Forum Bugs ... Please Report

What's slow, posting? I am bouncing around and the speed seems pretty good. I remember that the Google ads were killing it, that's why I removed those. The version is not that old. I think I had it upgraded a couple of years ago.
Not complaining either, but it's definitely slow for me. Takes 7-10 sec for the page to start loading after every click. Not always slow, sometimes it works fine, sometimes it's slow. Right now it's slow. It's been like that for at least a couple of months.

I logged out today for a couple of hours. Just log back on and taking approximately 30 seconds on posting, or switching threads. This was the same issue before the site shut down. FYI

Okay guys. I see it going slow now. None of my current developers know XenForo. In the meantime, ChatGTP is showing me the likely cause and showing me how to fix it within the server. If I break something I will see if I can locate the guy I hired to upgrade this thing last time.

If you only knew. I have been deep diving into AI for my business for almost 2 years now. It's getting crazy what you can do now with AI.

Okay, so it showed me where there was an issue. I showed it the server error logs and it showed me that the "session activity" table was full. It showed me how to clean that up which I did. It still seems a little slow to me. Going to keep investigating this.

I was able to optimize some things however it looks like the issue is we are maxing out CPU usage on the current server setup. That means I need to migrate to a faster server which is always fun. I'm surprised considering it's offseason and I doubt the traffic is higher than what it's been in the past. Was the board decent during the season?

For the last two or three months while the slowdown seem to be occurring, we had much less traffic than we had during the season. If that helps?

I think I found the culprit. If you look at current users online, it's 8 members and almost 3,000 guests. Those "guests" are bots slamming the board and causing the CPU spikes slowing things down. I'm working with my AI assistant to solve this. It gave me a block of code to disable tracking of "guests" but Tapatalk is overriding that and likely the culprit for all the bots. The AI is telling me to uninstall Tapatalk and retest. I got to block those bots somehow.

Tapatalk blows!

Can you just disable it?

Interesting first hand report. As an old codger, but someone who has "played" with computers since punch cards, AI is something I'd be into if I was younger. What little I use it for now, I generally know enough to know when it's giving me wrong information. This is it's weak point today. Hopefully it'll improve. Just as an example, I was using AI for some auto mechanic help and it was giving me answers so far off base I knew it was wrong. Eventually I massaged good info from it. But you have to know when it's wrong.

The forum speed has improved, but I agree it's still not up to it's best.

The newer AI models have improved a ton. It's helped me fix things in my boat just from photos (I'm not a mechanic). It's helping block bots right now but many are still getting through. Still working through this.
