The extra cap $ from Watt perked up my flagging off season interest as I thought significant moves (other than minor back up possibilities) were past.
Two guys I am interested in bringing to Houston are former Oakland center Stefan Wisniewski and Eagles OG Evan Mathis; both would be starters and in prime. Wisie turned 26 March 22 & 6'3" 307. Mathis is 33. Here is some info on each. I was optimistic a move of some type would be made today or tomorrow. Dent was good but not all I hoped for.
Wisniewski:
Mathis:
Higher bases than I want at $5.5 and then 6. If X came on, I guess Mathis could be cut if needed. We have cap for him now and could cut Clabo $1.2 m and Ben Jones 1.5 and Yeatman $1 m for Wisie.

Wisniewski:
Wisniewski is recovering from shoulder surgery after last season when he played with a torn labrum. The former second-round pick of the Raiders has made visits to the Seahawks and Bucs, and the Rams and Chiefs are also known to be interested. No team has been willing to meet his request of $4 million per season and it could be he winds up on a one- or two-year prove-it contract.
Just last week Chiefs GM John Dorsey said they were confident in Eric Kush at center but that they're not done turning over every stone. There have been reports of the Chiefs sniffing around other veteran centers. Considering the very, very little experience that Kush has I wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of veteran brought in. If that veteran is Wisniewski I will be a little surprised because I thought most of the Chiefs free agent spending was done with. But if Wisniewski can be had for a modest one-year contract? Sign me up. The Chiefs offensive line had plenty of issues last season. If they can avoid a potential issue at center by signing a proven player, go for it.
Mathis:
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/03/24/eagles-may-cut-evan-mathis-if-they-cant-trade-him/Pro Football Focus rated Mathis as the best guard in the NFL for the 2011, 2012, and 2013 season. In 2014, after missing 7 games due to injury, he was rated as the 2nd best guard.[9]
Named to the USA Today All-Joe Team after the 2012 season.[10]
Ranked number 6 overall in Pro Football Focus' Top 101 of 2012.[11]
In 2013, Pro Football Focus chose Mathis for its inaugural Bruce Matthews Award recognizing the NFL's best offensive lineman.[
