Houston Texans V Indianapolis Ponies Game Day thread

Jacoby Jones and Hartmann and Danieal Manning have single-handedly saved Marciano's job. But it's gotta' stay decent the whole year.

I worry that this game, from a Special Teams perspective, is not a good barometer of judging the ST unit.

Is it too soon to look ahead to next week? On the road against a Dolphins team who will be playing on a short week and coming off the Patriots.

So, I guess what I'm gettin at is that we'll be 2-0 heading into New Orleans :fans:

Uh, paging TV Commentators...paging TV Commentators:

"You have talked about the absence of Peyton Manning. Would we care to discuss how much WORSE the halftime score would be if Arian Foster were playing this game???"

I suspect this game is not a good barometer from any standpoint. Colts offense is offensive without Peyton. Colts defense sucks when they aren't playing with the lead so that Freeney and Mathis play the pass and can tee off.

I'm probably the only one, but I worry that this is our 1's vs. their 3's game.

Who picked the Texans to score the most points this week and to win in the SURVIVOR LEAGUE???? I DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID:breakdance:

The Colts offense is certainly not helping its defense, between the turnovers and all the time their D has spent on the field because their offense sucks.

You are looking at the future of the Colts when #18 retires or has to hang it up due to the neck....

10+ years of glory, now comes the 10+ years of sorrow and looking up at the rest of the AFC South...

Week three will be our first real good test for our new D. I'm just glad we get 2 games against less talented opponents before then. With Pittsburgh looking less than Pittsburghish, I'm seeing a possible 4-0 start.

Wow? I totally expected it. Bills are going to finish 3rd in their division but only because they won't get past the Pats, and Jets, but those games will be close. The Bills are a much better team this year
They were a better team than their record indicated last year, too. They lost more than their share of close heartbreakers.

From the Colts Board:

I expected to be throwing my remote thru the screen this game, but I find myself laughing.

This is te worst coaching staff in football. Team has NO discipline. On bootleg, play action and special teams, not a single player has played their lane or gap. They ALL go to where the ball is. That's not just manning. I just hope this fat **** is fired, you can't get a pass for this level of ineptitude.

And how can these idiots call three straight passes with this horrid O, giving texans plenty of time to score again. I know they only needed a few seconds of it, but why give them that much time anyway?

Then, alas, with 54 seconds left, we admit defeat. I don't mind running the clock out there, but it's surreal that just a few months ago, 54 seconds an the ball was somethingto be excited about, not dread.

This is going to be a long, awful season.

Looks like a post from our boards in years past... I can't say how much I enjoy others suffering... I'm just wrong in the head <grin>

Tate's averaging 6.1 per carry, looks like we know who the real #2 back is. Of course I felt after Preseason he should have been the #2.

Ah. I didn't. Seems like they've been down for so long.

You really need to learn how to enjoy a blowout... :)

I have very little experience in such matters.
I'm a Texans fan.
If we're not fighting our way back from behind, it don't seem natural.
I expect to see it raining dogs and cats any moment.
:D

I'm thinking I may win the Lotto soon... it's a new experience for me as well... I don't know who the hades I thought I was offering YOU advice... I don't know how to enjoy it either LOL

I like the Time share we have going on, even if I am playing against Ward in my money league. (I told the guy who had foster to pick up Ward (Tate was gone) because he had zero depth at RB and Foster wasn't going to play. He's lucky he's my friend lol)

If they keep this up we'll be facing 10yrs of Andrew Luck.

Maybe, but here is the thing. Every year there are QBs who are supposedly the real thing coming out in the draft. Peyton is one of the best of all time. He is up there with Montana, Elway, Marino, etc. The probability that Luck is another Manning is remote. Its is not usual to go from Montana to Young. Its more common to go from Young to Drunkenmiller.

Doubt if Michael Lombardi is seeing how soft we are today. Peyton is out but he's not played a down of defence or special teams and the Texans are rippin' 'em a new one in every phase.

I think all we hear about is Houston winning since #18 didn't play.

And speaking of the 49ers, sometimes the #1 pick of the draft at QB turns out to be Alex Smith.

Agree. Kubiak is like a college coach. He wants the youngsters to earn what they get, and he has the "seniors" starting and showing everybody that you gotta' work your way up no matter how talented you are.

Tate is the better RB of the two. Today proves it, IMO.

I have to admit, I'm a bit surprised with the Colt playcalling. I thought they would call a lot of 3 step drops and slants and screens.
