Has anyone heard any updates on Dylan Horton?

We know that but they routinely cut people for injuries, illnesses, and whatnot. ALL of these isn’t their fault and all of these deserve loyalty and support from the team.

I am trying to see it from a financial standpoint. Not buying the loyalty aspect as I own a small business myself. I know what makes my employees want to stay loyal but Dylan Horton has never played a down and he likely never will. Cancer is a tough animal to deal with in the NFL but so is a broken neck or ruptured achillles.

You stated no cap hit. That does help. How long are they going to carry him to where he fills an injury space on that IR?

The Texans are holding onto him because he has talent and it's the right thing to do. It's not like he chose to get cancer. The McNair's can afford it, it's not costing a roster spot and, as CnD said, football is likely a strong motivator for him.
You're taking "football is a business" to a very cold-blooded level. People with life threatening illnesses shouldn't have to worry about their careers in the immediate sense.

I came to Akron, Ohio in March of 2017 to work as a commissioning engineer for First Energy. I didn't know anyone on the project. Sept. 14th 2017 I had surgery for a ruptured appendix. I spent ~3 weeks in the hospital due to infection that left me with a large, open wound for ~3 months. January 2018, I became a full-time single parent.
The project didn't fire me. They created a special role for me in project management, something that I had zero experience in. I'm eternally grateful and have deep loyalty to this project and the people who are running it.

I said mine out of -obvious- hyperbole. My point was that I was afraid that we would get nothing for him. I wanted to know if we could. At that point… I didn’t understand (and still don’t) his value… but go on and “checkmate” me with bullshit I did -not- say.

Oh geez, it was a joke and not intended to degrade or insult you. You said you would trade Metchie for a 7th, and there is no "obvious hyperbole" there, particularly because you defended that decision later in your same statement. That's all I got, and do have a nice day.

Agree. I know that the NFL - and all major sports - are completely disconnected from the real world, but I really wonder if we would be having these same conversations if Dylan was on the Finance team and Metchie was over in Sales. Kind of makes us pause and recognize that these players are... human beings who need a support system to battle this awful disease.

I did not expect that! Congratulations but I hope his strength is sufficient. I thought he would be out the entire season at least.
