Hard Knocks: Houston Texans 2015

I'm happy to see more of my Texans. I don't get the opportunity to attend TC or very many games. I'll also watch Hard Knocks more. I'm a one or two episode on a slow day viewer.

Ugh. All these casual moron fans will now feel the need to chime in on Texans stuff and there's gonna be all sorts of manufactured, drummed up crap.

Oh well, at least Watt and Cushing will be entertaining. They're great when mic'ed up.

Maybe you should douche. Repeatedly. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Did I insult the hamster that lives in your ass?

Here, talk to him:

Being in Germany i am really exited to get a look inside all the team activities in pre season.

I hope the guys dont get distracted to much.

Thats at least a better thing than a game in London.

As much as I'd love to see my Texans play in person here in London, a full pre-season of HK definitely gives me more about the team as a whole.

Went to the Cowboys game last year and other than some PR moments the day before and a fist bump with Romo and Witten, there really wasn't much outside the game itself for a serious football fan.

Doesn't premiere until Aug. 11? Guess I jumped the gun by a few months. Ends Sept. 8 in case anyone is wondering.

'Hard Knocks' press conference transcript

Owner Robert C. McNair and Executive Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager Rick Smith and NFL Films Supervising Producer Ken Rodgers and NFL Films Director Matt Dissinger 'Hard Knocks' Press Conference

" A lot of people ask, ‘Do I have to have HBO to watch Hard Knocks?

The answer to the question is yes, but there’s multiple ways to see the show. Certainly, we would love for everyone to tune in for the premieres starting Tuesday night, August 11th at 9:00 p.m. central. You can also watch OnDemand on HBO OnDemand or on your mobile device on HBO Go. For the first time this year, you can watch on HBO Now, which is a streaming, OnDemand service that doesn’t require a cable subscription. There’s many ways to watch, we hope everybody will."

Been there in 08 at the Chargers - Saints game. I got to eat with some players at a steakhouse so that was ok, but i think youre right.

Also i think there are not enough Texans Fans here in Europe for a London game.

I think a lot of seats get sold just from the concept of locals being trendy by going to a big international sporting event, although they have adopted the Jags as their home team so they are pretty much into those games. The Pokes will draw anywhere they play just because they have been a global icon for decades, but I think that you are right in the Texans specifically not drawing fans to the game as much as it would be about just going to an American football game.

When I watched that press conference, I actually found it more interesting in seeing who wasn't there, than who was.

Might be nice if their "home team Jags" didn't lose by double-digits in each of their Wembley Stadium games.

J.J. Watt... "It is what it is"
Watt's reaction to Hard Knocks selecction.

Well, if he can stand it I can too.

I admit I'm curious enough to check in with HT.com to see if they post clips.
...but I ain't paying HBO.

To be fair, they got the 2013 Niners and 2014 Cowboys. This coming season they get the Bills who intrigue me as a team with a good enough defense to be better than their 9-7 record last year. Could be another blowout.

BTW, the local fan base is called the Union Jax. Horrible play on words...

In the last three seasons (6 games) there have been only two close games, so while I love that I can watch some 'Merican football over here, I don't think the games have been all that competitive. Travel and the PR circus just don't help much with putting the best product on the field. Miami and Detroit have joined the Jags in coming back for 2015 games. The Jags are already slated for a 2016 as part of whatever agreement is in place to have them play a game every season at Wembley. If the Texans never get picked for one of these games, I would be happy. Even if it meant getting picked for HK again...

HBO Now requires an Apple device for this streaming service to work. At least for now, hopefully that changes to include everyone.

Have AppleTV on both TV's at the house. I can watch even if the women folk want to watch their shows!

HBO Now is now available on Android as well as of today. I'm watching the Google Keynote right now, and that was one of the first things mentioned.

When it's available to anyone with an internet connection, I'll check it out. Even right now with Chromcast an HBO Now subscription cost $15 a month. I'm not sure having HBO is worth $15 a month to me. And then what happens when SHOWTIME does the same thing? I'm now out $30 a month if I want both.

My dilemma is weighing the cost per month vs the wait for something on those two channels to show up on Amazon for streaming. In Showtime's case, that can be up to a year or more. HBO is much quicker, but they don't offer Hard Knocks on Amazon. Right now I'm desperate for Homeland season 4 which will only be available on DVD at first on Amazon, and not until next month.

You see, with Amazon and Roku, I've gotten fairly well attached to the mentality of only paying for something I actually want to watch. If I get HBO for $15 a month by itself, I'm not going to watch 80% of what they offer. I damn sure am not willing to pay $15 a month to watch a pre-season show about the Texans.

m'eh, it's like the rain. Can't do anything about it, so sit back and enjoy it. I'll call Uverse before training camp and get them to give me some kind of promotional thing for free HBO for a couple of months. All you have to do is threaten to go to DirecTV and they will always give you something to stay.

When it starts up, anyone that needs a HBO Go, username, and passwords, just hit me up. I have my main account that I use, and 2 guest accounts. :handshake: :elvis:

Saints bail on practice with Texans, admit ‘Hard Knocks’ part of decision

Saints coach Sean Payton didn’t say “Hard Knocks,” the HBO series that will feature the Texans in August, was the reason he ditched the Texans for New England but admitted it figured into the decision.

The Saints, who have training camp in West Virginia, will have joint practices against the Patriots before their second preseason game.

“Really, the decision was more about getting back into a schedule here (New Orleans) and then certainly recognizing the fact that they are going to be featured on ‘Hard Knocks,’ but it was really about our team and what is best for us,” Payton said.

...

O’Brien is a proponent of practicing against other teams, but now they won’t be going against anyone in a different jersey, at least not this year.

The last sentence is bolded for emphasis because I've heard O'Brien describe how effective it was to train against the Falcons last year.

To people wanting to watch, just download kodi.

Kodi is free.

Go to YouTube and see how to get the addons that will allow you to watch whatever you want. Add the super repo source.

Can you explain how to get HBO Go & guest accounts further? I've got HBO/Comcast X1, but don't have a clue and hope not to have to wait on hold for 30 minutes to find out I'm in the wrong queue for my question. ;)
Each Comcast email account will have access to hbo if you subscribe to it. Just set up new emails at comcast.net and they will be able to access content from your Xfinity service. Just make sure to restrict access to stuff like billing, voice mail...

More specifics - go to Comcast.net, log in with your primary account, go to My Account, Users & Preferences. Should be able to create and modify users there.

Saints bail on practice with Texans, admit ‘Hard Knocks’ part of decision

The Texans learned a hard lesson about “Hard Knocks” on Thursday when New Orleans cancelled joint practices before their nationally televised preseason game on Aug. 30 at the Superdome.

O'Brien not being at the press conference spoke volumes all by itself. And now, he can't have practices against other teams, something that he's a big proponent of?

Yeah, I bet he's one happy camper right now.:brickwall:

Yep, I agree. I was thinking the same thing when the Saints announced the news. They are now trying to downplay the Hard Knocks angle (most likely due to a phone call from NFL, Inc.), but the truth is that it certainly played a huge factor. The Texans and Saints would still be scheduled to practice if not for Hard Knocks.

I was listening to one of the Hard Knock's producers in a couple of interviews, and he kept stressing the DRAMA of the show. That it's not about football itself, but the human drama of it all. He said it is the highest rated NFL Films show for a female audience, in no small part because of the way they frame 300+ hours a week of film into one hour and spin all that drama. They actually try to create perceptions of good guys and villains and by the fifth episode, redeem the "villain". He said some players get so upset that they refuse to speak to the film crews on Wednesday mornings because of the way the edits portray these players.

I can't say I won't watch, but at the same time, acting like it has absolutely no impact on pre-season preparations is just being naive about it. I'm just hoping this team can weather the storm and be better in spite of it all.

Exactly!

I have my primary account that I use to pay my bill etc, then I create random e-mails to use for HBO GO, Netflix and other sites. I think you can create either 5 or 6 e-mail addresses through Comcast using the steps you explained.

Where was that interview?

Didn't think of this, but it was brought up that Payton might have cancelled as non-cooperation with the league in a type of payback for his suspension for bountygate. And who else to team up with on that than the Patriots.
