Game 8 Thread: Texans @ Giants

Good , not great first half . If we cant stop their run game I'm afraid we might just get worn down and it will be the death of us . The defense looks to be picking up the tempo so you never know . Carr has looked OK so far , nothing spectacular , and then again not horrible . We need to come out and keep up this tempo on defense . If we can hold them on their first possession get the ball back , and at least get a FG to tighten this thing up . I'm not gonna get too excited , but its looking like we might have a chance .
 
Again the missed FG has us out of the game. If we make the FG it is 7 to 6 and the pressure is on NYG. Our FG kicking leaves a lot to be desired........
 
What does the pick matter? no time left.......so we threw away a possession in the 2 minute drill. What does this accomplish? You only get so many chances to drive in the nfl ya know...why give one back
 
It irks me to see the Kubiak waste the great momentum the defense created on that last drive. That hit on Shockey in the end zone started a great chain of events, and the offense wasted it with clock-burning three-out-and-punt series. Shameful.

I'll be SHOCKED if you guys don't win. The only way the Giants could've won is if they got a big lead and while not a big lead that last offensive drive (I mean the real one not the one last 16 seconds) showed that they're not going to win. IMHO, the Texans personnel right now is much better than the Giants'.

I think you hit the nail on the head, because maybe he IS'NT evaluating his QB of the future at all. I'll just leave it at that.
 
WTF NO Mario highlight at halftime?! CBS would be all over Bush if he did half the damage Mario has done in the 1st half.CBS is officially full of dooosh bags.
 
It was a sacrifice interception, and it's okay to make that kind of throw at the end of the half. The Texans need to embrace the concept.

You know a deep pass if intercepted is like a Punt. That's the way they use to look at it. I don't understand the mentality of Kubiak. Its Capers like is the only way to describe it. GIVE UP DON'T GIVE YOUR TEAM A CHANCE. WHAT A CONFIDENCE BUILDER. DON'T SAY ANYTHING TO OUR FG KICKER. HE BLEW IT AGAIN......................

I don't either. I've always thought he had potential, but I want to see the STAR too! If it isn't there, so be it, but it's time to find out.

If Bush had one 10 yard run they'd show it over and over making it look like he had 10 of those. Remember that first game against the Titans, he had like 3 good runs, the rest were crap and all they did was show those plays making it seem like he's the second coming.
 
We have to stop the run in the second half. The G-Men get he ball to start the second half and we almost always get off to bad second half starts, can'f afford to let that happen, we need a stop.

Carr just last game was sit on the bench for throwing wild plays.. He is being restricted on smart plays. They want to rebuild his confidence from sitting the bench last game for trying to force it.
 
If you have to protect your QB from himself in Year 5, I don't think any further evaluation is necessary.
 
Good half of football by the Texans. We should have more than 3 points but it's still only a 4 point game. The dreaded 3rd quarter looms ahead and we'll see how the guy come and play. We've got to run the ball better and keep playing solid defense. Mario is a beast today! This has probably been his best game as of yet.
 
can i point out that the david carr led offense has managed exactly three points in EACH of the first halves of the last 2 games.

Add to it the fact that NYG get the ball to start the 2nd half. You have to try to do something there. I'm really surprised they didn't try to do something with the ball, because it was a free shot for the NYG's. Strange game these days.

IMO the pick at the half doesn't mean much.. a team is (like vinny said) "going for the win"

however when that happened to Carr a few weeks back...unleashed the Carr bashing

He was not benched for throwing that interception. He was benched for fumbling. QBs throw interceptions - not usually into quadruple coverage - but they do throw them. The fumbling due to poor pocket awareness is inexcusable.
 
Look at it this way. He could be looking as bad as VY today ...

Last week all I heard from folks is VY was god because he didn't cost them the game. Well Carr hasn't cost us this game either and listen to folks.

Personally, I think he needs to step it up - and I think he will. We need a stop right here to avoid the 3rd quarter meltdown, though.

maybe we are still concentrating on winning games. its a little to early in the season to go into evaluation mode.

we laid down before the half against jacksonville and won. went for it before the half against tenn and lost. hopefully he will spend time later in the year finding out what carr's fate is going to be.

Lol, we were an inch away from being down 14-3 on the road with a 11 game losing streak in tow and they are already giving us the game, despite the fact we have scored a whole 7 points in the 3rd quarter and Eli is wayy better in the second half then the first...okkkk

He has -5 rushing yds so far against the Bucs.
 
superstar - thatnks for quaoting coachdent, didn't see his original post. c.dent - LOL about "Jesus" and "Moses". Will the Jags go down to the nether world if they beat up on Moses though?

I agree.. but I think they just are trying to work him back slow.. just what i think
 
Texans radio noted Mario was the first defensive player back on the field.... guess they gave him some good stuff for his foot.
