Hard Knocks: Houston Texans 2015

9 PM. Oh man. Same time the Astros play at San Francisco.
Was hoping for a 7 or 8 PM start time here in Houston.
I'll have to miss the first three innings or so. Hard Knocks is a can't miss.

I guess there are a lot more repeats if the new programming is only weekly.
True. I can watch it anytime on my Xfinity on-demand. What I did with the Falcons last year is I just waited until the day before the Thursday Night NFL opener, and I watched all the episodes, I think there were four. on that Wednesday Night. But for the Houston Texans I don't want to miss the new airings.

You don't know how to use a DVR?

Recorded programming isn't live or brand new to me. With on-demand on Xfinity I don't really need it. I can also watch the re-broadcast of the game not long after the game ends (after the post-game show).

HBO on-demand will have the full episode of Hard Knocks available around 5 AM tomorrow morning as well. I'm just going to watch the new airing of hard knocks tonight. The first pitch is scheduled at 9:15 so I will only miss the first 45 minutes. I can see whatever I missed if it's important on the re-broadcast around midnight.

Astros on west coast at Giants so that means a conflict with Hard Knocks for me. I will watch Hard Knocks as Texans rule in my life.

What time is it over in H-town right now? Always struggle to work out the time difference but pretty sure it's 6 hours at this time of year? Hard knocks start in 1 hour or 2? I'm staying up late to try and catch a stream I'm so pumped for this! Been 8 long months without Texans football!!

It's going to take some time for me to get accustomed to this time difference thing.

Have you moved to Britain recently TPN? I think it's 6 hours back apart from a few weeks a year around the change from daylight savings when it becomes 5 hours because we change different weeks.

Pretty sure 3 am is our start time. Finding a decent stream will be a lottery, was trying to get Arsenal vs West Ham on Sunday and gave up after 4 attempts.

My wife and I retired to Spain this past April. Well, she retired; I semi-retired.

My company office is in Marina del Rey, California. I've got a 9 hour time difference there, so a 7 hour time difference to Texas, and a 6 hour difference to the East coast.

Unfortunately, for August, we're in a temporary villa that has complete and total crap internet service (and no air con.) But I've got a slingbox set up in my niece's house with DirecTV, NFL Season Ticket, and HBO. If my internet service wasn't so wonky, I'd be able to log in and watch it live, but right now it's so sketchy, I can't even get the guide to come up. I do have it set to record, however.

Ahh lovely. Loads of people from round here retire to Spain, for the warmer climate (probably cooler for you most of the year lol!!). Hear loads of horror stories about people buying property off plan in Spain mate, be very careful as I know a few people who've lost their retirement funds and not always through any fault of their own.

One of the big selling points for this area was being able to survive with minimal Spanish because there are so many retired Brits down here.

When we first moved out here, the idea was to rent ... we've got a nice villa rented out for a year (except for August) but now my wife is starting to get antsy and wanting to buy something. We've heard a lot of horror stories about buying property in Spain, so I'm not so sure that's the way we want to go.

Signed up for a free month of HBO Now yesterday just for Hard Knocks. The streaming in a PC web browser is terrible all jittery. Searching online there is no known solution for it.

Same here.Works great on my android, but only if I have Bluetooth turned off. Already watched season 5 of GOT with my reading glasses on.Help tickets to HBO so far have only referred me to their help page.

For those of us outside the US, the web is full of services streaming HBO (for free, with 'questionable' legality).

Going to jump on one of those for the premiere.

PM me if you need a link.

It is now 8:53 in Houston. Hard Knocks starts in ten minutes.

Lovie Smith says Bucs will be monitoring Hard Knocks

Posted by Mike Florio

At 10:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday night, the first episode of the Hard Knocks debuts, with the Houston Texans as the focal point of this year’s series.

One of the team’s upcoming regular-season opponents will definitely be paying attention.

On September 27, the Buccaneers play the Texans. And Tampa coach Lovie Smith will ensure that the HBO footage is scoured for anything useful.

“I think as a coach you’re not doing your job unless you can use all the information that you can get,” Smith said on Tuesday’s PFT Live on NBC Sports Radio. “So we will have someone of course like most teams, if you get a chance to watch some of it to tape it and watch it. Of course it’s entertaining but you can get something out of it also.”

Still, Smith doesn’t put much stock in anything that can be picked up and used before the game starts.

“It’s just what you do after the snap. And that’s what really determines the success,” Smith said.

He’s right, but if you know what’s coming after the snap — or for the defense when the snap is coming — there’s a better chance of winning each play. Three years ago, Texans defensive end J.J. Watt said he picked up the Miami snap count from watching Hard Knocks.

It’s safe to say all of Houston’s 13 regular-season opponents will be looking for that and other clues tonight, and for the rest of the series.

Kind of disappointed.

O'Brien is who I knew he is... smart, tough, leader. Vrabs same.

RAC surprised with his temper.

Good high intensity staff, no surprise.

But I was hoping they'd follow those down the roster players we don't know instead of Vince and JJ. Hopefully they'll shift.

This was definitely worth staying up past my bed time for. I'll probably watch it again tomorrow; see if I missed anything.

KJ2 is going to be just fine. I like that the rookies are keeping their mouths shut and taking everything in. RAC made me feel bad for not giving it my all and I wasn't even practicing. You can tell the team really respects him and his experience.

It's the first episode. It will build. You expect the payoff right away? I loved it. I could do with a tad less JJ watt but he is a real star so I get it but there will be plenty of stories to be played out. I love DeAndre's attitude.

Agree. Came off as the JJ Watt show featuring the Houston Texans. Hopefully it will focus a little more on other players. Maybe it was just because it was the first show.

16 minutes in and I love BoB more
Doesn't seem that O'Brien hates the cameras all that much. We knew that JJ loves them.

Who do I want to see more of? Kevin Johnson's sister. What a babe.

My favorite scene was at the beginning where O'Brien had his coaches together in a meeting, telling them what he thought about the overall W-L record. That right there, to me, makes it worth watching it again.

O'Brien seems to like talking to Ben Jones. Ben Jones talking about puking on the football. "I had the stomach virus." OB - "what did the QB say".. Jones - "nothin'. He was a freshman".

For #Texans fans who wanted more football, remember, the opener has to introduce everyone to the players. Will get more into specifics later <---Texans Digital Media Manager

To those who are 'disappointed' or who were 'hoping' this or 'hoping' that.

Don't watch Hard Knocks through your steel-blue tinted glasses.

I enjoyed the premier. O'Brien, Watt and Wilfork all stole the show. As did DeAndre Hopkins. I'm hoping to see or hear more about Jaelen Strong (that kid is a special talent) and also Jadeveon Clowney although since he's out now I guess they did what they could. They showed Clowney in one of the meetings. They spent a lot more time on Arian Foster, a couple of lengthy bits on him, and his disappointing groin injury. They didn't show the play it happened on though during the practice.

This quote man. That opening comment from BOB made me want to punch someone.
Same here. But a lot of it has to do with so many misses in past drafts. There were too many first, second, third and fourth-round picks, most notably early rounds, that we missed the boat on since our expansion season in 2002. Just in recent years we have some third and fourth-round picks that aren't even on the roster anymore.

As mentioned, it started off strong with Bill O'Brien's meeting with the coaches. He brought to the surface what everyone thinks, and what he intends to change.

For me, the most memorable moment was when he was watching Mallett on film and expressed extreme disappointment with one of his throws. It may have been out of context with Mallett's overall performance, but it could've revealed why the #1 spot is still open.

O'Brien has looked better than the last few head coaches on Hard Knocks. Mike Smith came off as a weakling, Lewis was obviously carried by Zimmer and Gruden, etc.

That throw by Ryan Mallett was an easy read with plenty of time to throw and he still threw the interception. It's plays like that which will cost the team some wins. It was almost Matt Schaub-esque from a few years back. Thankfully it was only a practice man. Just practice.

They didn't really spin a great light on Brian Hoyer taking control. Showing one of his fumbles against the Redskins in the joint practices, and I guess the only bright spot was Hoyer's humor. Moving forward they'll likely show something positive for one of the guys. Whichever one is winning the job.

That quote from Bill got me fired up. He gets it. He understands this team, and this fan base. Love this coach.

This team will be raging when they play the Colts this season. BOB will have them so wound up they will knock the snot out of the Colts.
