Practice Squad
If Moulds is added to the Texans, we are obviously set at WR, with plenty of comp to go around. RB we have the same deal. DD fought up the ladder, competing his way to the starting line up. I think Morency entering his second season will be sufficient comp to keep DD pushing himself.(IMO he has alread proven himself)
We have brought in a good center and players throughout the o-line can move back to their previous(correct) positions. With one more positive acquisition to the o-line, either by trade or draft should provide Carr with enough protection and fire power to flourish this season. The only thing Carr has not had since being a pro, is competition. Dont get me wrong, i think Carr has or had great potential(whether or not that has been depleted from him remains to be seen)and may still be our guy.
We know that Ragone and Rosenfelds are second stringers at best. Neither will provide Carr with the competitive fire he has needed since day one. To be on the safe side, i would draft Young to come in and push for the starting job. If he outperforms him through camp and preseason then we have a new starter. If not and Carr really steps up to the plate then he can mentor Young until he is ready to start or trade him or Carr next year. Lets face it. With all the damage Carr has suffered both mentally and physically tells me he wont stay healthy many more years. It would just suck to hell if this were his last healthy year and we had to draft a rookie QB next year to jump in his shoes.
You know what else would suck? If we surrounded Carr with all of this firepower and he still sucks(example: Harrington in Detroit)
We draft Bush, who steps in for Carr in ether situation. Not bush, although he can give DD, a break from action here and there. IMO, a trade off in talent they are both great dual threats. If Carr gets hurt or sucks we will still suck even with 10 great dual threat backs.
If not Vince Young we should trade down for the best OT available.
