JaDeveon Clowney

how can you write off a whole draft only 8 games into the season?
Prosch and Blue are regular contributors
Su'a-Filo is contributing - I don't expect a 2nd round rookie lineman to make an immediate impact.
Fiedorowicz is learning a much more complex offense than anything he saw in Iowa
I don't know what we have in Nix or Clowney yet although it doesn't look promising for Nix and Clowney needs to get healthy.
Don't know what we've got in Savage; O'Brien is keeping him under wraps. Hal and Pagan have contributed on defense.

After our Arian Foster experience, I don't really hold much stock in which round a guy was drafted in. Nor do I listen to gossip. Because the "gossip" about Foster was that he was a flake (okay maybe there's something there), he was fumble prone (he'd gone 300+ touches before that last fumble, and that he was a locker room malcontent (ask his linemen teammates if they think that).

All that to say, it's too soon to know what the hell we've got -good or bad - in any of therm

Obsi, you REALLY need to get off that "logic wagon". When ya gonna learn? ;^)

Clowney is sick. This wasn't a setback with the knee. #Texans

Jayson Braddock @JaysonBraddock
100% sick. But knee is still giving him severe pain.

>>>>Since u got the ears over there, is he really sick or it's the knee?

So give him a NyQuil daytime and throw him out there.

I hear this and then remember the Steelers' Lawrence Timmons getting sick all over the Pittsburgh playing field and just minutes later he's sacking Fitz.

If his knee is getting to him, sit him. I understand that and don't want another injury to our #1 draft pick. Other than that, get in there.

poopin and pukin sometimes takes more than a pill. The flu often results in dehydration and large loss of weight and besides do we really want others to come into contact with him?

Waiting for Ebola joke.

On the bright side, he's just as durable as Derek Rose. 2 games played this year.

Didn't hurt the Steelers. Maybe you're right, I've just never thought being "sick" was a good enough excuse unless, of course, you were trying to stay home from school in which case it was a great excuse. :D

I have had flu with one end on porcelain throne and other over the bathtub, aching and stuff head. I would not get out of bed for a million bucks let alone play a football game. There is sick and then there is sick. I don't think we have a player on this roster who would sit out when they could play.

Clowney not playing again. What a shock. Gonna start calling him Mario Williams pretty soon if he doesn't do something.

Hey Mario had 4.5 sacks his rookie year, Clowney may not sniff 1 at this rate. :kitten:

Mario played most of his rookie season with turf toe, and as painful as I have heard that is I won't question his toughness because he always answered the bell on game day.

Clowney has played one half healthy this year, and after 1 game back with limited time he is already on the shelf again. I also don't know what to think because O'Brien coming from the school of the hood when it comes to disclosing injuries I am not sure if Clowney's knee is toast or if he really has been sick all week and thats why he isn't playing.

They could also not be playing him so he won't step in another pothole in the NRG turf.

Geez give the guy a break. I didn't want to draft him and this still seems like piling on wearing hindsight glasses.

What if your life is just a figment of your mothers imagination and you aren't even born yet :kitten:

BREAKING NEWS: JaDeveon Clowney, thought to be suffering from a severe yeast infection, was instead found to just have some minor vaginal dryness and is now being treated with Replens. His availability for today's game is "Questionable".

Per Ian Rapoport

#Texans are growing frustrated with No. 1 pick Jadeveon Clowney, I’m told. May miss today with an illness. Previously missed weeks with knee.

We are all frustrated and disappointed with him at this point, especially since the team is doing better than many expected this season and still has a pulse for the POs. It would be a big help right now to have a bona fide edge rushing threat on the field as a part of our defense.

O’Brien was asked if he was frustrated Clowney may not be available.

“No that’s not frustrating at all,” he said. “Nope. Not one bit.”

"Look, It's the National Football League," O'Brien said. "Injuries occur. Next guy steps up and plays. It doesn't frustrate me one bit. That's part of the job of the NFL. You have a 53-man roster and you try to build depth at every position. Something happens like that, next guy steps up."

"As it relates to Jadeveon," O'Brien said, "we'll check tomorrow and see how he is and it'll be a game-time decision just like it was last Sunday."

I say give him the game and bye week if the ankle is, still sore that will, give him no more excuses and come back fresh for Cleveland

Should have taken Mack.

I haven't watched a lot of raiders games, but there 0-7 with mack starting I'm not saying its, his, fault cause hes a, rookie I'm just saying ...... yeah its, the, raiders

Maybe clown really is sick and his knee is still hurt I think he will, be fresh after t he bye obviously

...and then there were a few who said the true Clowney was what you saw his Junior year and that Nix was non factor at ND and should've never been drafted.

told by who?
which Texans?
I want names or Rapaport is full of it

Make no mistake Ian Rapoport has a direct line to the McNair's. Ian wouldn't be around the NFL very long if he was prone to reporting stories that were not true. I wouldn't be surprised if the McNair's didn't call Ian to plant the story to light a fire under Clowney.

Main issue I have with it: braddock was saying this weeks ago and Ian gives no credit.

Does this read & sound familiar: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...ston-texans-brass-frustrated-with-gary-kubiak

As for your link I asked Ian who was his source on his Kubiak and he responded the people who hired him.

Like I said Rapoport wouldn't be around long if he was lying and he doesn't retract any reports. Not what you WANT TO HEAR but it is what it is.

And you have a personal relationship with Ian Rapaport?

Let him have his moment .

There's only 1 person who keeps bringing up that name and it's not me.

and who ever was saying this was also saying the Texans and many of their fans, come the start of 2015 season would regret not trading Andre Johnson in 2014 for a 2nd Rd pick in 2015 and freeing up $30 MILLION in cap space in 2015 and 2016. oops

They're rookies. You were all over bortles and he hasn't looked good either. And his problems aren't health related. He's actually playing and not lighting it up.

But they're all just rookies. So....

This thread has more contributions that clowney himself

That's because the people posting in it care more than Clowney himself.

I think drafting him was a mistake. I don't know what the alternative was (I originally wanted Jake Matthews) but Clowney clearly has the heart of a Care Bear. He's never going to amount to anything because in spite of his considerable physical abilities he's got no motor. None that I can see. He seems perfectly content with resting and recovering from every little sniffle or ding that he has.

I don't think the man understands that he does this for a living now.

Seems like the vikings are doing good with Barr and Bridgewater. :(

I don't think that analogy makes the sense you'd like for it to.

I'm seeing a great deal of criticism/hate displaced on Clowney after this loss.........rather than on those on the field that are really responsible and should be directed towards for this loss.

Clowney was on instagram liking different girls' pictures while his team was playing a game.
