Game 2 Thread: Texans @ Colts

Gotta love the optimism. There is a lot football left. If I remember right this is how much of the board felt this time last year. But I agree w/ an earlier post that there are some winnable games ahead.

I was optimistic until about week 15 last year. I think twelve losses is my breaking point.

Might I ask the great Football minds on the board this thought provoking question:

If David is our starting QB, and we are in a doomed game...why is he still in? Wouldn't it be smart to pull him and not risk injury?

He needs to learn. He needs the reps. Why is MANNING in, that's the question.

I'm guessing to get him some rhythm in the passing game for next week.

I know, "If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride", but still...we got three TDs in the 11 minutes remaining. If our D had just held Indy...

Sigh.

I'm reigning in the enthusiasm since the game was out of hand early and the Colts basically stepped off the gas starting about halftime. He did some things better today but fumbles, etc killed us early.

Only missed 4 passes.

I don't think I've ever seen a game where the QB has an 84% completion percentage. That's ridiculous. Cut down the fumbles, sacks and get some defense in here, and we might have a team.

See my post on the message board. After I posted it they changed what they were doing. You have to understand the primary attack became the passing game. Guess what we went to out strength. Now we are beating the Colts in the 2nd half. WE ARE NOT A RUNNING TEAM. WE ARE A PASSING TEAM LIKE THE COLTS. ARE STRENGTH IS IN OUR RECEIVERS. JUST LIKE THE MONTANA 49ERS. PASS TO ESTABLISH THE RUN IS OUR GAME. WHEN THE COACHING STAFF UNDERSTANDS THAT WE WILL BE ALRIGHT.

Something to note: we've started 0-2 the past 3 years. That includes the year we went 7-9. So it's not time to panic, yet. We've played a couple of really good teams to start this season.

I forgive Carr for everything now that he got my favorite player a TD.Carr has had a pretty good game today.

And not because he hung more points on this Colt team than the Giants did last week?

I really thought before this year started that we had improved our offensive line. Spencer is without a doubt a good player, but I just hope he can come back. We are going to need him..... *sigh*

Carr, DeMeco, Daniels looked good. I would mention some others but we lost so its hard to do it :P

I think Mario took a step forward today, those of you who disagree, thats fine, just please don't make an anti-mario thread.

I'm far from a great football mind - but I would imagine Practice and more Practice - For the last TD, Carr even had a nice little pump fake there.

As for Manning, he doesn't like to be taken out of a game - upsets his psyche. Probably one reason why he is as good as he is.

Thanks for the update guys… CBS cut off the game and the gamecenter, powered by CBS, is not updating at all right now.

How ironic is this? Not 30 seconds after the end of the game, when I'm free to go watch some good football, a T-storm kills reception.

He's been throwing little 5 yard passes though.

What's wrong with that? Some offenses are based off of 5 yard passes and lots of yac. Jerry Rice lived off that. McNabb and the Eagles live off that, too.
