on Kubiak after about three years because I didn't think he was showing the growth that would get the team consistently past mediocrity.

As far as "The Texans Organization", I rarely say much about McNair one way or another. It is the football people I would like to see do their jobs.

I might seem like a crapehanger when it comes to the Texans because I don't automatically praise anything (person, decision, etc.) with a Texas logo on it though. I'm not that into laundry.

And yes, I was a Seth Wand fan.
 
Seems that he is destined to have a Mario Williams-like rookie year. If the rest of his career follows the Williams arc (aside from leaving in free agency), I think I would be happy with that.

Won't go after Rick Smith for that. Noting trading up for a QB is a different story.

Given the state of the Texans QB group and some questions about Clowney, I thought they should go QB 1/1 even though some are uncomfortable with this because there was no "guaranteed" franchise QBs.

Such guarantees are mirages anyway. Some highly touted QBs disappoint, some without the guarantee find a way to impress anyway. The Texans needed a QB. Apparently they still do if Fitzpatrick is the best they have.

It is impossible to be a bust 9 games in. Remember Kareem? He was about as bad as a player could be and now he is a very good CB. Mario? Looked bad and is now on pace for 100 sacks. Relax and let a kid play a few years before you crown him a bust. Jeez.

And as I recall Kareem was labeled a bust because of his disappointing performance on the field, whereas JD can't even get on the field because of injuries which he shouldn't be blamed for. Now if you want to say the Texans who you think screwed up for drafting a player who they didn't realize was going to be plagued by injury during his rookie year, well then have at it.
 
Lattimore, 23, spent the 2013 season on the non-football injury list and remained on that list this season. However, he began practicing last week with the hope that he would be able to play later this season.

The 5-foot-11, 220-pound back suffered serious knee injuries in 2011 (ACL and MCL tears in his left knee) and 2012 (right knee) during his time at South Carolina.

"This was a very difficult decision for Marcus and it was clear after speaking with him that he had put a lot of thought into it," 49ers general manager Trent Baalke said in a statement. "He is a high-character young man who has done everything asked of him and more during his time with us and we have a great deal of respect for the strength and commitment he showed throughout the rehab process.

I thought it was pretty easy to connect the dots that watching what happened to Lattimore and the hype surrounding Clowney's pro potential had to play into the goings on of his final year at South Carolina. Not justifying anything, just allowing for what a mindf*ck it must have been for him.

"Ow ow ow! My foot! My foot!" Then the rest of the DVD is just footage of the cheerleaders practicing or him cheering on the sidelines. Maybe get a shot of him with Joe Texan and Bill getting their autographs because they've spent more time in that stadium than he has.

Jadeveon Clowney: Relationship with Bill O'Brien is great
Amid reports the Houston Texans are frustrated over his missed time, Jadeveon Clowney has been rehabbing his knee, trying to get it to feel right again. Asked about reports of frustration, Clowney chuckled a bit and said they weren't true.

"I talk to the guys around here, the coaches," Clowney said. "We talk just about every day, me and [Bill] O'Brien, the guys around me. It's not been a problem. They just want me as healthy as I can to come out there and help them. They know what I can do out there, and they want me full-go and not just out there doing the motions."

That's the part that he is working through right now. Clowney said it isn't a matter of pain, but rather a matter of his not being able to do everything he's accustomed to doing because his knee is limiting him.

If we're talking about frustrations, those limitations frustrated Clowney when he returned against the Tennessee Titans after missing six games following knee surgery.

"It's great," Clowney said. "He just wants the best for his players, and he's got us buying into what he believes in and winning. He's just a good coach."

Nobody is 100% at this point. Everybody plays with pain. He needs to get his lazy butt out there with the other guys and contribute at whatever % he can. I can't believe this primadonna. Looks like Tarzan, Plays like Jane!!

Some injuries can be played through with little or no risk of making them worse. Others only an idiot ignores. Ask RGIII.

With CND's 8.5 month recovery prediction I believe JC is entering RGIII territory.

And yes, I want to see Clowney worse than most. But a 50/60 % Clowney isn't doing you much good. But it is risking Clowney's future.

The guys that say he should suck it up and comeback to play injured are the same guys who would say how stupid the Texans org was to let him play if he gets hurt.

Hopefully this injury will cause the Texans org to fix the turf. I know we disagree on this topic.
 
football players back in the old days used to play games with a Broken knee or ankle they just wrapped dat mug up and go and the game was a lot more physical back then 2
