Jam is a good guy who is very passionate about our Texans. I don't think it was his intention to take over this wonderful forum. He just love starting threads like this, which is fine by me. It actually gives us something to talk about during the week.

If he thinks he's the only passionate Texans fan, he's mistaken. We aren't against him posting... It was the declaration that he was going to start a new tradition that I think rubbed people the wrong way. Here's an idea, let it become a tradition... don't declare that you are going to start one. I mean look at his "if you think I think because I said I think" post. Seriously? He insists on making a big deal out of it, it just comes off as "hey, look at me... I'm a superfan".

This is a good group of guys, when I make it to the games we tailgate together and one by one fewer and fewer of those people show up here... not saying that falls on Jay, but every year (especially after playoffs 1) new people show up and try to force themselves on the board. After a while people tire of it.

The reason I post this thread on both boards is because research goes into each one. It takes time to write these threads. It's easier to write it on one board then copy and paste it to the other board instead of rewriting the whole thing all over again. I have to do this on my phone.

We are all Texans fans. I just want to have fun and enjoy what we have in front of us. Something we have never had. A team that could actually make us proud.
I'm really looking forward to this first game. Just to see this new offense and all the new weapons with our new quarterback.
The only reason I do this is because it's fun and I enjoy everyone's point of view.
What ever happens this season, let's just enjoy some football.

suggestion: do what you want but quit defending and ignore what is thrown at you. There are enough folks who want to read and post; go with that. You are letting some distract you, get back to football.

I am more excited than ever before game one. We really may have a very good team and fairly deep at most positions. If Watt, Newton and Brown return reasonably healthy our Oline and Dline could become strengths rather than concerns. Love to draft BPA for a change

You claim you enjoy discussing football but no one enjoys discussing with someone who is either just being ridiculous or trolling - which in your case is both. Maybe we need to go to double threads on every topic - one for people interested in reasonable discussion and one for trolls and people who think we will go either 16-0 or 0-16 (apparently the only options you seem to think are possible - unless that is just you trolling again).

We just need to get Watt, Brown and Newt healthy. I hope they don't play in this game just so they can have another week of rehab, practice and getting back up to game speed. Of course we know Brown won't play, but there are too many reports that JJ and Newt will. From what Doc has said, it could be bad for JJ to come back this soon. I think we'd all rather have him healthy and have him long term then to come back too soon just because he's never missed a game in his career and risk a shorter career because of nagging injuries he could have avoided by being patient.

Agree on Watt, let him start a series then bring him out (may take a tractor to pull him). It seems this should be a reasonably "easy" win and allow more healing. I would like to see Covington, Mercilus and Clowney go nuts. Maybe Simon could join them?

I kinda feel sorry for Jay Cutler. He's going to get beat up. Even if JJ isn't in there.....Naaaa. Not really. lol

I am surprised that Watt and D Brown are off PUP. Hopefully, this off season allowed back ups to get experience and reps normally not there; nothing wrong with stronger depth. I think Covington, Reader and Devon Still will solidify defense and allow Watt and Wilfork some rest as season progresses. Scarlett intrigues me mucho
 
I would actually like to talk football. I was going to write my analysis of the game. This is twice I've been side tracked.

Sit Watt and Brown... If this team is as good as we hope it is then we need them resting.
 
Just because they are off the PUP doesn't mean they're going to play right away. It just keeps the option of activating them any week depending on their progress. I can still see Brown potentially sitting out this week, and maybe next week as well

agree but with Watt coming off PUP so early I just don't see him sitting. He will want to keep his starting game going. TBH I am more concerned about Newton's health and play at least for now. I see Lamm as less skillfull backup OT.
 
Ok so this thread is completely derailed. Going to close it with a few thoughts.

JamTex you are free to start these threads right after each game to discuss the next game. Wouldn't call it a tradition just do it and see if it catches on. Everyone else, lighten up. Just because nobody has done it here before doesn't make it wrong. JamTex, feel free to start a 2nd version of this one.

Everyone needs to stay on topic better.

Nobody likes an internet tough guy so if folks start to type some variant of 'if we met in person you wouldn't say that' just refrain.

We don't need people posting things they don't really believe to provoke conversation. We've already got plenty.

If your post talks about other MB members instead of football you are probably on the wrong path. I won't say always, helpful hey there is a college forum or other singular helpful posts are ok exceptions. If it heads south of that report and pm the problem.

This MB was built on polite peer pressure as much as moderation. If you peer pressure like a dick, you're wrong. If you respond to polite peer pressure like a dick, you're wrong.

Everyone spend a couple weeks being f'king nice. There's always time to fight later.
