Hard Knocks: Houston Texans 2015

I guess the Arian Foster injury and the segment on Abdul Foster pretty much ends his career as a trainer no? Talk about setting up a story. All that praise from Arian, then BOOM. Seemed like to me they were hinting at Abdul being the problem. That had Foster trained with someone other than a family member perhaps that would not have happened. Or,I could just be making all that up in my own head.

I have always wondered that myself. I remember reading in 2011 how Abdul had a specialized training program for Arian, then Arian goes out and pulls his hamstring in preseason. Then every following preseason has been something else, and you have to wonder what measures Abdul is taking to prevent this. I believe McNair wonders this, given his statement about Foster's annual injury recurrence, and I think you're correct that the Hard Knocks director suspects it.

I was watching Hard Knocks with a friend who does not follow the Texans, and his first comment to me about Foster's injury was: "Maybe it has something to do with how his brother trains him." It appears the Hard Knocks director made his point.

HK had already gone out and filmed that training session prior to the injury. It was going to be one of their storylines.

Yeah, so what? It's a well known fact Foster suffers soft tissue injuries almost every season so I am sure they were talking about that and could be why they decided to cover his off season training. Surely you are not denying that is the impression they were trying to leave you with are you? Why didn't the cover Hopkins, or any other players off season workouts?

Could it be because Arian Foster is the only guy who trains with a family member?

The only thing I am disputing is the 'hinting at' part. The timing is wrong.

Foster is a star. Hopkins and 'any other player' are not. He doesn't work out solely with the team and doesn't go to some generic trainer, it's his brother. It's an obvious plot line. And they did talk some about JJ working out, just not his trainer.

It was a pre-planned human interest segment.

After what Foster had been through I was amazed that he was able to play 13 games the way he did last season. Then I was getting excited watching him run at the beginning of HK... even though I knew about the injury, the man looked like he was ready to bust off another 1400+ yard season.

I remember blaming his diet for his injury issues. Then the female company he kept. More recently his religious beliefs... now, his personal trainer.

What exercises can a person do to strengthen his pelvic bones & tendons?

Eh. I don't know.

Sometimes guys are just injury prone. It happens.

I know we're trying to find reasons and explanation for it because it's so ******* frustrating every single year, but it happens. We have multiple devastating, season-derailing injuries per year and not every player gets trained by Arian Foster's brother.

True - the Texans medical staff has been much maligned on this board.

It's been an ongoing theme. Arian is building his physique extremely well, following his and brother's regimen for physical improvement. What he appears to be missing is what one would assume from his alternative lifestyle - a more advance and even yoga based regimen that focuses on proper warm-up and stretching. Arnold was quite literally physical perfection ... and would be a scientific study of broken tissue if he spent his day running sprints and start-stop chaos of football. Foster seems to be too egotistical to realize what's happening. THIS is why teams pay millions to employ football specific trainers and strength-conditioning personnel ... even though many insist on using their own people, from highschool coaches, to their family.

It was bound to happen with Foster. Dude is reaching the end of your average lifespan for an NFL running back. How much tread is left on those tires after being a workhorse for so many years? Father Time is undefeated, and it's catching up to Arian. I hate to say it, because dude has been a badass for this team, but life in the NFL is what it is.

I kind of think it's this simple.

I'm going to have to say, at this point this looks a lot like Kubiak's mistake in not getting a better backup QB in here after Schaub's 2011 injury.

NFL issues memo reminding clubs of prohibition on fighting

NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent issued a memo to all clubs reminding them that the prohibition on fighting is a point of emphasis for the 2015 season. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport obtained a copy of the memo which was sent to all clubs.

Following several recent incidents of fighting among teammates and one involving opposing teams, the memo calls attention to Article 12 in the league's 2015 Rulebook:

All players are prohibited from: (a)striking an opponent with his fists (b) kicking or kneeing an opponent (c) striking, swinging at, or clubbing the head, neck, or face of a opponent with the wrist(s), arm(s), elbow(s), or hand(s). Penalty: For fouls in (a) through (c): Loss of 15 yards. If any of the fouls is judged by the official(s) to be flagrant, the offender may be disqualified as long as the entire action is observed by the official(s). If the foul is by the defense, it is also an automatic first down.

"These rules are in place for the protection and safety of our players and to keep them on the field," Vincent said. "As professionals, no matter how emotional the game becomes, there is nothing that should resort to fighting."

Coaches are encouraged to emphasize to players, coaches, and other club personnel who are on the sidelines, that fighting will not be tolerated. We greatly appreciate all of your efforts to advance our great game, keep it competitive ans professional, and to ensure that it is played to the highest standards."

It's okay. Kenny Hilliard is a rookie beast and a future star in this league.

Take the religious stuff to the NSZ, actually anything but the general topic of cussing.

Then please take action against those mentioning religious persons. I don't care if it's Muhammad, Buddha, Jesus Christ, or Joseph Smith, show some respect for others with divergent views. Don't blaspheme the leader of their chosen religion. The conversation would have never started without the first mention of Jesus Christ. Don't let your personal beliefs effect your impartial moderating.

No. We are not going to edit words in here other than those we deem appropriate to ban from the MB as a whole. If you want to discuss the propriety of using any word you may do so in the NSZ.

That's the end of the discussion in here on the matter.

Right? LeSean McCoy, Demarco Murray, Ray Rice, even MJD... all in play this season, but we've got Arian so we're not even kicking tires.

They're out there asking about the availability of Peyton Manning & Colin Kaepernick (but OB's pissed Hoyer/Mallet don't get respect) but we bring in the back up to the back up in Philly to tote the rock "just in case" something were to happen to Arian.

The more things change right?

Am I the only one impressed with JJ and the 1000 pound tire flipping part. His numbers have gone up on the flips, I wonder how that translates to the field. The score is most important of course but I also would like to see him get the sack record for a season.
I just hope he doesn't end up with back problems from flipping the tire.

ROFLMAO!

Bill O'Brien asked his own mother not to watch the show because of all the cursing he did. Even the Patriots media is enjoying the show. They can't get enough Vince Wilfork despite the fact he left.

I'm ready for the second episode on Tuesday Night.
After we manhandle the 49ers tomorrow night. Good ratings.

Who's that player that blew his acl near the opening of HK? The coaches seems very impressed with him and their feelings about his injuries was kinda reserved which I thought was odd, but now I know why NFL organization are very reluctant to be feature on HK. They don't want to reveal certain valuable inside information like the potential talents of that LB. I'm sure the Texans will keep him on a short leash away from other scouts when he's fully recovered.

I don't think it matters. Coaches fall in love with players all the time that don't ever amount to anything. Having the God given ability to play at a high level & actually playing at a high level don't come together nearly as often as you'd think.

It matters because if a coach likes a guy then that coach is going to play that guy or at the very least give him every opportunity to prove himself...which usually translated to playing time.

Cliett is going to be a player. Dude has it.

lol Pierre Garcon. What a jabroni.

I noticed Cushing made a comment to Watt on the sideline after their confrontation happened. As much trash talking as Cushing does on the field, Garcon must be insufferable if he can get under his skin. He certainly came off that way.

I've also always hated DeAngelo Hall. And he came off on the show exactly the way I've always imagined him.

Always. That guy's always been a piece of crap.

In that scene with Duane Brown at the radio station, you get to see him in street clothes. That is a large man, and not in the overfed, BBQ type of way, either.

Yeah, I made a comment to my buddy during that scene saying it's amazing that man is a converted tight end.

What was the "M" on JJ's ball cap?

Did he lose a bet?

He wore two different M hats in that episode - a vintage Milwaukee Brewers hat and a Milwaukee Braves hat. A lot of people confused the first one for a Michigan hat, which it's not.

P.S. My JJ hat game isn't this strong. The credit goes to @SportsSturm

Thanks man!

Michigan is what I was thinking, but it looked off.
