1st mock here on TexansTalk.
Round 1: Adoree Jackson - CB - USC - 5'-11", 185 lbs
Electric special teams player and playmaker at corner. Struggles with route recognition and press coverage which is why he will fall out of the top 15 picks. He can run with any receiver and is a threat to make a play on any ball thrown his way. Jackson can be a shut down man coverage corner against the trend of smaller speedy receivers entering the league.
Round 2: Billy Price - OG - Ohio State - 6'-4", 315 lbs
Current projections have Price lasting till the later part of round 2 or early round 3. IMO Price has been the only exceptional lineman for the Buckeyes, even outplaying highly touted Pat Efflein. Price is extremely powerfull and a fundamental technician. Price is the best guard I have seen coming out since Kevin Zeitler, whom he should draw many comparisons to.
Round 3: Chris Wormley - DT/DE - Michigan - 6'-4", 303 lbs
Rare ability to both split gaps or move the line of scrimmage. Prototypical 3-4 DE would allow Clowney to move back to OLB. 18 career sacks, 33 career TFL. Captain and recipient of many character, effort and academic recognitions at Michigan.
Round 4: Adam Bisnowaty - OT - Pittsburgh - 6'-6", 305 lbs
Many projections are of Bisnowaty lasting till late on day 3 or even being undrafted, but I'm not buying it. Bisnowaty is my favorite tackle in the draft so I will plug in him here anticipating Walterfootball.com and others are getting misinformation. Bisnowaty has a strong punch, rarely makes a mistake, and has very light feet. I am not impressed with any of the tackles projected to go in the 1st 3 rounds, but if Bisnowaty moves up through the process I will likely adjust to mock him where required, since OT is our greatest need IMO.
Round 5: Anthony Walker - ILB - Northwestern - 6'-1", 235 lbs
Poor mans Luke Kuechly. Doesn't have Kuechly's length but like Kuechly, Walker has a history playing defensive back and has filled out the stat sheet at Northwestern. 269 tackles, 38 TFLs, 7.5 sacks and 4 Ints in his 3 seasons. Pat Fitzgerald has called Walker the best linebacker that he has been around, including himself! At the very least, Walker would be a great special teamer and 3rd down backer for the Texans.
Round 6: Quin Blanding - SS/FS - Virginia - 6'-2", 215 lbs
Great instincts, fundamental tackler, decent ball skills, 358 tackles in 3 years
Round 7: Elijah Hood - RB - North Carolina - 6'-0", 220 lbs
Power back with great speed but limited elusiveness. High character, former eagle scout.
