Fast Mock Draft 2.0

Tampa Bay selects WR Blair White, 6022 209 Michigan State -
Blair-White.jpg

Kevin Walters clone, physical with better speed (4.42) sure hands, big, smart, willing special teams player & aggressive downfield blocker.

The Kansas City Chiefs select Zane Beadles, OG/C/T, Utah

Zane-Beadles.jpg

I was considering Beadles and McCoy in the 3rd, and got both. This Chef is happy.

This is a bit of a luxury pick, BUT Dan Snyder made me do it... Why did I take this job???

The Washington Redskins select Mardy Gilyard, WR/KR, Cincinatti

mardy-gilyard1.jpg

Rock Cartwright and Randle El are no mas. The Skins need a KR. I really wanted to go with strong side linebacker, but Gilyard was there begging for me to pick em up.

Next 5.

104.) Seattle Seahawks - Texan4Ever

105.) Philadelphia Eagles - Shaft75

106.) Oakland Raiders - RMartin65

107.) Buffalo Bills - kiwitexansfan

108.) Jacksonville Jaguars - beerLover

Like others have said, some really good players here in the 4th. Wish we had an extra 3rd or 4th to do some damage.

I really don't know who I want for the Texans in the 1st. I'm having such a hard time with it. Particularly if the draft folded like this Mock, I'd REALLY want the Texans to trade down in the 1st and pick up an extra 3rd rounder. I like too many of the 2nd/3rd round prospects.

Dexter McCluster, Mike Johnson, Ben Tate, Montario Hardesty, Toby Gerhart, Jonathan Dwyer, Zane Beadles, Marshall Newhouse. Then we have the DT and CBs to add into the mix - whoever fits what the Texans want to do. I wouldn't be sad if we COMPLETELY traded out of the 1st round this year if we got good value.

What's puzzling to me is that this is exactly what New England did last year in what was considered to be not that deep of a draft. Then you have a team like Philly stockpiling picks in this years draft because of all the talent. I have been overly pleased with my Philly mocks too.

I cant see us passing on Kyle Wilson with #20 if he is there. Taking a RB is not ideal for the Texans, and if the draft fell like this I would rather trade down too.

Hypothetical. Simply trading down 8 spots with San Diego could net us their 3rd and 4th round picks giving us a possible draft like this.

1 Devin McCourty CB, Rutgers
2 Morgan Burnett, S, Georgia Tech
3 Montario Hardesty, RB, Tennessee
3 OL
4 DT
4 WR
5 LB
6 CB
6 RB
7 QB

I don't think our pick is high enough for teams to want to trade up for it.

This draft seems to have a top 15 or so then the next 40 or so picks are much of a muchness.

Well it just depends on what player(s) are available, like if Spiller or Dez slipped. And then there's a team like Baltimore a couple years ago that surprised everyone with Joe Flacco (18th overall).

Great pick

I would've made that pick myself. LOL

Thanks, he is supposed to be a 2nd or 3rd talent but I think he is one of those players that was over-hyped in high school and fell way short of what was expected of him. By no means is he a finished product, he has a high floor and talent if used correctly but I don't expect him to be a starting tailback in the NFL (prove me wrong Joe if you're reading this!)

Unless we pick up the pace we are going to have a hard time finishing 5 rounds before the draft starts. You should already have your research done. Just make a pick or send me your list.

With the 105th pick of the draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select Marshall Newhouse, G, TCU

If anyone has a second to add in one of those killer TCU stock photos it would be much appreciated. On my iPhone and out in the field today.

The Oakland Raiders continue with their "need for speed" by picking Clemson's Jacoby Ford.

Probably not a pick I would make, but it was to good to pass up for the Raiders.

They do have a need at receiver, so I don't feel bad making the pick.

The Bills after looking long and hard at their pu-pu platter at QB decide to add another body into the mix and select...

Tony Pike, Cincinatti, QB

108th pick Jacksonville selects - Larry Asante, SS, Nebraska

doc4abef4d35bd60941898638.jpg

Jacksonville needs to upgrade safety position despite spending 1st rd. pick in 07 on Reggie Nelson. If Clasuen is off the board #10 the Jaguars would take a hard look towards Earl Thomas to upgrade need. To find a safety in the 4th who can come in and upgrade secondary in Larry Asante is great value for them. He is competitive, confident, solid technique wrap up tackler w/big hit mentality. Complete football player (always solid in game film) gets unfairly knocked for measureable speed (4.66-4.68) good size 6' 3/8" 211 & vertical 37" immediate fill FS or SS

The Chicago Bears Select: Jermaine Cunningham, DE, Florida

They lost Gaines Adams, and cut Alex Brown. They need someone on the other side of Mark Anderson.

111.) Tennessee Titans - steelbtexan

112.) Carolina Panthers - The Pencil Neck

113.) San Francisco 49ers - Ole Miss Texan

114.) Denver Broncos - Ole Miss Texan

115.) New York Giants - kiwitexansfan

116.) Pittsburgh Steelers - steelbtexan

With the 111th pick in the NFL Mock Draft the Tennessee Tacks select Tony Washinton OT Abilene Christian

God how I love making this pick Washington is a 1st rd talent that fell to rd 4 because an incestious relationship with his sister. That means he will fit in well with the inbreds from Tackville. Y'all come back now.

Washington helps fill a depth issue on the Tack OL.

See I didn't even mention the word Sister********r

Oooppps!!!!!! LOL

Wow. That is just...wow...

The San Francisco 49'ers select Kyle Calloway OT, Iowa.

As GM I'm committed to building a dominant OL for our running game. Solid play from our OL and RBs will only help our passing game. With the additions of Jerry and Calloway, I'm on my way of doing just that. Jerry may slide inside to G if Calloway looks like he can be my RT.

The Denver Broncos select Taylor Price WR, Ohio.

Broncos have put off the WR due to a combination of other needs and higher rated players. Lucky for us, rounds 2-4 look to have the best value at this position. The speedy Price should fit in nicely with our offense.

I'm going to ask if TPN can explain Byers selection here.

I've seen him projected as a 7th Rounder or even a Free Agent after the draft.

There are a lot of questions about Byers. He's had some health issues over the years. He can play both guard spots as well as center. He's rated as high as a 4th rounder (Walter Football and CBS Sports) and as low as a FA (NFL Draft Scout). He's a talented kid and I had him at 111th on my board and the highest rated interior linemen.

Felt like a good fit to me.

Thanks for the clarification. Versatility is gold so I can see the appeal.

The Giants really were set to draft a player they really like here (who won't be named in hope they are forgotten by the other teams and he slides to the 5th round) when they realised that while there was still value at that position, but Safety was getting a bit thin. So they snapped up......

Myron Lewis, Vanderbilt, FS

Seeing some good players still coming off the boards. Good work everyone.

116.) Pittsburgh Steelers - steelbtexan

117.) Atlanta Falcons - RMartin65

118.) Houston Texans - Super Mario

119.) New England Patriots - Kaiser Toro

120.) Cincinnati Bengals - Ole Miss Texan

With the 116th pick in theNFL draft the Pittsburgh Steelers select Robert Johnson Utah.

I started to pick a WR but with Randel El rejoining the Steelers and hopefully Sweed becomes the player he was drafted to be I decided to go in another direction.

We saw how bad the Steeler secondary needed playmakers when TP got hurt last year. Adding AOA and Johnson helps solve that issue. Johnson was also the highest ratedplayer on my board. He's a playmaker.

I doubt we finish round 5 at this pace... We are picking as slow as the last mock. And the entire point of this mock was to have less users picking for more teams to speed things up.

What does everyone think? Try for round 5?

I'm keen for another round. We need more people committed to PMing their picks.

Let's go 5 ... in a week it will be over anyway .

We talked about the McCluster pick being a luxury pick , well there's two guys on the board who I'd consider the same but I would pick them in the 4th round . One's Dorin Dickerson , who I'd pick for the Texans . An undersized TE/HB who runs a 4.4 , he's like that guy on the Jets from Purdue , who I think was picked in the 2nd .

I don't have a preference. I've been picking for 3 teams that have a combined 15 picks in the first 4 rounds.... so I'm spent. LOL

Alright, back from class. The Falcons select Florida State OLB Dekoda Watson.

I have been looking to fill OLB for some time now, this seemed like a good spot for it.
