2024 / Rebuilding Block 4 After Playoffs / Texans
Were to come out of the gate 1-8......what is the approach for Bye-Week?
1. First, did O'Brien make it to the Bye-Week? If he did, should he make it through the Bye-Week?
2. Does the team assess their assets and look at potential returns from playoff bound teams in preparation for a 2019 rebuild?
3. If the team goes 1-8, it would be obvious that the OL failed, Clowney and/or Watt just aren't playing or not playing up to expectations, and the CB's have become even more suspect b/c of a lack of pressure on QB's.
4. Would the team be willing to include Watt as a moveable asset?
I put this out there b/c if the team has laid an egg through Week 9, then the schedule from Week 11 thru Week 17 doesn't appear to offer much hope for a rebound.
W11- @ Redskins
W12- Titans
W13- Browns
W14- Colts
W15- @ Jets
W16- @ Eagles
W17- Jaguars
I could see the Titans game as a revenge win at home. The road games are no wins and the Browns, Colts and Jags are just better.....at the moment, injuries could change the landscape in a hurry.
Of course, this whole exercise could be for nothing if the Texans can get and stay healthy while the OL finally gels into a serviceable unit. The defense will need to up the pass rush game b/c it has simply exposed the DB's limitations. O'Brien will need to impersonate a successful HC who can make sound decisions in crunch time. Wait, did I just ask for far too much?
