Game 2 Thread: Texans @ Colts

Its the coaches that are the problem not Carr. RUN, RUN, RUN, RUN when its not your strength. The Colts can't run, they pass it. We have the same kinds of strength. When finally made the passing game our primary attack we began to score. That's what its all about. Do what your team does best.

Well, we tried to start off passing and Mathis hit us for -9 yards. I think our base defense is still run even if it isn't too successful. You have to convince the other team you MIGHT run in order for them to bite on the PA passes.

Until they can find an every down RB - heck an every other down would do for now - I agree with you. But, a coach can't find that RB they can turn into a 100 yard/game guy unless they give the running game a shot. They had 2 RBs they hadn't tried, this is the second game of the season, we really didn't have a chance to win - so might as well go for RB tryouts.

Corrections on my yards per attempt and yards per completion. Yards per attempt was about 8.5 and yards per completion was right below ten. So basically, almost everytime Carr completed a pass, we got a first down.

I will repeat the 49er era of Montana was PASS 1st to establish the RUN. They made a good living off of that. My point is even our backs can catch the ball. We have to back the other team off of the line some how. Our strength is our TE's and WR's. Our passing game makes them like backs who have gotten beyound the line of scrimmage.

Patriots are also like this.

See my post on the message board. After I posted it they changed what they were doing. You have to understand the primary attack became the passing game. Guess what we went to out strength. Now we are beating the Colts in the 2nd half. WE ARE NOT A RUNNING TEAM. WE ARE A PASSING TEAM LIKE THE COLTS. ARE STRENGTH IS IN OUR RECEIVERS. JUST LIKE THE MONTANA 49ERS. PASS TO ESTABLISH THE RUN IS OUR GAME. WHEN THE COACHING STAFF UNDERSTANDS THAT WE WILL BE ALRIGHT.
Well, then YOU are in for a BIG disappointment this year, Mr. 13-3 predictor.;)

Excuse me. But, the only way Carr score those last touchdowns cause the Colts pull out their first string, and had second/third string players on defense. If the first string was still in, Carr shouldn't scored. The final score should have been 17-53, instead of 24-47.

Another day at the office for Carr.

Hey, his prediction holds until at least the 4th game of the season. I can see us breaking off 13 straight, or maybe 1 win 1 loss then 12 straight. It's not out of the realm of possibility if we can ffind a defense.

Most teams average around that

Only positive I saw, while staying away from the board during the "game", was Gado. Looked to be best of our RBs for this game. Carr started off horrible, but managed to run up his stats vs vanilla 2nd/3rd string Defense. Everything else was very poor. But thats what happens when your up against against a top flight team.

Well, at least Mario had to tackles.

I predict we repeat 2 and 14 (if we're lucky) and Kubiak uses the number one overall pick on a new punter.

Because it's obvious this offense just needs a new punter

The only positive I saw today was the ability to add more negative tards to my ignore list. Thanks for posting so I could identify you :)

You obviously just lack the courage to believe!

What we are seeing is the result of pure arrogance.

My "system" is so infallible I don't need championship quality players. Draft a skill position? Why? I betroth skills on those 3rd round picks lucky enough to catch my eye!

Oh well, hire an Aggie, you can't really complain about results.

Skill players arent worth anything if there aren't talented big uglies to play in front of them. Would you rather have Barry Sanders and all his infinite talent and crappy OLine or Emmitt Smith, who was less talented than Barry, and his great OLine?

I'd settle for Barry at this point.

If Mario was the answer you trade down 4 picks, even without any consideration from the other team, and get him for less money instead of first overall.

Again, hire an Aggie, wait five seconds, get what you deserve.

Or do you disagree?

What's the big deal? First, we were told to give the team 6-8 games before we would see improvement--then, we were told it would take a couple of years 'together' for everything to 'gel' and we might start winning...

Heck, we're only in the 2nd game! You aren't suppose to complain for at least a couple of years--sit back, relax, take a deep breath, and just enjoy NFL Football in our town.

Well then you are obviously following the wrong team. Has nothing to do with being an Aggie, has to do with having his guys in his system. Which obviously does not get done in one offseason.

I am. We're going to be much better this year. We're going to win a lot more games than we did last year. We're on the right track.

If I'm mistaken, but didn't I hear that the reason we got Mario was to improve our defense and win games fast, I think that is why we passed on Bush. We have not won, and as fans we are not happy when our team's defense does not even look like they are trying. What was Bush's numbers for today? I know they won the game.

0.8 yards a carry. I'm crying so hard that the Texans passed him up.

:sarcasm:

Of all the forums I belong to, I haven't put anyone on my ignore list. Even the tards because sometimes they see the light.

6 Rush Attempt, 5 yards, Long of 6
8 Catches, 68 Yards, Long of 23
4 Punt Returns, 9 Yard Average, Long of 14

I will always support my hometown team...but my god can't we just compete!? I am so tired of watching these games only to be be blown out by any given opponent they throw at us. Plus it is even worse being at the games, because other teams' fans talk trash the entire way.

I love how most fans on this board trys to stay optimistic...but come on, this is getting pathetic and I think we all know it.

Seeing Red <----------- Frustrated

ps losing by more than 20 points is getting easier by the game......

Season ticket holder to the Oilers from 85 till the end, season ticket holder to the Texans till it became obvious they were not interested in winning.

But you're right, I'm following the wrong team.

Yet you refused to refute my point. Why? Because it's irrefutable.

Swallow the Kool Aide dude. It's working swell so far.

You point of? Mario being drafted #1 and us not trading down? You always need someone trade with, if not your standing there holding yourself with nothing to do. Grow up.

6 carries for 5 yards for Bush.

Oh, and New Orleans schedule - Browns then Packers (my pick for worst team in the league) - might have been the easiest first two in the NFL, whereas ours was arguably the toughest.
