Is O'brien's Approach to Poor Performance Really In Any Contrast to Last Year?

I miss him too, but my aim is getting better...

Hmm .. one is a rookie and one is a 10 year vet. Oh yeah, of course, duhhh Fitz has to learn a new system ... poor guy.

I'm not arguing that. Fitz should look better. But you said all three rookies looked better than Fitz, that wasn't the case. Bridgewater did not look better.

Logan Thomas looked better than Fitz. A lot better.

Waiting another year isn't lame, it is much better than reaching for one in the current draft just because you happen to need one.

Since reading comprehension does not seem to be strength for you, I will type really slow and make is short and simple:

Playing Fitzpatrick all season, instead of seeing what the other QBs on the roster are capable of doing, is lame.

That was my point, not all the other things you assumed I said.

Just about any QB not named Locker or Gabbert is a better choice than Fitzpatrick. You have no evidence in his 10 year career to indicate otherwise.

I have a feeling that Keenum is going to play well Saturday night, making the QB situation more interesting.

O'Brien on Fitzpatrick: "To be able to go against another defense right away, that's a good thing. I thought he had two good days." #Texans

It may just be me, but statements like this hit me as a disconnect from other reporting........makes me start feeling a bit uneasy about OB apparently trying to force the square peg into that round hole.

Exactly, couldn't agree more. I felt the same way about OB Sunday press conference after Cards game. He tried to accentuate the many positives without really being able to address any. I sense that OB is in over his head. Another Peter Principal example. I beginning to feel I am watching someone who really doesn't know what he is doing.

Hard to say. Up until last Saturday, everything was hunky dory in Houston. Fitz was doing his thing & the reports weren't glowing, but they were better than what they are now.

Seems to me, the media wants to be able to say, "We saw it in camp." When they're just being good little sheep.

We'll be able to make our own minds up when we see him on Saturday & next week on Hard Knocks.

So, your minds not made up already? He's no Steve Young and I'm not joking. :)

I've got my fingers crossed, a rabbit's foot in my pocket, a horseshoe above my door. I even wrote a letter to Santa Clause.

& Sure, he's not the Steve Young of HOF fame. & I wasn't fortunate enough to have watched Young back in 1985 but he wasn't that great when he came into the league. Sure there was a lot of promise, but the Bucs were ready to move on. Steve Young for all intents & purposes... was a bust.

I can't remember what he looked like in 1988 but his stats don't look "great" in whatever spot duty he played. He became the 49ers starter in 1991 at 30 years old & was one of the best to play the game through the '98 season.

Sure, Young started with a lot more talent, so Fitzpatrick most likely won't have a HOF career. I'm just hoping that what Young was able to do can give us hope that we haven't seen the best Fitzpatrick can be yet.

It says that Obrien may be the type of guy who sees what
he "wants to believe" he sees.

--Gary suffered from that quite a bit.

Might just be smoke though. We'll know come Saturday if
fitz craps the bed again..

We'll see of course but he's sure been throwing a lot of batted passes and gifts to whatever defense is out there. If he's going to come around and get better, he needs to get a wiggle on. If not I guess I'm in the same boat a lot of other folks are in hoping Keenum or "Tommy" can step up pronto.
