Redskins sign David Patten

Ashburn, VA (Sports Network) - The Washington Redskins took a step towards shoring up their unsettled receiving corps Thursday, as the club signed free- agent David Patten. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Patten spent the last four seasons with the world champion New England Patriots and was a key part of the club's three Super Bowl wins during that span. The eight-year veteran started 11 of New England's 16 games in 2004 and hauled in 44 passes for 800 yards and a career-best seven touchdowns.
The 30-year-old Patten set personal-bests with 61 catches and 824 yards for the Patriots in 2002 and had 51 receptions for 749 yards the previous season.
