Is Pearce the answer at RB2?

Yeah I think we're all reluctantly resigned to the fact we get to watch Dameon be given the #2 spot because of non-tackling practices.

Can't wait to repeat last season and hear about how bad this O-line is at run-blocking (admittedly they're not great) to cover up for the fact that he'll struggle to even get close to 3 yards a carry.

They absolutely better keep Akers though.

Mixon is going to make the OL look a lot better.

There just seems to be something odd going on with DP. During that last preseason game he played and sucked in shots of him on the sideline caught him sitting by himself with a thousand yard stare. Other players were smiling and talking in groups. Team players. Near the end of that game did anyone else see DP standing right behind DeMeco’s right shoulder on the sideline when nobody else was even standing close? Almost looked staged. I’m hoping for the best for him but somewhere he’s got to get his mojo back.

He might have had that stare because he was hit almost immediately after getting the ball on the plays I saw. Hopefully our starters play better and he gets his Mojo back. I was very impressed with Akers in the preseason games and could see him as rb2 if DP underperforms.Still could see him as trade bait..

Why does DP get hit more immediately than our other RB’s? Does he run into the tackles? Really I don’t fricken know. I want to walk away from this but it just lingers. I just want a running game to take pressure off of CJ.

He lacks elite or even great vision. He is an attacking ball carrier. I equate it to nature - a great ZBS runner is like water - they flow and find creases and take the path of least resistance. Pierce is a power runner - he is like a rockslide - creating a path where the momentum is taking him. His path is taking him into a blocker’s ass end because ZBS has a rhythm and cadence and the hole isn’t always where it was diagrammed. Pierce must learn to flow like water.
